In the latest episode of "The Songbook", Steve Brodsky and Adam McGrath from Cave In sit down for a stunning play through of "Shake My Blood" off the band's latest album "Final Transmission." A deeply personal record, it was completed after the tragic death of Cave In's founding bassist Caleb Scofield.
"The song 'Shake My Blood' was my first opportunity to express what I was feeling about the whole situation," Brodsky explained at the time of the album's release. "It's a mix of extreme grief, frustration and anger. I was trying to do something to gain the clearest answer about whatever the next move might be.
Of their appearance on "The Songbook," Brodsky and McGrath offer in a joint statement: "It was very cool of Gibson to have us perform an acoustic version of a Cave In song. We even snuck in part of a Joe Walsh song that day, jamming fireside in a canyon in Los Angeles last fall. As fans of sixties and seventies California folk/country/psych, the location and vibe was right up our alley."
