Robert Wise produced and directed the 1965 drama film The Sound of Music, which focuses on Maria, played by Julie Andrews, a rebellious young Austrian lady preparing to become a nun at Salzburg's Nonnberg Abbey in 1938. Her naivety and youthful enthusiasm pose a few concerns. As a result, Mother Abbess sends Maria to Captain Georg von Trapp's home to look after his seven children. Julie and her on-screen children just recently reunited when she was honored with the 48th Life Achievement Award last June which brought fans tears online. The film is based on a real life story of a family who fled Austria during World War II.
