The Soul of Dracula (fan-made Castlevania) Full Walkthrough (No Death) 

The best part is Not-Belmont trashing Not-Castlevania wearing what appears to be a pair of stylish slacks.

I really like how well this game blends borrowed ideas from the series with some inventive new elements. Really impressive level design for a fan made game.

This is some pretty damn nice level design, I have to say. The game just keeps throwing new elements at you, both visually and gameplay-wise. I have to respect it.

Doesn't look bad, but the main character looks like Buzz from Home Alone.

The centaur boss is all shades of awesome, the way he flicks the impaled bodies off the poles before launching them at you. Such detail.

It is amusing how one man created new sprites, backgrounds and everything for his game and how Konami's employees who are paid for their work can't redraw a single sprite for nearly 20 years since RoB was released.

Haunted Castle influence all over this game. I like it!

The more I saw this game's playthrough, the more I got nostalgia vibes from the Sega Genesis and especially the Sega Master systems

This should be the 2D version of Reinhardt Schneider in Castlevania 64

Interesting game, I see a lot of influence from Belmont's Revenge and, in some stages, I also get a consistent Splatterhouse vibe, which is great. The music though reminds too much of Back to the Future on NES.

Some of the bosses I did not expect (like the Centaur), but my favorite parts have to be the doppelganger intro (that blew me away!) and the part where Death was chasing you cutting down the chains. Also really enjoyed that final version of Drac.

Aside from the questionable character sprite, absolutely phenomenal work for a fan game and of course superb game play from Arek.

I actually really like that Dracula fight!

I see influences of Bloodlines and Rondo of Blood in this game. But I like those influences. And this is a solid tribute to the classic Castlevania games.

It's been two weeks, and track 1 is finally up. I intend to upload the rest shortly!

My favorite part was, without doubt, that second rope with the skeleton hanging from it, having it actually hanging from a cross. Excellent imagery there. I love little details like that.

I like how the 2nd Stage throws back a level from the Gameboy Castlevania, the music is original, and I like the feel of it being a little Classic, I also like how you put part from the first stage in Haunted Castle.

I really like some of the concepts in this game, Death cutting the chains for one is a particularly exhilarating segment. The music though.... T_T

I really like some of the ideas here. Of course it lacks some polish, but considering one guy did this, there are some great ideas here; the doppleganger fight on the bridge was executed very nicely and some little things like that mosquito getting caught in the spider web or destroying those cracked blocks to flood the room just add that little bit of variety and life to the game world. Very nice job all things considered! :P

It looks like a very solid game, great concepts and overall amazing layout design... it's a shame the graphics and the music are rather mediocre, this game has everything to become fantastic if only could reach higher graphical standards. Nice longplay, BTW!

Pretty awesome game and playthrough! Reminds me of an early Genesis title, or maybe something on the Amiga.

I don't have the computer know how but on paper did similar to what I see here & am glad to see this, that others have same like minded idea. Fun to watch & thanks.

The game is actually pretty good, though it could probably stand a good hard look by a professional design team. It's very creative, particularly the bosses. It just needs some polish, a lot of the levels just seem kind of boring. And it is very nice to see a clock tower level that goes beyond the standard "pendulum swing" and "medusas knocking you off gears" traps.

Finally i beat this game. The last stage was very hard and the end bosses took me 20 tries!!!

I like how the final boss theme loops perfectly as the bosses pattern loops (second phase)

I've been searching for the soundtrack and I finally got my hands on it. I want to upload it and use footage of this video. I will give you(and Arek) credit, of course.

For a one man production its pretty good looking, and there are some genuinely awesome ideas here, the Centaur boss, the Crying paintings, the encounter with death while climbing the chains. The only thing I would have loved is if the music was a little better.

This game is a very good mixture of classic pre-SotN Castlevania games.

The rope climbing mechanics are really cool addition. What could have been better is the boss battle theme.

Seems to be pretty good, especially considering it's a fan-made game. Obviously, the music isn't quite up to par with an official company-made Castlevania, but that's to be expected. The character sprite, though, could've been better. But outside of that, it's good. Seems to have a pretty good atmosphere going. Final boss was well done.

Honestly, I do not care if it is legitimate or not, the game is excellent. These games are so amazing to me, not everyone who created them. I love them all, I do not know the differences.

Sorry about the double post(not enough room) @anomalocarlos I actually like seeing how the protagonist looks like an average Joe. I guess just seeing all these heroic types(many Belmonts, Richter in particular) and Alucard makes me wonder "But what if someone ORDINARY had to fight Dracula?" and that's also what I liked about AoS/DoS (I mean, come on, easy game and then you find out he's...I won't spoil anything.)

22:20 - I wish more games had centaur enemies/characters. Maybe I just haven't played/viewed enough games, but I feel like centaurs are an under-appreciated mythological creature in gaming.

The 1st boss is tougher & much more bad ass looking than the 1st boss in Kirby's Dreamland.

Solid effort.. the main character looks like a football dad or a football player on his day off who forgot take his gear off.

Last night I downloaded the game, and the BGM was in a separate folder, but in a weird file format called PTCOP. I spent well into last night aimlessly investigating all I could about that file format, and finally found that I could open it with a program called PXTune... that runs on Windows, and I have a Mac. NBD; I can run it using Wine. What's more, PXTune can export these files to .wav files, and from there on out it should be easy to get MP3s.

Why hasn't the OST for this game been uploaded yet?!
