Cancer. Heart Attack. My life is fast closing in. I am immersing myself in the music of my youth. It makes my heart ache. It makes my heart jump for joy. Bless all the Spinners, for their continued bringing us joy; even though their lives have passed.
I am also dealing with cancer and a recent heart attack. So I know something of what your going through. I also love the music of my youth which certainly includes The Spinners of the 70s. Good Luck and God Bless! 🙏
My dear friends, this is style at its finest. These boys always put a smile on my face. I need all the help I can get 2024. Thank you, my dear friends. Love you all.
The Spinners were a hit machine games people play, I'll be around then came you with Dionne Warwick Rubberband Man. T h e i r dance moves made The Temptations look crippled

This is my favorite video on all of the internet. The Spinners performance, the detail in the choreography, the live band, the texture of the video, the switching of the cameras. There was magic made that day in that studio during this performance.
You described the video and all that it entailed so well! Philippe Wynne gave each and every song he did like it was the last time he'd ever sing and dance, and it feels like it was just for me!
Phillippe Wynn was surely one of a kind.Been gone over 30 yrs,but never forgotten.Rest in Peace Bobby Henderson, and the rest of the wonderful R&B artists who have passed on.
Phillippe is still singing every day in Detroit hes over 70. Grandfather. A dear friend of mine. His favorite is "Love don't love nobody" we make him sing Sadie.
Phillippe Wynn was one of the original hype men. I saw them perform in Disneyland in 1974 & he blew me away. I couldn't take my eyes off him. His connection to his audience is extraordinary. He just can't help but grab that mic and head out, dancing all the way, and singing like it's his last song. He was a big guy & out-danced the others the whole way through. I vividly remember his performance to this day. He was phenomenal.
I love this ❤️ how could you not love the spinners. Phillipe Wynn of my heart.he was not just a Singer, He was the Ultimate Entertainer‼️ I miss them so much ❤️
I fell in love with the Spinners sound back in the 70's. What a great group with so many fantastic songs. And here they show why -- singing and dancing so well. Philippe Wynne is so cool -- I wish he could come back from the dead because we need some of this medicine really badly right now in this fcked up world.
God people...Didn't we all just take this greatness for granted growing up? I think back on how this music was fresh when I was young, hearing it on the radio for the first time, man... the Spinners could lift your soul! So very grateful for these guys.
I love in the beginning how Phillipe was in step despite taking off his glasses, pulling out a hanky, and wiping his face, then putting his glasses back on. Professionalism back in those days. New Edition is the last of this dying breed of song and dance groups.
I noticed the same thing......he didn't miss a STEP while taking his glasses off and wiping his face. The Spinners were EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL..... look at their Choreography !!!!!!! I love the OLD SCHOOL GROUPS :)
The Jewish music industry determines what is played, get's attention/charts and what does not. The public would prefer this kind of music but the Jews want to give us a certain vibe with certain kinds of music to put us in a certain kind of mood. The 70's was the feel good decade because the 60's was a revolutionary decade. They needed feel good music to make people forget about revolutions so they would not ruin Jew world order plans. These days it is about gays and terror. They do not want feel good music. They do not want you to fall in love with the singers with is why no one can sing! Is Pharell Al Green?
"Come on little girl, bring sunshine to my world!" If I put all the ad libs of Philippe Wynne together, I'd have a huge book of poetry. He was sooo unique! I will find you in Heaven, just to hear you sing again.
this song has so much heart and soul....it touched me as a young child and still as a radio dj today!!!! god bless henry retiring after 70 years just this year rip to all the other members
What a fine group of brothers singing some real good music. God I hate that they are not touring presently...... These were my boys! When I was last in battle in Iraq we had this CD blaring in the head set "One of a kind"....... Makes me feel a certain closeness to my men who died over there..... I will see theme in the resurrection and we will finish the course of the song " One of a kind"......RIP....Sgt Robert Berkey,....."Too Tall", Cpl Mike Wiley...."Willie P", Lt. Donald Burns...."Musk Rat" and Msg Gordy M. Jefferson.... "Corn Bread" Special Ops 5/2
November 3, 2023: The Spinners (and others) will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (finally!) Congratulations to the only surviving member: Henry Fambrough. (on our left)
Thanks to legendary producer and song writer Thom Bell, who brought them to Philly, and recorded them with house band MFSB,, ...Bell producing and co-writing with Linda Creed revived the Spinners career, after their only big Detroit Motown hit- Its a Shame, - Stevie wrote and damn near played everything on it but after that it was all about Philadelphia Int records - this was Thom Bell's biggest success producing and writing along with the Sylistics- and right after the Delphonics....with nealy all the great vocal groups, you still need great songwriters and producers or you'd never near of them. Only a few had their own in house genius creative guru.
Hawes,Simmons & Jefferson wrote most of the Spinners songs.Thom & Linda Creed wrote for the Stylistics.Thom told those 3 writers to think Spinners.Watch Spinners unsung
This was "the song" from the first real relationship of my life...we even saw the Spinners perform this live at Disneyland in the summer of 1973. Wow...
I was there in 1974 & saw them. Phillippe Wynn was one of the original hype men .. without even trying. That performance had such a huge impact on me. I vividly remember it to this day.
💭 Phillippe was a Awesome Singer, Performer, and Entertainer!!... You can tell that he had that Awesomeness or, Swag in him... (There's no faking what he had!) 😎🎤🎵✨👍🏼
My mom saw The Spinners back when Bobbie Smith was their lead singer in the 60s. Back before Phillipe Wynne, when they were known as the Motown Spinners in Detroit. I was 10 when this song came out. still one of my faves
Thank God that we have Classic Hits and Oldies Radio Stations across the nation and the net which provide this kind of music. Here in Erie, I'm grooving to this song on WMCE FM 88.5, playing the greatest hits of all time.
Cool Suzanne! I 50 years old and I have felt out of place many MANY times with the current music/radio scene. There just never seemed to be any place for me on Erie radio. I grew up with Erie radio, gave it my heart and it left me. Thanks to the many great people at WMCE AM/FM!
One of a kind love affair is a love that you never forget a love that takes you through the rest of your life that one person in your life you never forget love that endless love
Man, I have loved the Spinners since I was a kid! For some reason, I started singing this tune last night and just had to get on YT and FB share it all with ya'll! Love this live version with the band leader and the group dancin! "One of a kind love affair...Makes a lame walk...Makes a blind man talk about seein' again!"
This song plays in my brain. Now for days. Phillippe is my friend and I keep thinking about him. Hes well living in Detroit. Retired. But still sings walking down our street.
This song been ringing in my head last week or so! I been singing it! I was a little kid when it came out it just had something bout it that caught my attention! My favorite spinners song! Sadie is number 2! I’ll be around number 3! Could it be I’m falling in love number 4! List goes on!
damn!!! all these years later, when I hear this type of music, I;'m right back in the seventies all over again. there's no period in my life that i'd rather be in!!!
i am glad to see the group sing this song live the original recording heard on the radio back in 1973 i thought a four letter curse word was used and many complaints came to the offices of atlantic records who re-released the song the actual word mistakenly heard was hug ! easly heard in this video spinners thanks for all the memories !
What's strange is , I saw these guys at the Premiere in Sterling Hgt. Mi. in the 70's. I was blown away by how many hits they had (I never know who sings what just from listing to my car radio) had no idea , most of the tunes I loved so much was theirs. And I also didn't know until recently from researching their story that they are from Detroit and were a part of Motown! Really? Motown never mentioned them , that I can recall . It was all about the Temptations, Four Tops and the Supremes!
I saw the Spinners live at the New York State Fair in 2000! Phillipe Wynn was gone by then, but the band was tight, and they danced in blue tuxes in 90-degree weather without losing their cool...
oh my god I saw them on unsung and I've been coming to youtube since watching there performances. it reminds me of my mother and father because I grew up on old r&b. they don't make music like they use to !
Growing up I loved hearing these guys on the radio. It has only been recently that I have been able to see performances like this. Wow, You always heard about what good dancers the Temptations were (and they did great choreography) but I think the Spinners were just as good. Thanks for posting these.
