Hi Sydney, my husband was a contractor and plumber, now retired but says to start with a plastic putty knife to try to get the caulking off the marble first before using any metal as to not scratch the marble. Hope it does the trick 😊
Autumn and blue. Even more difficult for us looking through a computer screen. I just think the blue picks out the blue flowers beautifully. Whatever you decide will be perfect!
I am going back and forth with my choices. What about putting the wallpaper and paint swatches next to the floor and laying the brass fixture by it to see what looks best?
Agree with your choice of the Autumn paper. I like either the green or teal. Save the deep plum for another place in your home. Your bathroom will be stunning. I love bold powder rooms, it’s one place where you can really have strong patterns and color.
I like your choice of autumn , too. For the paint, I would place the faucet next to the paint samples to also help with the decision of The color you like best.
I think anemone is the best match for the undertones. But if you only paper the top you can change that bottom color easy anytime. I’ve done that and then match the rug to that color. It can change the whole look of the room. The beauty of wallpaper. Nice choice! 🥰🥰
I was delighted to hear you're leaning toward the "autumn", as that was my favorite ("spring" is pretty too, just something so rich in the autumn choice) ! I love the way you use color, and yet it's never 'too much' or chaotic. Thanks for taking us along. 🙌🏼
Well Sydney, you have to look at the different time of day for sure. I painted up 10 colors for my home in blocks. And I looked at them for a week. Day, night, cloudy days, sunny days morning and night. This was about 7 years ago. Hands down I picked the best one by doing that. I have those small sample paint jars. Those bigger paper paint blocks weren't available. Take your time. You will study out your favorite and ask for Tommy's opinion too. I know what ever you do it will be fabulous 😊
The dark plum is too severe. It would compete with the wallpaper. I think the blue paint allows both the paint and the paper to showcase their prettiness.
Place the wallpaper on the marble floor with the paint samples on each side. That way you can see all four colours next to the wallpaper at once, plus paint samples against marble. This will help hone your choice. Plus the paint needs to tone well with the marble. I wouldn’t go gloss on ceiling as you will get annoying light shadows. Julie, Worcestershire UK.
I love the wallpaper that you chose. I admire your taste in using colors and bold prints. I like the blue and light lavender the best but I do also like the green and purple. Beautiful colors.
Sydney, I love the autumn wallpaper and all the colors look stunning; but the purple and hydrangea speak to me. It will look beautiful whichever you choose. It's all part of the fun of decorating!
I also agree the autumn paper is best choice. I really like the blue - I think it will pop. The hydrangea looks like a perfect match, but I think it may be too subdued. Use the purple elsewhere. It's a lovely colour. I'm never really been a green wall person, so I have a bit of bias on that colour. I would like to see each paint swatch next to your Indian print as well, seeing as though it is in such close proximity. The brass is going to be stunning against whichever colour you choose. ❤
Sydney check out ornate drapery tie backs to use for towel hook. I had brass leaf motif but I'm sure there are some swans, etc If you are replacing the towel rings. Love the story from former owner. Oh my cobalt blue would have been amazing. Love hydrangea color. Place samples near the brass faucet. See how that looks. Good video. Thanks Sydney. .
Great plans. Just something to consider - since the faucet is such a great feature, it might need a little more space. While the mirror is nice - you might find it competes visually and physically with the faucet. If you find that - could keep the moulding/trim (go straight across) and just wall mount a cool mirror. Anyway - whatever you do will be great.
Yea great idea. That mirror seems odd & taking up space as well. That faucet is amazing & doesn't need anything blocking it from shining. Thanks for posting Sydney and bringing us along. Love the autumn wallpaper❤
Definitely Autumn like you said it blends with everything else you have going on . Spruce or blue for the paint like the hydrangea but not quite bold enough for the paper. It’s gonna look great you have great taste. This is fun.
I love the dark teal/blue. I looks very rich with the paper...and the brass. I am shocked though. I really loved the lavender, but it looks sick with the Fall. It would be perfect with the Spring. Very pretty choices!
It will be a jewel box! ✨I think the hydrangeas ( lighter purple) makes the wallpaper stand out more. The others seem to overpower the paper ( on camera). Did you try holding the samples beside the native print paper in the bar room?
You’re right - the lighting makes these samples look so different than the pic you had posted in ‘Community’ earlier! I totally agree with the Autumn flower print - and it’s hard to tell from the lighting whether the blue or green shades go better with the wallpaper choice - but in this video, the blue tone seemed to look quite a bit better! Maybe try laying the samples out in a different room with brighter lighting to look at for a while - might help with making your final choice! Can’t wait to see how it all comes together!
My vote is the hydrangea but in a scrubbable mate finish, the high gloss will show all imperfections. The hydrangea will look beautiful with the wall faucet, they are both muted and soft looking, as is the floor. The other colors are beautiful but hydrangea will tie the room together.
Just a suggestion…..use the green on the walls and trim in a semi-gloss paint and the purple on the ceiling in a gloss. The green will complement the blue in the marble floor. The brass will pull the gold out of the wallpaper. I would change the window and use a pull up off white linen shade for privacy….no need for a window treatment. Use off white linens to soften the busy florals. Soft light bulbs in the fixtures.
Totally agree with the wall paper choice and from what it looks like via the phone I love either the blue or the green. I'd love to see that deep purple or burgundy in different light. You have great style!! You are inspiring me!! Love it 😂
Love your wallpaper choice! Whatever you decide, I’m confident that it will be beautiful and dramatic. I could imagine the anemone on the trim, hydrangea paint and the blue in accessories…hand towels! Or, paint the trim blue with the anemone accents?!? I can’t wait to see what you envision! ❤
I would go for contrast to the native american paper and paint combo, and choose what will make the brass fixtures pop. I think one of the teal/ green would be best. Good luck!
I love all of the color selections ant the overall design you are looking to achieve. My thought is the hydrangea on the bathroom woodwork in a high gloss and the anemone in the hall between the entry and the powder room. You could also do the blue in the hallway. I think I remember the entryway paper having blue in it also. Love your ideas and can't wait to see the finished room.
I have to say I like the teal and the blue, but you definitely need to look throughout the day with the lighting. It will be great no matter what you decide! I’ve been trying to decide on what to do in my powder room off of my kitchen for at least a year! 😂😂😂😂
