We don't have Target in the UK and I haven't seen any of the usual importers carrying this, yet. But I think it would be fairly easy for anyone with even a little modding talent to chop out that 'Waterslide' seating area, and then put in some actual seats and control panels for your 7'' figures
In the movie trailer the cockpit hold Batman and two of the flashes.(the scene where one of them takes a picture of superwoman for their kids) This is actually closer to 4 inch scale. I'm definitely getting this for my 1/18 figs.
The Spin Master 4 inch batman will go very well with this batwing (closer to actual scale). Mod in a couple of seats with cardboards or foams will look real great.
I'm thinking I'm going to get the Spin Master one just to complete the set (Batman, Batmobile, Batwing, White Knight Batcycle). I don't feel the need to get the McFarlane one because it's not the Batwing I really want. And that's not me saying "the only good Batwing is the '89 Batwing!" But I look at it like this; I want a full '89 set. So now we have the Batmobile, and with a bit of paint on the belt we'll have an '89 Keaton Batman. But the '89 Batwing had a very distinct look to it that the new one doesn't have. I feel like the Flash Batwing is either something that looks like it could have come from the design style of BvS-light, or an attempt to make a real life BTAS Batwing.
Why are vehicles in toy form different than they are in shows and movies? The trailer showed that the Batwing can carrie 3 people because both Flashes were in the back.
I just got this online as a standby...if I ever come across extra money maybe I'll get the mcfarlane one. Ill probably customize this one a bit to add a little silver and seats. For the price I dont mind it being my batwing
Scale-wise it's actually More in scale with the 4 inch figures for TRUE SCALE but none of the manufacturers seems to hold to accurate scale which is extremely annoying
My main complaint with this spin Master version is that the entire canopy is translucent. When realistically only the smaller portion in the front should be see-through. And the rest should be solid black like the rest of the Batwing. If you look at the likely computer generated image on the box. You'll actually see that the entire canopy is painted and not translucent. They essentially have the canopy being the black material as the rest of the Batwing. And then the part that's supposed to actually be the windshield is painted that blue windshield color. Similar to previous Mattel and spin master 12-in batmobiles. I would have been much happier with this product if the canopy was done the way it looks on the box, and not fully translucent like the actual toy is. To me this batwing looks good, until you get any sort of decent lighting on it. And see through the translucent canopy.
If the canopy was done like it's shown on the box, it wouldn't matter that there's no internal seating details. Because you wouldn't actually see inside it with the canopy closed. Similar to the spin master and Mattel batmobiles made for the 12-in figures.
I'm just going to tape off the Back part and respray the whole thing with a Matte black.... As far as the canopy there's a lot of room in there for customization.
I have a question though, did anybody actually get the 1989 Batmobile at the $60 asking price? Because I have a feeling that the original price was going to be $150 and they caught the mistake and they pulled it to make it look like it was already sold out. No way in hell that that many people bought it within seconds
I think it was a lot of scalpers following your logic. "This thing is way too cheap" I got the Amazon JL Batmobile and it was only $60, that thing shot up to nearly $200. I imagine scalpers are expecting that even more so with all the 89 fans.
Without seeing a review, I think the McFarlane is pretty reasonably priced, especially considering what the Ghost Rider car was going to be. But it's just not in my budget. However this definitely is. I'm planning to strategically tape off the canopy and hit the whole thing with a matte black primer. With another $10-15 in paint supplies I think this will really look good with my whole hodgepodge Batman display. I hope someone makes an interior to pop in.
retailers overseas may be hesitant to purchase in Target U.S. becoz the box is big as well 😂 but this spinmaster batwing is really a good alternative just expect batsy to be laying in a coffin. Mcfarlane batwing is overpriced - no lights and moving parts such as spinning turbines or propellers underneath.
I’m always gonna find it incredibly dumb how McFarlane priced the batwing at $250 when it’s very similar to the spin master, except it’s over 5x the price.
I'm shocked the McFarlane Fandom hasn't mentioned McFarlane gave FANS CLOTH BATMAN CAPES! I just now had to also order Ben Affleck/Batman and Bike set to go along with Michael Keaton and Batmobile set.... both Batman's finally gets cloth capes from Todd McFarlane 😊finally
It looks rather plain on the inside. There is no seat, no dashboard and control panels like if he was operating it. All he does is lie down in there while the batwing is on auto pilot.
So I can't believe you can say with a straigth face that you don't see much more details on the mcfarlane one , paint details is completely different with weathering , all kind of carved details .. what your saying makes no sense . This look like it's worth 40$ and from what I seen from the mcfarlane it look 250$ and a collector piece vs a toy. It's pretty evident in pictures
