Since 1983, the Autism Treatment Center of America has presented The Son-Rise Program - a truly child-centered approach (for children and adults diagnosed with Autism and other related disorders) in which you’ll move with your child, instead of going against them. This creates a deeply loving, deeply respectful learning environment, enabling both you and your child to build a joyful connection together. Then, using a step-by-step educational process, you’ll inspire a love of learning from your child. We put parents in the driver’s seat as key teachers, therapists and directors of their own programs, utilizing the home as the most nurturing environment to help their children dramatically improve in all areas of learning, development, communication and skill acquisition.

im an autistic 15yr and i wish my parents could be like the teachers of this programme xD im often bored and with no motivation to do anything other than spend all day on my phone, so i would love to have a fun adult to guide me in creative ways and play with me, even when doing chores! (like singing or making a competition to know who wash the dishes faster! xD) there was a fun teacher lady like that in my previous school and she worked with autistic kids in a special classroom and sometimes when i was overstimulated by all the loud noises and nonstop movement everywhere i looked, i would go there in this classroom and do fun activities with her like make cute diy bunnies for easter with googly eyes and glittery glue... i loved going there... she was so kind and understanding, unlike any other people ive ever met... unfortunately i cant go to the school she works in anymore cause im in first year of high school and that school only goes up to ninth grade :( sometimes i wish i spent more time there instead of sitting alone at lunch break waiting for someone to magically become my best friend 😿 if i was diagnosed at that time, maybe i would feel more comfortable going there, cause i remember i felt like an annoying neurotypical person invading the safe space of neurodivergent kids... turns out i was autistic like them all along x'D im gonna go to a speech therapist tomorrow for the first time ever and im very excited!! ive heard that theyre very fun, understanding and creative, so i hope she is like the special needs teacher lady i had 😸 anyways, sorry for the long text! thanks for reading till here and god bless! bye bye 😸💞 edit: grammar (sorry, i messed up some words 😅)

You should show your parents . Maybe they don't know about this type of fun.😜 Being an adult and parents get hard sometimes . But I'm sure they wish they could be like the people in this video . Sometimes we forget we used to be your age. ☺️ My son is 12 and nonverbal And I feel he may feel the same way but idk how to know since he can't tell me. He can't type or write either. He just knows how to get to RU-vid and knows what music and videos he likes . I feel like he's bored alit too. I hope you and your parents have fun together soon.

@@jennifershepherdjenMM hello Jennifer, thank you for the reply, i love when people interact with me on the internet, its very nice and makes me happy 😄 2 months ago when i wrote this, i was having a pretty boring routine, but nowadays, im visiting my family almost everyday and they have kids (5 year old to 9 year old) and i get to play with them the whole time!! i even went to an arcade with my little cousin today and i think it was the best day of my life!! 🤩 but anyways, you seem like a really good mother and i bet your kid loves you vereeeeeeeery much!!!! the thing you said about parents and having adult responsibilities is very true, wise words ma'am! i hope your lil angel gets to talk soon, or maybe gets one of those image to speech tablets for nonverbal kids if he doesn't have one yet :D god bless, fellow awesome mommy on youtube!! 💗

My 6-year-old nephew has a severe autism, who does not say any words clearly (just shouts, screams, says 'mom' unclearly) but do something which make sense (unlocking doors, laughing, riding horses, etc.). Is it possible for him to do a verbal communication with other people from now on through this program?

I was watching a video which talked about a recent study that investigated the effects of psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, in mice and demonstrated its long lasting effects on the growth and structure of dendritic spines. Mutations in several genes strongly implicated in autism have resulted in altered dendritic spine morphology, including SHANK35 and FMR1. Typical synaptic development is not linear; rather there is an overgrowth of synapses early in development, followed by a pruning of many synapses. I suspect that if the autistic brain can brought back into a state of neuroplasticity, the damage to the dendric spines can be reset with microdosing psilocybin while the child is engaged in A.B.A., much like the Son-Rise program. The Son-Rise Program focuses intensely on entering into the child's world and showing them the way out. This is done by teaching dynamic, enthusiastic, play-oriented methods that focus heavily on social development and social interactions with parents, siblings, peers, etc. I have two men 25 & 23 that are on the spectrum. I was watching this video when the idea came to me. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9Xj0wk7iH4w.html

This doesn't work with my son. He could care less. When my son was younger and would have melt downs easier. If I would have shook something or tried to join in it didn't work. He would cry and yell at the site of me chiming in. It was so emotional upsetting! No this wouldn't work at all! Not all children are the same. I even kept trying so I don't know what to say here except he's not that way anymore. At 12 yrs, he now walks away. I tell him to come on and sit down and he does. Now I'm teaching him how to play and how to manipulate the toy in a normal way- actually teaching him how to play.

@feltingme
@feltingme 7 лет назад
You say it was very upsetting to you, when he didn't react in a way you expected. If you read a book, Raun's parents had periods, where it seemed like he was regressing, and that would not work, but they kept accepting and loving him and what they did in the face of it, and eventually it turned around. Love and acceptance is the cornerstone of joining, not mimicking. I don't know, if this would have helped in your case, but just something to think about. I didn't know about this, when my autistic son was nonverbal, but I read book It Takes Two to Talk, which also talks about joining in, and it worked for my son. However he is still not interacting with other children, so I hope learning this way will help.
