When we first moved to Coos Bay, from Rhode Island, we went to Sunset Beach, and our youngest daughter, who was 7 yrs old, was running along the edge of the water, and, unbeknownst to us, a newpaper reporter/photographer took her photo, and asked our permission to use it in the newspaper. We granted that and it was great. She was a celebrity in her new school!
Hello from Florence, Or I retired early, left the rat race in Sacramento, Ca after 30 years. Living the final chapter of life in peace and the amazing beauty of the Oregon Coast. Florence is a small rural community that respects one another and the environment.
Robert you are the very best picture and sound on RU-vid. Does not matter if I am watching on iPhone iPad or smart tv always quality. Keep up the great work
You are seriously one of, if not the best travel channels when it comes to Unites State's videos and exploration. I don't think I know anyone who has been to as many places, as many times as you have. Been watching you for years and plan on doing so forever. Thank you, genuinely, for the hours and hours of entertainment.
The reason that Oregon beaches are public owned and accessible to all is because of laws that were passed in the early 1970’s. At that time, there were so many Californians buying up land for cheap and building condos on the coastline that the legislature had to enact these laws to keep the beaches public. I am a native Oregonian and love the Oregon coast. My ancestors came to Oregon in the 1840’s.
Thank you Robert. Oregon coast Hwy 101 is my favorite! (Even better than California coast). Amazing scenery and the Oregon sandy beaches are unbeatable. Been coming down from Canada for many years.
Yeah, Fred Meyer store is ,for sure, one of the most popular stores on the left side of the coast! 🤗Oregon is so beautiful! Have a wonderful Memorial Day!!🤗🏞🌺
Just watched this video last week and yesterday were in Coos Bay Oregon. We had dinner at the restaurant that was a church. You were right. Good food. Only thing is they painted the outside of the building. It’s now blue. Keep up the good videos. My wife and I enjoy them
I remember when I first crossed into Oregon, the sun was going down already, and I actually slept at the Fred Meyer you stopped at in the beginning of the video. What followed were days of going up the coast, barely going 50 miles in a day because there are soooo many things to see. It was amazing to me getting to walk on the most beautiful beaches I've ever laid eyes on yet I would be the only one on the beach. The further north I got the more people I saw as I got closer to Portland but the beauty never stops. Imo everyone needs to drive the 101 up the entire coast (I drove it from San Francisco to the Olympic Peninsula) but at the very least take the Oregon coast. You will not be disappointed
Hi Robert and Ili...great vid as always. We went through here back in 2006...probably took 10k pictures! BUT, I don't think I ever mentioned before...we just LOVE your music. The mix and arraignments are always spot on!
I live in Coos Bay. Love to see you visiting the coast of Charleston/Coos Bay. Stayed at that RV park many times. Next time you come through visit the Espresso Mill & Bakery. Great coffee and food!
It has been about a year since I last saw one of your videos Robert. Your video getting Minne 4 came up yesterday, and it was nice to see your videos again.
Hello Traveling Robert , this was an OUTSTANDING and AMAZING ride up the Oregon coast and the incredible and awesome attractions. Looking forward to seeing what's next.
Always nice to see parts of the PNW. I remember Chris and G, i liked their channel. I wish them well; it is a bummer they have been pulled. But i understand why.
I enjoyed this video so much. Thank you for taking us along. I have never been out west before. I did live in Texas once so that is as far west I have been. I have always wanted to travel out west but since I am now 82 years old, I doubt I will ever. I hope you have and your wife have a happy Memorial Day. Havw safe travels
Que placentero fue ver el recorrido que hiciste por esa costa. Fue como si estuviera ahí. Gracias por mostrar esos lugares ( que nunca los voy a poder visitar).
Fun to see you in Coos Bay.....I live in North Bend so I recognize where you are....Boardwalk fish and chips are super good and I wish I could have seen you walking around or at the casino....looks like a fun trip
I live in the New England coast Plymouth Massachusetts area, and this pacific coast looks amazing 👏 I gotta get out there sometime for sure, thanks for the video my friend!!❤
I’m from scenic Bellingham, WA. , obviously it reminds me of there a lot too , a must see drive in WA. is Chuckanut Drive, it is breathtaking, jutting sandstone cliffs overlooking the bay.. with oyster farms and lavender fields in the quirky small towns nearby. Check it out! You won’t be disappointed 🤩
As residents of San Francisco Bay Area, we are very familiar with that marine layer. Not a fan. Won’t keep us from another trip up the coast this time in our little Airstream. Thank you for showing us many beautiful places we missed last time. Great video!
Hey Robert I’m a Cuban American Chef and I represent PINTON, I would like to thank you for using our products. Please, don’t hesitate to contact me if you need some more. I also have Olán to do a road trip soon.
I thought I recognized a few of the sites like I've seen them in a past video? So this was filmed in Sept 2022? Sometimes I get confused when your video's are not in order by date... But I enjoy every one of them. So glad Illy is with you more these days. I have never towed our little trailer but after she towed yours all the way from Vegas to your home in Florida I think I'll try it too.
I was literally walking where you walked a month ago. Cape Blanco, Port Orford, ate at the Crazy Norwegian. If you like pies or jam try the the Marion Berry.
We take this trip every couple years as we live in northern CA. The only difference is the Dungeness crabbing we enjoy doing when in Coos bay or Bandon.
Ah, the Oregon coast--how can you beat such a beautiful drive on the edge of the continent? So many neat places to check out. And you had (mostly) great weather, which is really a plus. It's worth mentioning how nice the Oregon State Parks are--clean, well maintained, and options for all kinds of overnight stays (I love those yurts!) Looking forward to seeing reports from the Alaska trip...happy trails!
A little windy? Been there when recorded gusts were 75 mph, that was just a breeze - Misseda grea small store in Langlois - - - Also Boice Cope campground - - Great campground near a lake and over a dune to the ocean. Rain in Oregon? Say it ain't so! Average along coast 75 to 100 inches a year. You missed some great places to eat in Gold Beach and Port Orford, (and a great independent brewery in Langlois. Brookings (my friend owns one in Brookings) You miss a lot Robert -
