What an adventure this one turned out to be. From Google maps trying to get me lost, cables not working for my battery banks, slopping through ankle deep mud, scrambling over wet slippery rocks to the base of the falls and my phone battery going flat just as i was getting to Bangalow trying to find my way back home again.
What should have been a 2.5hr drive turned into a 3hr drive thanks to Google trying to make me go down fire trails with locked gates and roads that just don't exist there anymore. When I did finally find the trailhead I wasn't going to just go to the top of the falls and head home. All up 9km down to the base of the falls and back through lush wet rainforest and extremely sloppy mud that you can here the suction as you lift your foot walking through the at times unavoidable ankle deep mud.
Would I go back and do it again? Bloody oath I would, but make sure you get there really early before it gets busy like Twin Falls.
