Alvarez, just wondering if you have read the book on Mother Angelica’s list of favorites called Stories about Purgatory and what they reveal”. I’m about half way through it and it’s kind of terrifying (probably not the best selection for bedtime reading 😰)

I've heard of this elderly gentleman who is so devoted to the Holy souls He prays 50 or sometimes OVER 50 rosaries EVERY DAY and all though the night WITHOUT FAIL for the poor suffering souls !! I was already praying for the poor souls , but when I heard about this man , and the zeal he has to help the souls, he inspired me to pray even more ! He has had souls help him with many favors and the souls have even saved his life when he was being robbed ! He says that the Holy souls visit him , souls from all times, people that lived during the conquest in Mexico, French , Indians, Asians, people from all over and all times .And even though most of them , don't speak Spanish he's somehow able to speak to them ! Mostly what they want are rosaries and Masses . Sometimes he wakes up at night to find his room filled with the Holy souls who wake him up and ask him to pray the rosary for them ! How I wish I could meet him !! He's TRULY blessed !

I started praying for the souls in Purgatory a few years ago. Although I am a cradle Catholic I really did not understand Purgatory or the importance of praying for those who have died until a few years ago. I pray every day for them and have a mass said for them every month. I also ask Our Blessed Mother, St. Joseph and the Holy Saints and Holy Archangels/Angels to intercede for the souls in Purgatory.

@@UniquelyMary Not sure if you would call them blessings or what. I have a better understanding of the Spiritual world. I have a better understanding of death. I have gotten the urge to pray or offer masses said for people who died years ago (even from when I was a child or teenager).

I bought a book entitled “Devotion to the Holy Souls in Purgatory” (by Fr. Romeo S. Hitosis, SSP and Fr. Domie Guzman, SSP ) where the 100 Requiem Prayer, Prayer in Honor of the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Mother, Twelve-year Devotion for the Souls in Purgatory by St. Bridget and other prayers for tthe holy souls are already compiled.

I just finished my first two first months of the 15 St.Bridget prayers. 10 more months to go, they have brought my spiritual life to a whole different level. I'm not sure if anyone else feels this, but when I sin it literally hurts. I'm looking forward to finishing my year, then doing the 12 year St Bridget prayer's.

@@marksilva2929 I am doing 12 and 15 prayers of Bridget and chaplet of st Gertrude but I admit sometimes it's a challenge. I hae been doing 12 and 15 for about 4 months and then I stopped. Now I got new year rssolution to push through the entire year. Fingers crossed I wont waver again.

@@caracal82 it's really nice to hear that someone is doing it. I've got until July 7th, then I will do the 12. On those days Im so busy, I keep it on my phone under notes. I'll say it at work on my break, I'll say it in bed if I worked 16 hours and have to get up the next morning. The one thing I struggle with some days is rushing it. I need to slow down and really meditate on the prayers. You'll do it, I'll pray for you. It's the one prayer I make a priority a day. You'll do it this year!! There's days were I just want to go to bed, but so far I've stuck to it. Awesome, thank you for the message!!!!

@@marksilva2929 you said you have it in notes on your phone? I have phone apps for that. St Gertrude Chaplet I even have voiced app where I can listen to it. So I pray it on my way home from work. Maybe you could look into it. God bless you bro. On top of these I also pray 4 rosaries every day so I know exactly what you mean by RUSHING IT. That's my greatest struggle. I often let my mind wander off and start praying on auto pilot. Then I have to refocus and pour my heart into prayer again. Satan reaaally makes it hard to keep praying from the heart.

Visiting cemetery, decorating with flowers, candles and praying for the souls is a great honour that we can give. We can pray to the souls for our intentions, they will sure pray for us.

I have only found out about this page it's very good two years ago my friend ask me to go to a cementary with him I agreed he goes to bless all the graves to pray for the holy souls who have no one to pray for them it's was beautiful wee had enough holy water to bless the graves it was a very old grave yard what a day it was will never forget it

I pray for all the Poor Souls everyday and feel sad if I am unable to for whatever reason. We have a National Shrine dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory on Berwyn, Illinois. I enrolled my husband and family members. Requiem Mass is said every Wednesday at 6:30pm. We need to pray for the Poor Souls, it is our responsibility!!! St Gertrude Prayer, Mass, Divine Mercy and Rosary are very powerful prayers. I say them all everyday

There is also a Chaplet of the Holy Wounds for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. In the large beads: Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ to heal the wounds of our souls. In the small beads:My Jesus, pardon and mercy, through the merits of Your Sacred Wounds. A rosary is used here.

Debbie O is correct. It was St Gertrude the Great who supposedly was given a prayer that would release 1000 souls. By the way her Feast Day is Nov. 16th. Everyone PLEASE Pray her chaplet at least once on the 16th of November.

Also have Gregorian Masses said for these Holy Souls. The BVM will escort them to heaven on the 30 th day. I have said them for all family.members. Also make certain that the sources of Masses are legitimate.

Christmas is the day when most souls are delivered; then on our Lord's feasts, our Lady's feasts, and great saints. Souls receive much great graces from prayers for them on their borthdays, day of Baptism, birthdays and death anniversary.

I will often offer up aches and pains for conversion of sinners and/or mercy for the holy souls in Purgatory. I will offer up chores (laundry, sweeping the floors, cleaning the kitchen, washing dishes, etc) for mercy on the souls in Purgatory.

Thank you Brother... explained very clear...Added to the prayers you said, reciting Psalm 51,. Psalm 130,. Luke 1:46-55 (Mary's Song of Praise) also helps. Offer our day to day chores we do, our pain, sufferings for the souls in purgatory. Our pain n suffering should not go in vain. Pray this prayer everyday--- "By God's blessings let the departed souls join at heaven. Eternal Father, for the sake of the most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus Christ, be merciful to the departed souls. Amen." 1 Our Father.....1 Hail, Mary....1 Glory be.... (Repeat 5 times)

Your site just came to my phone this morning. Last night, in the early hours of Dec 24 while I was checking out products on one phone, my 2nd phone on my bedside table rang very softly for no reason. I picked it up several times, put it down, the soft ringing started again. It was a pleading from purgatory wanting me to stop doing what I was doing and to pray for them. I did the rosary of St Gertrude prayer. The phone stopped ringing as soon as I started this prayer. Thank you Holy Souls for prompting me, it was amazing.

You mentioned the Marians of the Immaculate Conception. I highly recommend joining the Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception through them. It is the approved way to be enrolled and comes with the blue scapular. Happy to discuss if you are interested.

Another option for having masses said for your loved ones is to call your local diocese and ask for the contact info of retired priests. These retired priests continue to say daily masses, usually could use some extra money (as they are now living on pensions), and generally have more availability for taking mass intentions.

All of this is fairly new to me, but that being said, I believe!. I feel that anyone who wants a worthwhile mission in what ever situation one may be in, homebound ect... it's a beautiful way to be about God's business. And,,, praise be to God, He gives us His help in, number one,,, His VERY own mother, number two the saints,,,, ready willing and able, number three one another, believes. Remember not their offences and negligence's, but be mindful of Thy loving mercy which is from all Eternity. The condition of prayer is that you ask. The time of merit is oner for the Poor Souls, so they can't pray anymore; but, what they Can do is offer up their suffering, which is very efficatious! But...they can't do it of their own volition! ---you must ASK THEM!!! ...Yes, I asked them to offer it up, and they really helped me! They are my friends and family, especially those who suffer most or have no one to pray for them!

@@UniquelyMary the Seraphic Society offers masses, including perpetual masses. I have offered gregorian masses for my brothers and sister. Even tho they are alive, (one has now died). I offered it for my son too. A priest told me i could do this.i also offer perpetual masses for my family frequently and friends, the Poor Souls, for priests.etc...usa, california, los angeles, etc. Anything!

Marys gets traditional Irish, Vietnamese, or a yellow traditional priests that will give everybody Holy Communion on the tongue only, on their knees, with a patent. It is a matter of conscience that I dont touch the True Body and Blood of Jesus in Holy Communion. St. Marys is in Santa Maria, California, where Our LDy of Santa Maria appeared in the 1990s! I moved here because it is suppose to be a safe refuge, but everyone is a fallen away catholic! Please pray for us daily! You are a good man, and I like your ideas and do many of them! Please pray I can get a priest to bring me communion and confession daily at home! Disabled. Mostly homebound. Thank you!

One can get Holy Mass offered via ACN (Aid to the Church in Need) - Single Masses, Tridiums and Gregorian. These are offered by priests around the world and who are in much need of these offerings due to the poverty stricken areas that they operate in. Hope this helps and God Bless to all.

Besides prayers, you can buy B1 for nerve damage magnesium and iron. I have the same issue. Stay away from chocolate, most wines and caffeine. I pray the precious blood of Jesus to cover you. offer all your indulgences to the souls in purgatory.

The Franciscan Missions have a nice online site to arrange masses. Do offer Gregorian masses. The masses are said overseas and support missionaries.

I pray the Novena of Divine Mercy and the rosary daily. And, I find offering masses expensive. I just offer the mass. I did not know we can offer the spiritual communions for the souls in purgatory. I participate in the virtual masses daily and devote it for the conversion of sinners/ and/ or for the souls in purgatory. I try to be balanced in my prayers. However, buying masses is very expensive unless one buys the a annual masses.

i say the rosary daily for souls in purgatory lately. I give especial prayers for souls who have been in lowest level of purgatory since the time of crucifixion. And I have special intention from those who needs a rosary for immediate rekease from purgatory. Different feeling for both groups. But I dont know if my rosary will be heard since Im not in a state of grace right now.
