A direct metro connection between the arena and the train station would prevent a lot of traffic. Maybe next time.

Nice work with the tramline, finally someone who does something with public transit that makes it useful. I see too many people (and in this series as well) treat public transit as "something to make it look good", whilst public transit needs to be functional. So, big thanks for that :D

Better to use offices around noisy areas, they nicely separate noise from commercial from residential (they won't complain).

Regarding the noise - there are reasons why stadiums are often built in current or former industrial areas... part of it's that land there is cheap, but a big part of it is also that there are no residential neighbours to complain about noise and traffic. Anecdotally, the largest stadium in my city *is* in a residential area... and has been for more than a century, which has caused a fair amount of fuss and drama over the years as those working-class neighbourhoods have gentrified

Think about that the water pipes do not run under the canal but actually under the bridge base. Pipes, cables, etc.. all run under the spanning structure over gaps.

I don't think pedestrians can cross tram tracks unless there's an intersection (vanilla) or a crossing node (node controller). They definitely can't cross roads without an intersection or a crossing node.

You could also fill in the parking lots with grass instead, and add trees, so it isn't a concrete field

I stayed in a tall hotel in Arizona. There was lots of noise on the ground and I could hear it way too well up in my room.

In terms of track standards, speed, and how tightly it can turn it is distinct.

There are different kind of trams some are closer to train than others. That line looks pretty close to train. It has mostly segregated tracks from road system and curves are smoother than they need to be for a tram.

"Tram" usually refers to a vehicle that runs on rails on the roads, so it's kind of a hybrid approach. At one end of the spectrum, they're more like buses on rails, just one step removed from the trolley-buses also present in the game. At the other end, you've basically got light-rail systems that have more in common with metro... big multi-carriage vehicles which may even have separate lines for part of their routes.

Off Topic, but which roads do you use as a default, or choose new each city?

Depends on the setting. “Big urban” roads for US cities. Vanilla+ anywhere else

@@YUMBL Ok Thanks, I have tried most road networks on Steam and they all have positives, and seem to be getting more advanced, yet I find each also is "missing" something I would like in its responsiveness. Also do you ever imagining yourself doing some work with rail intersections? I do realize a lot of rail design is based on Move It manipulation of tracks. The flow of trains though is my biggest bugaboo, and turn out ugly. I do double up station tracks at edge and connect 1ways to them but designing city network is difficult.
