When my Mom passed away, I hadnt slept in days and after collapsing and dozing off for the first time in a while....I woke up to this song. I dont know that it was meant to be. But it will always have a special place in my head and heart.
My friend, I don't know you, but after I spoke to my mom for the 4th time that day...she passed away suddenly. Nothing in this world is meaningless. I am truly sorry for your loss. I know how you feel.
Us the fans know their worth. They will only get more and more fans, don't be mistaken. They really deserve to be happy and have a wonderful life because of what they sacrificed to give us in their pursue of art and expression.
Every time I listen to this song, I think of my best friend who committed suicide the week The Hunter was being released. Since the album leaked a week ahead, I sent it to him and he got to listen to it before he passed away. He definitely liked it. Wish he was still with us but I know he’s looking down and smiling. Thank you for everything Mastodudes🤙🏽
@@davidbays6717 Seriously, for a few years I didn't realize it wasn't that well received, but I thought it was great and felt that it was refreshing that it wasn't a concept album. I still remember being instantly hooked as soon as I heard Black Tongue.
@@nodrogkram you're definitely not the only one, it's not my personal favorite but I think it's super underrated and even has a few of my all time favorites: Black Tongue, Octopus Has No Friends, Bedazzled Fingernails, The Sparrow, and The Ruiner from the deluxe.
I heard Troy mention in an interview that bc there's so much going on in their songs, with Brann's crazy drum fills and Brent and Bill's insane leads and layers of amazing guitar parts, he has to keep the bass lines simple. So basically, he has to hold back bc there's literally too much talent in this band lol
@@haydentronnes9539 yea I saw that as well. He's mentioned it a few times. I believe it was in the making of Emperor Of Sand, he said he would sometimes purposely write simple bass lines and then have to simplify them even more later when the other parts were added. I think he shows off his bass chops a little more in Killer Be Killed though...
This song is the best! Brann is such an awesome drummer and singer, he really is an incredible musician. Troy is also an awesome singer and bass player I love his style such a cool guy!!! Love this band!!!
@@egorsozonov7425 so here’s the thing homer. Dinosaurs lived both on land and in the….come on you know this….come on….you got it….yep, under water. If they didn’t come from “water dwelling” dinosaurs then they wouldn’t be here. I understand where you’re coming from but did you know that there are 5 gilled and 6 gilled sharks? 6 gilled sharks are dinosaurs my dude. Now are they playing to 6 gilled sharks?? Don’t know, don’t care. Fish are dinosaurs bud.
i saw them back in 2018 in Houston at the White Oak Music Hall, small venue which i prefer over large venues, fucking badass. They are so fucking underrated one of the best original bands out there
I've discovered them late I feel. Since January of 2021. I had heard some of them in the past but early January of this year I tried out some more after work one night and got the hook in me for sure. Have all their albums to date minus Hushed and Grim. Listen to all of the discography every week since....can't get enough. Love these guys.
this band has talent, i love this band since leviathan , and are so very unique. yes there is a special "mastodon" feeling. dont think its comparable to any other band
@Crackracket Can you please add description of their conversation leading up to this video? It would make it so much more meaningful for potential fans.
I find it strange that they barely film B.Hinds. Speciale during his solos... and this is not the first video where this happens. Anyone know the reason for this?
