Im watching this from my Colchester home. I was a bit young for Punk (I was 11 in 77) so Two-Tone was the first youth cult I was able to get into. Mum wouldnt entertain the idea of me going to this gig, and I didnt have an NUS card, so wouldnt have got in anyway. This is one of the greatest live shows Ive ever seen. The energy, the anger, the joy, the musicianship the stage presence. Everything about this is absolutely brilliant. It doesnt age, it doesnt lose any of its urgency, its absoilutely timeless brilliance. I'll still be listening to this in30 years time, and it will still sound as fresh and sharp as it did over 40 years ago.
Watched this on TV as a fledging 17 year old Chelmsford mod. I really wanted to go to this gig in Colchester as it was only 20 miles away but as my scooter was not legal on the road it meant going on the train but I had run into trouble at a previous gig in Witham and had to hide on the floor of the train as skins hunted for me !so I was too scared to go to this one 😢
If you notice Brad drops his drum stick from his left hand on the intro of Do the dog...but he just keeps it going and pulls another one out just before the drum roll brings Terry Hall in...RIP Brad...7 years ago today 🏁🙏🏼

So glad someone posted this. I saw the Specials at their last US tour show (Speaks Night Club, Long Island) in March 1980. Basically the same show as this one. First concert I ever attended and still the best. They were amazing.
watching them perform It Doesnt Make It Alright, an early Anit- racist hit, and then going into Concrete Jungle above the Essex Anthem, I so wish I'd been there.
Remember watching this on tele big specials fan only 11 years old So a rare thing in them days as not much tv coverage Cant believe still watching it nearly 45 years later
