Unfortunately brew has taken a back seat for me on live servers so don't think I could do an update justice, but would definitely recommend checking out content from Equinox (account name might be "equinoxmonk"), he keeps a written guide updated for brew and also puts out tons of video content!
After feeling miserable the entire Dragonflight expansion about being a Brewmaster main, watching this video makes me so happy! Keep up the good work, dude
I've always liked brewmaster, I'm just hoping they're a bit more meta for m+ lol hated the vDH meta, and for raid brewmaster looks fun! I hope they're tank dmg is good
@@haorob Blood DK has been absolutely cranking ST, then for AoE it's pretty close I think between Blood and Brew, so overall DK is the winner but I think it's kind of clear they are slightly overtuned in the damage department atm so I would not be surprised to see them brought back a bit before launch.
The other potential issue with Shado Pan on brew is your main spender (Keg Smash) is ranged while the Flurry Strikes....aren't. If you end a pack at 360 energy spent and go to the next pack and pull it with Keg Smash you are going to get literally 0 value out your big pay off. The same can also happen if you are simply kiting like during Throngar or whatever his name is in Grim Batol.
That's a great point as well and something I didn't even consider! Having it empower something like Tiger Palm instead of instantly casting would actually fix this issue as well.
@Tactyks it makes more sense to be RSK if it had to empower an ability. Tiger Palm isn't a great choice due to Press the Advantage existing which removes that button from your bars.
Definitely a little sad, but the replacement seems very good at beefing brew up in harder content which was very needed, so I think I'm okay with the trade.
My problem with button bloat was not the 2 minute cooldown or the 30 second cooldown, it's having Tiger Palm and Spinning Crane Kick filling the same spot in the rotation, just for single target and aoe respectively. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the changes, but it looks as though even with Master of Harmony you'll occasionally need to press SCK, and PTA just feels much worse than WOO, especially with RJW being worse than Special Delivery.
The issue I have is Brew has so many filler abilities that don't "do anything". TP and RSK are just damage abilities with very little synergy with the spec. I know it would "homogonize" the specs, but I really feel like BRM should also get the 1-2-3 synergy between TP/BK/RSK the other specs have to at least make the buttons feel better. BK is the only one that feels good to press and that's because of Blackout Combo which is almost a capstone talent.
Tbh this feels like a guy who played brew for a month and thinks he's a main on the matter. Tiger palm and spinning crane do damage if you talent into them. Most often you do take those damaging talents and each turn into very high in overall % for AOE or ST. Rising sun kick is a fine ability nothing else to be said about it
@@GUkraine not true. In overall damage it can be top 3 easily with the right talents. Season 1 brewmaster of DF sck in m+ was either 2nd or top damage adding on top of it charred passions if you took that and many did. It sounds like you didn't play brew well or not as high level as you make yourself seem
So... im in a "the great push" tournament in the first week of the season, that some German guilds organized. I figured that brew is looking to be good as the tanking spot, but thats not my question! I wanted to ask if the 10% DR is worth dropping the 2nd celestial or not, as the damage output is not thaaaat relevant comparing to... well, surviving some big hard hitting bursts from enemies. I tested a little in the beta but cant really find the Hero talent that is currently leading to a more tankier style, instead of crazy dps... What's your oppinion on that?
I do think Shadopan is a bit tankier than Master of Harmony, the question I guess is if it that is worth the tradeoff of significantly lower damage. Its not like there arent any defensive gains of Master of Harmony, and if you're able to survive content your output will be significantly better, so for the way I play the game that means I'll play Master of Harmony 100% of the time, but I can understand if you're worried about survivability and want to play Shadopan for the extra boost.
I think the idea for tiger palm proccing flurry strikes is good, they could do it like san'lyn DK and just make the 400 energy proc change tiger palm into the flurry strikes spell instead. Good video too, have enjoyed all your break downs so far!
Yeah, don't get me wrong the Keg Smash damage is juicy, but outside of that and the 10% DR (which are both entirely passive) the tree doesn't really do anything which feels kind of bad.
@@Tactyks Given that the other hero tree can have you doing 25% more damage whenever you need it (including KS) while having another bubble and better purifies...... hard to care about random proc flurry strikes.
It's definitely a lot of damage on BDKs end too, but the damage from Brew's is actually quite similar (a little less for Master of Harmony) and provides additional value in the form of CDR from extra Keg Smashes. On top of that, BDK definitely won't always be at max stacks of their bone shield, especially in M+, so they're not always going to be getting their full damage increase.
We brew just need more hp. We are way to soft compared to the other tanks, also this is just my opinion but i wish brew had teaching of the monastery like the other classes. and i like the button blot. it means im doing more the whole fight. im very high dmg and im not just stand there waiting on cd bc i have to wait for the same spells over and over again. with brew i can spam bunch of spells and always do something the whole time im fighting
Softer then other tanks? Idk what you're playing man but I don't feel in danger very often. Even outside of CDs I feel pretty stable. Need more into your verse and shit
Will have to see what their big plans are for dungeons and test to see how that impacts routing first, probably will have that video out in august at some point.
