AJH is one of the top quality manufacturers in Eurorack these days, IMHO. Definitely on par with Serge, Joranalogue, Mutable Instruments, Tiptop and Verbos. Congratz to such great sounding achievements! A perfect balance of conservative tradition vs. visionary innovation. This is my personal opinion. I am Professor at the university of music Nuremberg, Germany. My expertise is in recording studio techniques, music production and sound synthesis. Owning a huge modular system, I still wish I had a complete AJH system at my lab, too.
Thank you very much, your opinion is appreciated. Achieving the right quality of sound, construction, and usability without compromise is the priority here.
AJH epitomises the musical beauty of modular. That on itself is unique. There are individual lead sounds here with dynamic control that would put many non-modular synths to shame. It’s all about the music.
First time seeing this video, and brand of synth! Initial impressions: Very Moog-like, with a dash of ZynAddSubFX, and Pigments. Well done AJH! Encore!
holy @($*$(&@$ really impressive sound programming. Amazing work on the synthesizer but the sound designers in this video could probably wrangle a string and some duct tape to sound amazing
Thank you very much, that's a great compliment. Just the one sound programmer in the video, myself @DreamsOfWires. Much credit goes to the instrument though, it's difficult to make it sound bad. The string and the duct tape idea sounds very BBC Radiophonic Workshop, which I'm also a big fan of.
wonderful demo! I'm considering buy your vco but something is questioning me, you sequence vco with keystep pro and key step, because your vco pitch cv is -5v +5V if i'm right and the keystep is 0 to 10v, I don't understand how you manage to have fullrange of note? thanks for your answer.
Thanks for your interest and your question. I often use the Precision Voltages module between the Keysteps and the VCOs, as like many controllers and sequencers, they don't produce negative voltages, meaning they're not able to reach the lowest notes. Here's a video showing how to overcome this limitation with the Precision Voltages: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nKsa8eJJo1E.html
