Thanks for not taking Kamp Koral into account, because it means that alot of really beautiful moments have to be taken out. Such as Spongebob meeting Sandy in adulthood and making friends over their mutual love for Karate. The amount of sheer detail and care you put into getting Spongey's timeline correct is fantastic. I’ve always seen SpongeBob‘s age as irrelevant since regardless of how old or young he is he’s always a bit of a kid at heart. However it is fun to see different theories on how old he is.

This was great. I literally grew up on this show.(show literally came out the year I was born) I’ve stopped watching it now because it wasn’t the classic type of humor it started with. However, watching you go back and break down SpongeBobs life was truly nostalgic. I didn’t even know a few of these things happened like the odd world, or them bringing doodle bob and bubble buddy back. Can’t wait to see you do others.

I fell in love with SpongeBob SquarePants because of that one episode when they went to deliver that pizza. They have been walking for miles when all of a sudden SpongeBob in the voice of an old southern preacher. Started singing Krusty Krabbb Krabbb. I'm an atheist but I guess they would say he got the Holy Ghost in him.
I have to admit, I was a little worried when you first mentioned Kamp Koral and it seemed like you were gonna just continue from there, but I think many of us breathed a collective sigh of relief when you said you don't consider it canon to the original. Good on you, Lydia, because then you'd have to be talking about TWO different timelines: one where SpongeBob and Sandy met as adults and the other where they met at camp. EDIT: And now I'm worried again since you seem to be taking The Patrick Star Show into account. My personal theory is that the Patrick Star Show is literally just a show in the SpongeBob universe. My evidence for this is the fact that Patrick's parents in the main show are MUCH different than in TPSS, which would suggest them being actors. Same goes with Squidina; she's an actress playing the part of an adopted sister to Patrick's self-played character. It's all just a show, literally, and therefore non-canon to the series. EDIT: And now you acknowledged that TPSS may not be canon, so again good on you! I think you did the best you possibly could with this twisted timeline.
Thanks for doing this one! I was in the 4th grade when the show first came out, so it was a huge part of my childhood. I love how Stephen Hillenburg put so many nods to actual marine biology and real life events within the show. Sponges can live for hundreds of years, so he might just age really REALLY slowly. Hillenburg was a marine biologist before starting his animation career, so I wouldn't be surprised if he put it in the show.
14:25 it's been confirmed many years ago that the spongebob movie(2004)was Chronologically the end of the series,so it's after the show's timeline,the original creator even said this,it's not a theory
Hi, the shows creator never publicly claimed this was the official finale, and this rumour was further denied by the shows producer Vincent Waller. So this is just a theory.
@@LydiaLovesTimelines Further proven with Mindy appearance, the trench that lead to Shell City and that Shell City is now some sort of Hollywood for fish in the show. Also, according to him, that amount of manager award was just an exaggeration, so maybe it takes place less than 31 years.
@@LydiaLovesTimelines its not a theory at all,It's Set Chronologically after the Show,The Krusty Krab 2 is no where to be seen in the actual TV show,Neptune in the movie is Older than he appears in the show,Plankton in the show always fails to get the formula and he finally succeeded in the movie.
There IS one minor thing you missed- in “the Chaperone” Spongebob mentions how he couldn’t find a date to his own Junior prom- and instead went with Patrick and his mom- but it was never shown- one of the few mentions of his school-life

18:02 I just love it how you covered this very episode, since I would be quivering in my socks should I try to explain this episode’s plot myself, since you mentioned it was one of the darkest, and most depressing episodes in cartoon history. The fact that you mentioned that it might be a possible series finale episode made scream like Bart Simpson in my mind. (I’m thinking of the one from TOH 2, BTW.)
I thing that we can close out the Patrick star show too because Patricks parents and grandfather look completely diffrent in than in the normal show and Spongebob and Sandy also apperntly already know each other in this show
SpongeBob is just one of those shows I can't look at as having a timeline that makes sense as even within the show there's several contradictions and changes to the character's personalities that it's impossible to piece together a timeline considering it's meant to be episodic compared to something like The Last Airbender that is very much based on following a story.
I've always had the theory in my head that the SpongeBob movie takes place in 2031, seeing as at that point SpongeBob had supposedly been working there for 31 years.

12:34 in this episode (between the middle and third quarter) Spongebob and Patrick are realizing that Sandy is serious about leaving Bikini Bottom and crying about her heading to Houston. In Germany the joke is that Spongebob’s saying to Patrick that Sandy‘s gonna leave Bikini Bottom for Houston Texas. Patrick repeats him but says "Husten Texas" which is translated to "coughing/to cough Texas". The joke has no big meaning but me and my friends knew that there is a big city in Texas called Houston more than we knew other cities of the US like NYC or LA. XD We didn’t even know that Texas is part of the USA. xDDD The only thing we knew was that there is a country/land called Texas and in this land is a big city called Houston/Husten

My theory is sponge bob is 35 years old. because in sleepy time he was born in July 14 1986. as of today he would be 35 years old and if the movie takes place in the future by adding the 374 consecutive employee of the month awards which adds up to 31 years and he’s 12 years old in the episode help wanted when he join the krusty krab as a fried cook, then in total in the sponge bob movie he would be 43 years old. And if alex bale’s television theory is true and the film is just a film with scuba divers he would be 18 in the movie just like how dave lee said that he’s in the late teens to the early 20’s and just like mr krabs said he’s just a kid Edit: as of today SpongeBob is now 36 years old

I’m gonna try to make how SpongeBob meets Sandy at kamp koral. SpongeBob meets Sandy at camp and become friends and after camp, SpongeBob forgets about Sandy and later in life, SpongeBob meets Sandy while Sandy was fight that clam. I tried to make it logical and make sense.
