What an utter joy to watch a family sharing such fun together! I've been to Salzburg twice and have left a bigger part of my heart there each time. It warms my heart to know that nearly 50 years later, "The Sound Of Music" is still spreading its goodness and values to untold numbers of people. Your love for it and family clearly shows. Well done and thanks so much for sharing!
Now I see what these "The-Sound-of-Music-Tours" you run across in Salzburg are after - did not know the film (which is really forgotten with us in Germanay. Thanks a lot.
Excellent “remake” but where are the other six children?! Haha. It must have been extremely difficult to capture every scene with the right lighting, weather, and absence of other people. Way to go!
This was very well done. I've done many of these myself in the Los Angeles area for other films and I know how difficult it is to match the shots from the film to the "now" views. I'm in Salzburg now and if I had realized so many locations from the film are here, I probably would have done the same thing you have! :-)
+You Simon this video is too good it sucks that you cannot watch the full movie because I typed the Sound Of Music full movie and clicked on it and it was just a picture )-:
Yes it is, easy to find with a map. Only the road where Julie Andrews is dancing with her guitar is just outside Salzburg, can't drive there with a car.
Robert the bike and motorcycle clip at 1:48 is on the East side of Mondsee right? or is it somewhere else? just want to make sure I have it in the right spot on my free map www.bigboytravel.com/europe/austria/salzburg/soundofmusicfilmlocations/
