Once upon a time I wrote a book The Spirit of NLP. The “spirit” I described came from Bandler and was one of ferocious resolve, ferocious going-for-it, ferocious questioning, ferocious passion, and ... in a single word, being ferocious. That’s what the book is about, how as a master practitioner of NLP to get the spirit. A few weeks ago I was asked by someone who had just read the book for the first time, “Is there anything about The Spirit of NLP that you would change?” I wrote back immediately, “Yes! I definitely would. The ferocious idea from Richard Bandler was just too much and here’s why.”
Then I thought, “What is the spirit of Neuro-Semantics?” “How does it differ from the spirit of NLP?” The answer to that has now led to the next ISNS Wisdoms and will reveal the core values, attitude, and spirit of Neuro-Semantics. And it is this deep inner spirit that makes Neuro-Semantics and NLP actually work and work in an amazingly effective way. This is true for nearly everything. Often what stops a person from achieving his goals, being effective and productive, and thoroughly enjoying one’s life is that the person does not have the right spirit. As an athlete, you need the right spirit. As a leader, you need the right spirit. You need the right spirit as a parent, a lover, a teacher, a coach, etc. You could have everything else that you need to succeed, but if your attitude or your spirit is not the right spirit, then that becomes the critical issue.
