Fun fact, the reason why cuttlefish turned white when dehydrated is because when humanely putting out a squid they turn white. And Mr. Grizz said something about Cuttlefish’s brain. Which is where you strike to kill a squid to humanely kill it. So yes technically Captain cuttlefish died.

@@cloveruty fnaf by far. splatoon's is cohesive but was largely dripfed throughput all the years. there were no retcons, no alternate universes, no youtuber trying to make history out of nothing

Like how grizz is still alive and is he gonna come back? Or how tar tar could may possibly be alive since the statue did not exploded or anything but he was just defeated with no more damage. So many questions yet so many can be answered.

I've a funny story about the final battle: I never played Splatoon 2 but got the third game partially because of this channel, but in my first attempt at the final boss, I was surrounded by enemies and tried to save myself by using Splashdown, but one of the enemies killed me mid-jump. Not only did I die to a Splashdown Cancel in Splatoon 3, it also caused the end of the world.

I love that they learned from octo expansion. Like most people guessed the blender would be... a blender. So for this story mode they made it look so weird that it was hard to guess what the final 'thing' would be. I personally thought it would've been a helicopter of some sort.

I think the flooder buddy interaction is supposed to be a logical deduction cuz it like never teaches you. The only thing you have is buddy, therefor buddy is the solution. It’s just figuring out how buddy is the solution

@@raphaelunger3057 gonna be honest I didn't know that, even though i did that level. the dialogue is super easy to miss cuz half the time it's unimportant flavor text and I'm focusing on playing the game. imo tips like that should be more prominent especially when they are needed in the ending sequence

@@alexanderdahms4001 most definitely Former captain cuttlefish is an actual cuttlefish meaning his "swim form" would be entirely different then the squid sisters as they are inklings and not cuttlefishes but do still have relations with him cuz they are his grandchildren.

The sunken scrolls actually sort of explain how they ‘revived’ cuttlefish. I can’t remember exactly what it said, but one of the pages talks about mummification or revival of squids or something among those lines…

Actually it was more of a mistaken research thing, since the "mummy" squid they used as reference is clearly just a dried cuttlefish snack on a stick.

I skipped some levels in the way to the finale as well and I didn't know what to do about the flooders in that first part but instead of figuring it out, I just tanked with the broken armor on both flooders

As someone who loves games that give you a companion, I was enamored with little buddy and used them whenever I could. The finale being Hugefry was the absolute best way the whole thing could have ended.

i love the canon implication of agent 3.2 working salmon run shifts after the story mode. they know exactly what the golden eggs are for, and collect them for mr grizz anyway. guess the benefits are too good lol (yes i know it's implied lil judd took over grizzco, but agent 3.2 wouldn't know that)

I feel like it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to notice the new headset, plus there was already a Lil Judd themed pen holder on the table at Grizzco, and that one Sunken Scroll makes him a little suspicious in general. Maybe they keep working salmon run shifts just to try and keep tabs on him or something (even though it's still pretty questionable, lol.)

Literally had no clue how to escape the flooders either. I just did the lil trick I learned in Splat2 and cheesed the edge of the flooder so I could escape. Had no clue you could turn them off.

This final boss is hype as heck. We got hugefry fighting a friggin bear all while we pilot DJ octavio’s mech, squid sisters and deep cut backing us up. And this version of Calamari Inkantation made me shed a tear. It feels like the grand finale and I’m left wondering where could Splatoon go when it comes to story

My two cents: Maybe we have to fight basically Inkling KKK next story mode or in S3 DLC. Because the Inklings have to know about their eight-limbed buddies sooner or later.

The whole final sequence was great. That one jump troubled me more than it did you, but I picked up on the proper usage of Octavio's ink vac (aka, only using it when near the proper fuzzball) faster and didn't run out of time. Also, Smallfry truly is the best hero and the hero of this story. Hopefully you end doing the postgame and the other stages you didn't do so I can see just how much better you are at it than I am (because postgame is hard. very hard).

I absolutely love how they structured the campaign. They made it actually feel rewarding to find all of the secrets and complete all the levels instead of making it a feel like a chore

I also didnt know that smallfry could stop flooders despite the fact that I played literally every level I could before the final boss. Also the entire single player was genuinally amazing, I feel like if it wasnt for the fact that its splatoon, itd probably be its own full priced game.

I finally just processed the finale. You fight Mr. Grizz on a rocket in SPACE and then your tiny consumer of worlds becomes a KAIJU and Mr. Grizz becomes a KAIJU and they have a KAIJU BATTLE IN SPACE WHILE YOU FLY A UFO

Splatoon difficulty: 1: difficulty? Everyone can do it! 2: a couple of notable stages here and there but nothing to write home about. More grindy if anything else. Octo Expanssion: Oh god. Life and existance is pain. To live is to continue suffering. Pearl! Marina! Get me out of here! Please! 3: Just right. Doing the difficult stages actually make me feel like I am learning something and I feel like a better player after finishing them.

Splatoon 3 is not confirmed to be the last game, all that was said was the end of a saga. The saga meaning inkling vs octoling saga has ended and we will probably be against the mammals since they 100% did not finish the story yet. It might end in a future dlc, but I highly doubt nintendo would end one of their biggest money makers

i dont feel like enough people mention how terrifying the fail cutscene is. its extremely ominous, even moreso then octo expansions. highly recommenced beating every level with each weapon, it took me a little under 12 hours!

10:14 imagine being a dude who was conscious in a cryo pot for 12 000 years only to come back on the same planet and see marine life evolved. And your whole world destroyed only to be left alone. This part really hit deep for me. Kinda felt for mr Grizz afterall he just wanted to have everything be back to normal. He wasn't like tar tar cuz tar tar literally was there for the entire time and just despited the evolution of squids and octos and said they were underdeveloped creatures. But mr grizz was different because he had a trauma going back to the same earth. Maybe we could have actually "saved" Mr grizz, because at the end he realized that the earth did indeed change. If only they show him some love at the end maybe the guy would have learned his lesson.

okay, I DID know you could stop the Flooders with Smallfry because of one earlier stage, but I still got stuck on the second one with the ink roller somehow and just ended up damage boosting through like that too. Still not sure what I was doing wrong there, but I got through it, lol. Watching this reminded me how much fun I've had with story mode, though!!! I can go back and replay levels with other weapons and I still have to get through After Alterna, but I honestly already wish there was more actual story to play through. Maybe I'll even go dig Splatoon 2 back up just for that.

the Flooders are nothing as you can walk through them and cross fine as they cant turn and reaggro fast enough to be an actual threat. so using Smallfry is not needed at all for them.

I was hoping Mr Grizz would be a photorealistic bear. Like, in spongebob where theres just straight up a photograph of a grizzly bear. But this is almost as good.

I'm kinda curious if kraken would be a possibility in splatoon 3, granted much like Inkstrike it would need tweaking from it's s1 counterpart

Yeah, the flooder/buddy interaction is not even directly explained. Flooders are rare even in the levels themselves, and there is maybe one instance where it helps but is not required prior to that point. Instead, the game gets away with it because all you have access to is buddy, so buddy is the solution. it is just a matter of how. Distracting the flooder doesnt get you past it, the flooder will splat buddy if it can reach him, so all that leaves is letting buddy attack the flooder. Why does it stop the shower? unexplained, it just does. "Embrace it and stop asking questions!"
