The movie and Tide reference is because Valentina was watching “The Prince of Tides” starring Barbara Streisand and Nick Nolte. He plays the brother of a suicidal patient of Streisand’s Psychiatrist character. They connect and fall in love, but it’s allowed because he is not actually her patient. This goes over Tony’s head and he sees himself as Melfi’s Love interest (her “Prince of Tide(S)” hence the Tide bottle

The woman leaving Melfis office as Tony is about to go in is Robin Green, another writer on the show. She and her husband Mitchell Burgess are the only writers from season 1 to stay on the show up to season 6.

For me Johnny Sack remains favourite. Next to Carmine he is what a true mafioso should be. With faults of course. His love to Ginny was also close to the relationship Bobby had with his wife, and that was a stron exception in that world. Salud.

Really love episodes like these because they remind you what garbage human beings characters like Paulie and Chris are. Paulie is breaking balls but when Chris hits back with some truth he has a hissy fit and then tries to get back at Chris through his wallet. It, of course escalates, but before they can come to blows over that, a poor waiter comes over (in what was perhaps the worst time to complain about a tip) only to be hit by Chris in the back of the head with a rock, and finished off by Paulie. These degenerates then make up over the murder. Moral of the story is that these guys are scum, and breaking balls always leads to death.
