Some off the hinted 'off key' notes that're played on purpose gives the feeling of a supposed to be happy place replaced with the feeling of betrayal and or the failure of doing something; but attempting to carry on like it never happened. Osts like these that add feeling to the scene are gold (even if it's two goofy goober goobers that're hungover on ice cream).
Nice analysis there, Ash. Just wonderin', have ya heard any game musics that have sets of instruments representing the heroes and the enemy? The only one I can think of is Battling Skunkape from Sam and Max: The Devil's Playhouse. Where Sam and Max are represented by brass and string instruments associated with jazz while Skunckape is represented by futuristic sounds, since he comes from outer space.
+PurpleWind64 Sadly there's none that really comes into mind... All I know is taking 7 years in band made me realize parts besides the melody that give the setting a ton of mood. Glad to know im not the only one who hears the
The "off key" notes are being played because the Goofy Goober is supposed to be a bar and Spongebob was being portrayed as drunk on this level lol. This is what it would sound like for a drunk man to play piano.
As a kid, I would sit down in my basement on rainy or freezing days (I lived in Canada, there was a lot of frost) turn on the game just to listen to this music, and draw pictures/ comics of Goofy Goober with wasted Spongebob and Patrick, though I didn't realize they were drunk at the time lol.
going back to older spongebob episodes, theirs so many dirty jokes it's not even funny.like how sponge+starfish=clam,or how spongebob, patrick and mr.krabs went on a panty raid.
Ever heard the term "Drunk on Milk"? Well to avoid trouble of characters getting hangovers from beer, they replace it with kid friendly stuff. Ice cream from this series is one of them.
Wait you are everywhere, didn't think to find you in a music from this game lol I'm also surprised that many people know this game! Never know that he got a huge success 😅
Playing on console: "It's like walking on ice cream!" Playing on emulator: "I T ' S L I K E W A L K I N G O N I C E C R E A M" *echoes through the halls of Hell*
I love how this tune gets progressively more sinister. It starts off as a friendly melody you might hear at a children's parlour but the more you hear; the more disturbed it becomes. It adds so much atmosphere to the best level of the game.
I love songs that do this! For anyone else who wants to hear more with that semi off feeling I reccomend the musuem from boneworks and grass lands 1 from that one kirby nes game
N-*Burp*-Now this one goes out to my two best friends in the whole world! Patrick, and this big peanut guy! It's a little ditty we like to call.... *WAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!*
2004: Games that I got on the PS2. - This game - Sonic Heroes - Need For Speed: Underground 2 - Burnout 3: Takedown - GTA: San Andreas - The Incredibles Video Games Timeless classic, I missed my 5 y.o me.
The nostalgia hit me like a truck. I could never beat this game, but this level particularly gave me a weird feeling? Like it was cute but also really sad to me as a child lol
This music was the funniest thing I’ve ever heard in my life as a kid. Especially the "choo-choo" noise and the robotic "ribbit ribbit" during the banjo part got me on my butt in tears. Whenever I got hurt in-game and the enemies started laughing, it also got me laughing cause of how stupid they sound and look. In short: This level was so damn funny as hell to me and it still gets me cackling.
Spongebob!!!! What's up Patrick? You have got to try this new dodge bru...broom game. Duck! Where? *WHACK* Ooh! Ah! Woah! The nostalgia bomb has indeed been dropped.
This song is etched into my psyche, the off piano keys made me uncomfortable as a kid, and it's equally effective now hearing it well over a decade later.
I recently replayed this game to beat it 100% for the first time in my life and it's hilarious in hindsight how all the enemies in this level are just the Goofy Goober staff trying to throw your drunk ass out
I remember playing this! This was my favorite level because it was like a candy land, where I would try to smash a certain pile of crates to make a little fort and hide inside, I remember this game so well...
I remember playing this (on the PlayStation 2) years ago, too! Too bad I was never able to complete the game... By the way, I like your profile picture.
I hope they remaster this game someday like they did in Battle of the bikini bottom. I bet they will call it SpongeBob SquarePants the movie game rehydrated
Foggers and Slammers are introduced in this level, along with Spawners. Foggers will exhale bad breath at you, damaging you if you enter it. Slammers will run towards you and slam their weapon down, damaging you and knocking you back quite a distance if they land their mark. Slammers can take two hits. Spawners do exactly what you'd think, spawn enemies. The types they spawn depends on the level. When hit, they explode, damaging you if you're too close, so move away after hitting it, or take it out with a ranged attack.
That's what I was trying to look for. Everyone's talking about how SpongeBob and Patrick got drunk on Ice Cream. Both the SpongeBob movie and Truth Or Square Wii game is nostalgia
@@elfwizard9969 You also get Goober Tokens from a shared dream in Goober Land. Clearly Mindy has psychic powers and just gives you a token when you do something cool.
