Hey guys, thanks for watching. At the end of the video I say to click the screen to watch the Original Trilogy version of this, but I made this back in 2014 when annotations were a thing. If you'd like to watch it, head here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TLyNMSkTiGg.html
"Jar Jar Binks... will be killed." words cannot describe how hard I laughed! All i'm gonna say is that i had to pause the video to stop myself laughing!!
dave19941000 I never said that you didn't see any flaws with the original, just that being a fan of the originals doesn't make you a nerd, enjoying the Star Wars universe as a whole (EU, Films, Books) makes you a nerd. Being a fan of the originals and only the originals either makes you a hipster or an 80's kid that does nothing but bitch about the current age of entertainment. They are good, but you never explained what prevents them from being good, then again, I doubt you can think for yourself.
dave19941000 Why the fuck can't Star Wars fans just like both? I do. (And I prefer the live action transformers to the original cartoon, which is kinda boring to me. That said, I still prefer Armada). Now, granted, I am 24 so I was at that crux where I watched the original all the time on recorded VHS, and was really excited when the prequels came out, and wasn't disappointed. But seriously, pull off the nostalgia glasses and just see the movie for what it is. Escape from fucking reality.
Hey guys; big thanks to all of you who helped the previous mash get so big! Many of you were saying you wanted to see the same video done with the prequels and since I already had the project files on standby; I figured, why don't I just do it? Anyway, hope you enjoy :)
Very very good editing. You made a trio of relatively bad movies..look disturbingly good. Someone should give JJ a call, you should be the trailer producer for the next 3 eps.
"insert confession bear here": I really, really like Episode 2 and 3, as much as I adore the classic trilogy. Seeing Master Yoda wield a light saber completed my life. Don´t kill me.
This was actually even better than the other one! xD Although I enjoy the originals more, I still like all the Star Wars movies and excluding Jar Jar, this mash up highlights a lot of the good things about the prequels. Mainly Ewan McGregor
Yes! Thank you! Ewan McGregor is one of the main reason the prequels are watch-able. Also Liam Neeson's presence in the Phantom Menace helps that movie a ton too, too bad they killed them off, although I doubt he would have sign on for episode II and III
nightsurgeon23 I think the main problem with the prequels wasn't the actors as people tend to say (Hayden Christensen), but the script and story. The story was good but had poor execution. Christensen isn't a bad actor, he just had really bad lines and direction from Lucas. Same for Natalie Portman and Samuel L Jackson. Christopher Lee I thought was a really good villain when he was on screen and like you said Ewan McGregor is now the only Obi-Wan I see (I thought he was more memorable than Alec Guiness). Also Palpatine is probably the best part of the whole trilogy. His motives and ways of getting what he wants are really well done and is probably one of my favorite villains ever. Although the prequels had many flaws, I think people tend to forget that there was some good in them (kinda like Darth Vader) xD.
Albert Johfur Although they have flaws, I can understand where Hamill is coming from. I grew up with both trilogies and will always have a special place in my heart for the prequels as well as the originals. I think people who hate the prequels are just blind by wearing nostalgia goggles. Its not just prequel haters though. Many people love certain movies and games and hate newer ones due to nostalgia. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but there is a point where people need to stop being so critical. For example, I don't hate Jar Jar. I don''t like him but I don't hate him and don't feel like he ruined a franchise like everyone thinks. :)
I agree with this general sentiments. I prefer the Original Trilogy but the Prequels are by no means as bad as the majority makes them out to be. Whenever people talk about the CGI, they fail to realize that a LOT of the scenes used actual puppets, alien masks, and miniature sets for shots of Naboo and the like. Heck, the entire Geonosis Arena AND the barren area outside were both miniature shots with the droids and clones inserted using CGI. Furthermore, the CGI is fine. I never got why it's soooo frowned upon. I mean, I'm pretty sure if Lucas was told during Return of the Jedi, "you could use CGI to create thousands of stormtroopers and show whole trees being toppled over and burning OR you could hire maybe a hundred people to dress as stormtroopers and have it seem odd that the empire is beaten by rocks" -- he would've gone for the thing that let him do more. Heck, even in Episode 3, when he finally got to sort of redo the Endor battle using wookiees like he originally intended, he still hired a bunch of people to be wookiees. Next up... the acting. People seem to forget the originals were not oscar-worthy performances by any stretch. People who make fun of how whiny Anakin is forget about "but I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converterrrrs..." Furthermore, while Anakin and Padme did not have the type of chemistry that the original cast of Han, Leia, Luke, Chewie, etc. had, it wasn't the absolute worst thing ever. Especially since you have Qui-Gon Jinn who is a BRILLIANT character, Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan who is fantastic in the role and one of the best aspects of the entire saga IMO -- you can really see the progression from hotheaded young Obi-Wan to resentful and harsh Master Kenobi to brotherly bond and friend to Anakin to Old Ben. People who get upset over how "political" the film is. Getting bored with all the political stuff in it. But those people clearly do not understand 1. How stories work and 2. That the Original Trilogy is very much the Nazi Empire. Lucas straight up called the soldiers STORMTROOPERS even. The Emperor is Hitler. How did Hitler gain control? Through diplomacy. If anyone thought the Prequels wouldn't focus on Palpatine's rise and eventual takeover -- they were sadly delusional. If they believed it'd happen another way... they need look no further than the Originals to see that it would most likely parallel Hitler's rise as well. Further... if you look at the entire saga, 1 through 6... the originals are more exciting because there is no political stuff (although ANH specifically mentions senators and stuff even) while the prequels do -- it begins slow with all of that and then the Originals are the climax of the saga essentially. As for Jar Jar... yeah, he's dumb and sucks. Some of his antics can be excused (mainly the one where he swings the weapon but it wraps around him considering that was in ROTJ with the ewoks) but for the most part. Just an annoying and needless addition. But TO BE FAIR -- Lucas did tone down Jar Jar in Episode 2 and barely even featured him and then Jar Jar was virtually absent in 3. And on and on: the EXCELLENT lightsaber duels (though I dislike Yoda ever using a lightsaber, it always seemed like he would never use one -- in a way that Obi-Wan finds blasters as uncivilized, I figured Yoda thought the same about lightsabers and would instead rely solely on the Force), the Clone Trooper design (as well as the design of other things like spaceships) transitioning into what we know from the Originals. Clones going from Mandalorian-influenced armor and slowly evolving into the Stormtrooper aesthetic. It's neat.
This is the most awesome thing I have ever seen on RU-vid. Can't stop rewatching! I love this video. Unusual suspect you are a genius! I absolutely love the prequels and this video is just so awesome! I loved the the original Star Wars Guardians video too. Both are great, they make Star Wars look better than they are, how is that even possible?! Star Wars is already amazing and these trailers make it look even better. So cool, loved seeing Hayden in the beginning. Love him! Anyway fantastic video.
***** Wow you're list is almost just like mine only difference I would switch Empire Strikes Backs and Attack Of Clones. Witch of course that's just my list.
it's been years i see fan stuff about star wars... the two trailers you've done are the best thing i've seen so far... It was funny, nicely done, with respect and even make the prequel almost watchable... Thank you for those 2.52 min of happiness. (sorry for my english, french guy inside.)
Beautiful job. This can take even the cheesiest parts of the Prequels and make something fun, and entertaining out of it. But it definitely showed most of the fun elements of the Prequels, such as the action, and the worlds, and editing is amazing as always. Love these.
@@Travisej2 Jar Jar doesn’t annoy me in the slightest. Never has. But even if he did? Jar Jar is goofy. He’s clumsy. He’s not altogether bright. He breaks damn near everything he touches. To people within the setting, he’s a nuisance. But when his nation sent out the call to his arms, when his people faced annihilation, that goofy, loppy eared bastard picked up a gun and FOUGHT. He didn’t cower in the rear. He got his ass on the front and did his DUTY. An innocent, like Anakin, who should be nowhere near a battle, but he risked his life anyway because his people needed him. That makes him a hero. That’s why I love Jar Jar.
You took the best parts of the prequels, made Jar Jar funny in this with the way his dialogue was timed, this is your best mash up. Btw, I think I saw something about an Amazing Spider-Man Review, when can we expect it.
Bwaaaaahahahahahahaha lol 😂 OMG I can't stop laughing . This was a SUPER GREAT TRAILER ! EXCELLENT ! WELL MADE !! AND HELLA FUNNY 😂 . great job and keep up the good work . (The emperor getting tossed and watto laughing had me laughing nonstop) 😅👍
Excellent work. I'd still like to see a prequels trailer in the style of Batman Begins, though. 1. Both have Liam Neeson. 2. Both play up the destiny and origin of a dark, iconic figure. 3. Both involve said iconic figure screaming the lead female's name. 4. Both involve said lead female speaking in disillusioned disappointment towards the iconic figure... The list goes on.
1:55 . Remember watching this scene with your parents and your dad thinking that somethins's wrong with the stereo boxes? That's actually a good memorie from a 2000's kid.
CJ Ferrer Honestly, that fight was very well made and built up. Those people who call it shit are usually the hipsters who call everything in the prequel trilogy shit
Do I know why this was on my recommended? No Have I watched anything related to Star Wars in the past few months? No. Did I thoroughly enjoy this? Yes.
When you make a series of shitty movies look entertaining with a Trailer, you know you've got what it takes to be a real Hollywood Trailer Maker. Disney should hire you except then you wouldn't be able to make more reviews for us for free. Anyways I f-ing loved this mashup, and loved how you used that one blooper of Liam fumbling with the lightsaber. xD Ah I remember when getting to the outtakes on the special edition DVDs was complicated. They didn't have a simple "Outtakes/Bloopers" option.
i literally lmao at the "Me sa back!" "Nooooo!" also thumbs up to "Jar Jar Binks will die" and then you show the captain shooting lol. these are so good.
Valley Forge I was going to say the same thing. I would love to see a trailer for all Trek films in this style. By that I mean, individual. Though, you could do Khan-Voyage Home like a trilogy with one trailer
No, they're not. They offered more practical effects (miniatures, models, sets, etc.) in each movie than the entire original trilogy could provide. There's also CG, of course, but nowhere near as much as your average big budget movie offers today.
ThatCrazyJiveTurkey Really? How can you tell? boards.theforce.net/threads/practical-effects-in-the-prequels-sets-pictures-models-etc.50017310/ If any of you are more than mere trolls, read that. All of that. These are the facts: More practical effects than the original trilogy and also revolutionary use of CG.
Agahnim Veneficus The depth and texture of the background look very fake and obviously computer generated. Your link did showcase some beautiful set pieces I'll admit. If only they weren't surrounded with inferior CGI (by todays standards of course).
Jar jar was very annoying, but could tolerate Phantom, with like the Pod race & Darth maul. What I think ruined Prequel enjoyment was ,Hayden's portrayal/ betrayal of our Anakin into Darth Vader like in Clones & Revenge.
