Here we have the Starry Campion! It is a native perennial wildflower often seen in woodlands during the summer. It is tolerant of sandy/dry soil. Therefore, there are roots deep enough to provide sustenance. It falls under the genus of Silene, which implies that it also shares a relation with the Royal Catchfly. What both plants have in common is that they have resin-like stems that can trap insects that may consume on it.
