The Spirit Bomb Theme Extended (Goku's Spirit Bomb) 

I take comfort in knowing that I was one of, like, MILLIONS of kids who would run home from school to watch this. Ahhh, the childhood memories of a 34yo.

Credit should be given to Michael Lloyd Smith and Scott Morgan for the writing and composition of this very track. They worked at CakeMix Recordings / Faulconer Productions and are the true talent behind 90% of Faulconer Productions DBZ soundtrack. Bruce personally only was responsible for a few tracks early on when his music company took over DBZ in 1999.

Seriously, I can't watch dragon Ball z without this soundtrack.

There's just something so deep and enriching about Bruce Faulconer's DBZ themes... So mysterious, so mystical, and yet when I listen, it feels like something I've waited for my whole life. Indescribable.

1:37 is when I absolutely lose my shit. Favorite part.

*Frieza: what on Earth is he doing?* Me: but you havent been to earth yet!!?

This theme is a remnant of an era past. Back when we didn't just expect a new transformation would fix everything and save the day. This spirit bomb attempt actually made you feel something, watching everyone put their life on the line to protect Goku for one last attack.

"Go ahead Gohan, do what you have to do, don't worry about me"

I could visualise the flowers, the fish, & whole planets giving Goku their energy. So epic. The world could use a Goku right now.

This theme was so good especially during The Cell Games in my opinion.

4:12: singing that sounds holy, the voices of the collected human spirits. 4:31: the serenity of nature, the energy from the nature Around 5:20 the focus goes to the reality, the danger that is lingering. 5:50: the spirits win.

And this why I will love faulconer's soundtrack the best. Til the day I die

Sucks that new generations will grow up with Kai and will never experience the entirety of the full uncut series and Bruce's music.

ahhh the good olé days of early Toonami; the 90s and early 2000s was the best time to be a kid.

When I first watched episode 109 of Dragonball Super, I immediately paused the moment Goku went to do his spirit bomb and put on this theme. Nothing will ever beat Bruce's theme while Goku is charging a spirit bomb.

This was, without any question or shadow of a doubt the best theme in dragon ball z.

I went to the store and spent $103.47 to buy all 3 VHS tapes of this before it ever aired on TV. Money well spent for a lifetime of epic memories

I feel generally sorry for kids who didn't get to see and feel it. DBZ wasn't just something you watched, it gave you goosebumps and memories that will last forever.

Falconer Productions created a soundtrack that surpassed the original japanese soundtrack and made it fit the show much better... MUSICAL GENIUS

I like this theme, the beginning gives you the attitude of triumph, it says to you "yeah, we're going to get this thing together then take this guy out". It is then followed by majestic music that says "behold the power of the spirit" (0:25). Next that triumphant atmosphere comes back even greater than before (1:39). Around 2:05 you feel the energy of all living things coming together. 2:50 all that energy and power is being absorbed into the hero, the savior. 3:00 more triumphant music. At 3:40, a feeling of doubt begins to linger. "Can we really do this?". 4:10 comes and screams out "Yes! The time has come! It's Over!". By the time 4:30 comes around, the great power and intensity is muted by the innocence and benevolence of the contributors as the foe slowly beings to fade away. At 5:20, the hero breathes deeply, exhausted from the sheer power so suddenly released. 5:45 Everyone can finally feel it, freedom, the battle is won.

2:03 is so majestic...I can listen to that part for hours.

This guy is musical genius, a true artist. Blessings and blessings to all kindred spirits/followers of DBZ

When the bass drops at 1:37 I just start bopping like crazy

Vegeta: "Aren't you the one that keeps saying how great of a warrior Kakarot is... If you have so much faith in him... Then wait and see what he will do" seconds later.... Goku: "I give up" Vegeta: "You... Coward"

I absolutely love this. Have fond memories of Goku getting his arse kicked and beat down by Freiza yet he always got back on his feet and smiled because he knew what was coming...... epic shit.

It took me YEARS to finally learn the name of this soundtrack. Whenever it plays you just knew the good guys were about to pull off something amazing!

I never grew up with this theme as a kid but this truly is something else. I have a lot of to catch up honestly

5:44 to 6:33 epic part it feels like heaven

The part @1:37 will always remind me of the scene where goku begins the spirit bomb on namek. Water starts to sprout out of the ground and frieza is not impressed.

I watched dbz for the first time with Japanese music and I must say I did highly rate it, I re watched it after several years with the Bruce faulconer music and I must say, the Japanese music doesn’t even come close to this masterpiece.

Faulconer's music is epic. This theme was perfect for the moment. It created a desperate tension, but also some lingering sense that there is a light forming at the end of the tunnel. Beautiful.

I'll always remember this.

This theme really made it feel like this was going to be the finale of the Goku vs. Freiza fight. And you know, it even would've been a completely satisfying conclusion if it had actually ended here. It made the survival of Freiza and what followed just that much more amazing as a kid.

2:10 Love when that part of the music comes on. Make me wanna throw a spirit bomb myself.

This is literally good enough to mediate to or just to simply gather your thoughts with. Just an incredible series of sounds. Easily a top 3 Faulconer song to me.

It sucks that Goku never got an official theme...but this should definitely be considered his theme by Original Funi fans

I used to get lost in the music watching DBZ on cheese TV. I recorded the week and watched it on weekends with out adds. I thought I would never hear it again in 98. Thanks Bruce Faulconer.🈸

I grew up with the original DBZ with un-cut scenes. The sad thing is I never watched the Frieza saga cus It never aired on Toonami and by the time I started watching, It was already the start of the cell saga. But I at least got to watch that and the Boo saga in all of their glory.

Faulconer and his team’s score just worked for DBZ at the time. Super has some really good tracks on the OST but they’ll never compare to this. Never.
