@@dh41005 best way hes going to learn is at the top level with harsh punishments. Why would he race in a lower tier with lower competition where he would dominate. Tiers are pace based and they should punish him until he learns, no matter how hard the punishments need to be.
Well, the Benham incident is a bit different, unbelievable mistake from him, but in the end it was a mistake, it was not because he just lost his mind because someone overtook him. He apologised, they don't have a problem with each other because of it. The rest was pretty atrocious though. ^^
otis is a big problem like what is this kid thinking they should just make the league 18+ and whenever something like that happens get them an instant race ban look at what dylan warran did to kiefer in austria idk how he is still in the league
at least warrens punishment is valid as the league put a statement out saying if dylan warren had anymore incidents even remotely like that he will not be racing in the league anymore
I think the only solution is giving way harder punishments like league bans and etc. and give them out if you have over for example 3 race bans you get a ban from the rest of the season and if it continues you then get a league ban so you have no chance of racing in that league again.
All the incidents that got put in this video are right to be put in it but the one with Jake was probably not right in this video bcs it was a really bad accident cuz he didn’t see him coming and he also didn’t do quali in this race bcs he felt so bad even though he knew he’ll get a quali/race ban
i cant even play on the f1 2022 ! like 40 minute to be in a 7+ players race and each time i get hit in the first corner ! not even exagerating ! multiple time trying to play and each one finish like this ! CANT PLAY IN 1H30 its crazy ! and the ranked are non existent .... how could they produce a game who have good phusic and car but u litteraly caznt play it ....
What's interesting to me is, that a good percentage of the clips where the driver clipped is complaining about the driving of others, there's at least of modicum of fault lying with the driver complaining; yet it is as though they refuse to even think they have any blame to bear. For sure it's understandable in the moment and I've done the same thing as them while playing the game. I wonder if any of the ones blaming others re-thought about their own role in the incident.
All these guys are very fast but they dont have race craft at all. The problem is there is no consequences, the moves they are going for will never come off but they know they can just go and retire in the pits and come back next week. Based on the incidents you showed here not a single one of these guys will even make it past my league trial race against the AI.

It's clear Otis and Alfie only race with AI cars, they go for impossible overtakes and lunge into gaps that don't exist because if it was an AI car, it would move straight out of the way .But these are the best drivers in the business, they would never expect it so they turn right in. Otis and Co lunge and try to pass and run side-by-side through literally every corner, no racecraft or respect at all
To be fair all these youngsters shouldn't be allowed to race against season racers because they to immature and cant handle the pressure so think until they mature they shouldnt be allowed to race in the top leagues

Otis is a big time TT merchant, he sucks at racing wheel to wheel. The incident with Benham was just an honest mistake by Jake I don’t think he saw Bari coming with all the traffic. Lucas, Jarno, and Marcel are probably the 3 cleanest on the grid.

Otis in Bahrain is not as shocking as in Qatar against Fahssi, but you can clearly see him steering into Leigh and Ronhaar. His driving attitude needs to change before f1 esports, ngl. He needs to drive more cleanly to establish a name for himself in f1 esports. Or he'll be known for the driver he currently is.
Otis has been bad, go look at JDs old races with him, Otis knew how to quali and gap in the race, once he gets caught up in a battle with someone that’s where you see his weakness, man can’t battle wheel to wheel to save his life. But I guess you won’t be great at everything.
I like Otis cause of his pace, hopefully he can improve how he is on track cause i believe he could be really good, hes still fairly young which is a thing that contributes to it, he definetley needs somewhere to race that isnt as high level and in the spotlight as where he does now but thats just not possible with how quick he is so hopefully he learns quickly at the top

The solution is very clear in my eyes. From what i've seen, Otis, Fassi, and Warren all deserve either a ban, or some serious points reduction and/or qualifying ban. That's the only solution that will make them reconsider their driving.
They all got one. Otis got a very severe penalty for the shennanigans he puled. And Fassi got a race ban too. I don't know about Warren tho. But they need to be strict with this enforcement. Not just because other drivers said so but because it is the right thing to do. PSGL NEEDS to follow suit

I think Otis is not used to racing at his own level and he always thinks he can outmove and outbreak everyone. But at the level he races at now, thats just not possible. They are all just as fast as him so u need to be patient and methodical about the moves you are gonna make
It honestly doesn't feel like they're racing anymore, every lap just feels like someone is trying to get revenge on another driver. I can understand rivalry, but the fact that there have been this many incidents and issues and F1 23 has only been out since June is wild. I really hope something can be done to resolve these issues as I would absolutely love to see all these guys driving with passion and respect for each other, and hopefully inspire the next generation to follow in their footsteps! :D
I would say there's a few changes I would make: - Minimum Age: either 18, or of an age to have left compulsory full-time education in that drivers country. If F1 has a social responsibility like it claims it does, it definitely has a responsibility to ensure that the eSports drivers complete their education. - Required Wage: all of the F1 teams that compete should be required to pay a wage to their drivers. If they're expecting the drivers to represent them, to spend the sort of time they do practicing, they should be fairly compensated. - "Feeder Category": We already have the Challenger Series to enter eSports, but there should be an equivalent of F2 for eSports. Basically, exactly the same as the eSports championship is, but a second tier. That way, instead of drivers just being dropped if they're not performing, they can be demoted to the second tier, still race for the team, have the opportunity rebuild their confidence or improve their skillset, while also widening the number of drivers that can compete - Harsher penalties: Too many of the drivers on the eSports grid are what Twitter calls "time trial merchants" - lightning fast over single laps, but completely devoid of racecraft. Otis Lawrence and Alfie Butcher in particular are notoriously bad at this, but there are plenty of others, and we all know who they are. More in-race Disqualifications from the eSports stewards, more Qualifying bans, more Race bans, and harsher time penalties after the race from the stewards. These guys are supposed to be the best F1 players in the world, but the standard of racing is worse than my league (and I'm crap). - Damage: Simulation-Simulation, and nothing else. That's a sure-fire way of dealing with some poor driving. For it to be the top level of F1 eSports and to not use Simulation damage is kinda embarassing to be honest. - Improve the equipment: It's completely fair for F1 to have a single supplier for all equipment, and supplying for free to the drivers - it reduces disparities where one guy is using a £100,000 full-motion sim rig and someone else is on a Logitech G29 clamped to their desk. However, Fanatec really need to get their shit together. The equipment should be tested by the eSports drivers, and should be as high a standard as possible. The current CSL equipment clearly isn't up to scratch. - LAN: All races should be LAN, not just to reduce the risk of cheating, but because eSports should be an event. So many people watch the races and qualifying, it should be a showpiece. Get F1 drivers to guest appear in the pre-race show, guys like Lando, Max, George, do loads of sim racing. Make it an event that really shows off that this is the top level of eSports in the most popular motorsport series in the world. Just look at how Japan and South Korea have the massive eSports events in arenas for games like CS:GO and similar. - Expulsion from the leagues: As a tie-in to the "Harsher penalties" section, there are a number of people who compete in eSports, PSGL and WOR that should not be allowed to. I'm not going to name any names, we've all seen the videos, but anyone that demonstrates a track record of particularly poor racecraft, crashing and just a fundamental lack of skill beyond "fast at hotlaps" should be thrown out of the system until they learn to race properly.
People will justifiably blame the drivers but tbh the bigger issue will always be the refereeing as that's what's actually setting what is or is not allowed. And the punishments have to be high as well.
Yeah absolutely - as in all forms of motorsport, you push the limits of the rules to the maximum. If you can get away with deliberately crashing, you will. If they said "deliberately crash into someone and it's a 1 race ban", it'll stop immediately because it won't be worth doing it.
What I feel is that we have clean drivers like Lucas, Jarno, Bari (he races cleaner compared to previous years), Dani (both Bereznay and Moreno), Frederik, Nicolas or Marcel and a bunch of dirty drivers like Dylan, Otis or Alfie. It is quite sad.

And in the most recent Saudi track, he sent it into an impossible to overtake corner which resulted in 5 drivers either retiring or getting damage. The unfortunate thing is that the newer racers, dylan, otis, alfie, luke smith, ishmael ect don't have racecraft. They are fast yes, but they burn all there tyres and ERS then pit early and have no tyres but fight every single battle like its for the championship. Compare this to lucas, Jarno, Bari, Dani, Freddie ect, those all understand that sometimes giving a position and using them to save resources is better than holding 1 position. They are just too desperate to keep track position, its the reason they arent at esports teams competing for championships, they are racing each lap as a different event, rather than racing for the full race and understand when to push and when not to.
The pedal breaking situation is happened with dani bereznay in f1 esport in 2018 and that was on the first event and if we didnt see the first event dan will be win that year championship

the thing with these drivers is that if some1 overtakes them on a little agressive way or do something a little aggressive they answer in being aggresive back just embarrasing at this point
For me, there could be an idea with the social aspect of F1 eSports could be filled with like events irl. Like they have a meal at the end of the eSports season to celebrate even being in the area they're in. For the driving aspect, last year was bad, but this year so far has been attritious and I feel like the leauges need to deal with this better, as drivers such as Jarno , Lucas and Marcel are being affected by the driving standards falling. Thankfully it's been penalised with the incidents of Dylan and Otis but as we've seen with the Thomas, Brendon and Otis incident at Bahrain, it needs to stop. Especially with the Otis, Fhassi incident which cannot be repeated again without expulsion from the leauge. There needs to be strong words to all drivers, that it isn't unacceptable and that incidents that may happen on track are solved behind the scenes and hopefully amicably.
F1 esports will always be a joke. All the drivers think about is their ego and god forbid someone dares overtake them, and god forbid they have to wait for an opportunity to overtake for a few laps, behind someone they consider slower. Any mistake is met with wreckless retribution. They don't care about the brands associated with them or with the events they race at. They simply have no professionalism. On the other hands, the stewards for these events are just as unprofessional, not taking their jobs seriously enough to appropriately punish this sort of behaviour.
Always great content. The reality is that it's a choice to pursue such a 'thing'. I may be biased, but always put education first. Take the rig with you to uni/college if you need to. That said, if you're in it, commit to it. Part failures are unacceptable at the top level. They should be provided with top equipment that is tested, etc. If they buy their own stuff, well they know what they are getting into.

I will focus my comment on the "sacrifice" aspect of trying to succeed in eSports. I am a former league racing driver who competed on F1 games from 14 to 17 year-old. I reached AOR PS4 Split 1 in 2019 & 2020, Formula 4 thanks to SimRacing and also was qualified for some qualifying eSports races. At this time, it was already a great level (competing with people such as Lucas, Bari or Jarno) and it required an incredible amount of dedication to perform in competition. As a driver, we accept to put so much efforts into this activity because we are simply excessively passionate about it. Our free time and "priority" becomes F1 eSports and the term sacrifice is truly right. Consequences can be seen especially for young drivers and here are the reasons why : ● Not giving enough attention to relationships with people of your age (often busy and with older people than you on the grid), so you build yourself by being in constant gap with them irl. ● Being very young again when you start, so you do this without really understanding how you work as a human being (creates lack of performance and frustration) ● Not dealing properly with the notion of "pressure" which can impact the self-confidence on many aspects because young drivers lack on emotional intelligence. A very interesting thing to analyse about all these drivers is how they are naturally talented. It's tricky to imagine for people watching this as spectators but all these boys are incredibly intelligent and sensitive at the same time in their genetic. They are absolutely beasts. They have a way to see precision and perfectionism that goes beyond wording. In my experience, my journey in SimRacing & F4 was the first manifestation of the existence of specific aspects of my personnality (Hypersentivity, High Intellectual Potential and Autism). These characteristic traits are a beautiful source of richness (fir example in sport) but only if you perfectly know how to deal with them. And when you don't and it bursts, things can become tough when you must put the performance on the table. Teenager time is a crucial period for a human being because you build yourself and by experience, not having a "conventional" one can be an inconvenient for the future. First, those people need to find a sort of balance to not burst inside. Second, they must get their roots known to pretend having great branchees at such high level. This kind of introspective work must be realized and F1 teams should be part of this crucial process, inside and with specialists. This is in the interest of their drivers but also in their own. Plenty of respect for all these guys who sacrifice a part of life for their dreams but, people around them also have to make sure that everything is building okay in the mind. It still the most important thing in life👍

Continues to not leave room, emotions rise, inevitable retaliation. 5. About 18 cars fighting for the same piece of track, that’s the result of not having a radar and not realizing there’s more than one car along side one of your sides 6. Jake not paying full attention, he knows that’s on him 7. Tomek probably thought he was clear but should’ve left more room still as the arrow was still red so he deserves space 8. Carreton seems to not have a feel for this years brake model as he can’t get his car slowed down anywhere 9. Dylan is moving in the braking zones then proceeds to block marcel for no real reason
dylan warren said that he was blocking marcel so that the guy behind them couldnt go for the fastest lap but he got caught out by some people cause the guy who was wanting to go for the fastest lap was on an outlap so he was blocking marcel for no real reason. at least the league put out a statement saying if he had any incidents even remotely similar to that he would not be racing in the league anymore.
For F1 eSports there needs to be some kind of live stewards room, where there are people who look at incidences and they can dish out penalties. It needs to be more professional, this is just a joke at this point lol
there is. they dont use the in game penalties. in mexico race at the start, both of those drivers were given penalties so jarno finished 2nd instead of the 3rd he was in game

This year I thought the F1 Esports will be a little bit more spicy and I was looking forward to it. But when I see it all at once, it makes me sad how bad has it all turned.
This is a very simple solution. Just like real life the esports racers get to learn as they go. Have the league race a brand new game. New physics, New cars, and new game systems are learned on the fly. This evens out the competition. Have all of them race at the same place on the same location
If you give up your life to play a game... then at that point the game played you. This should all be recreational, that's what games were created for. Don't let delusion ruin your life.

i‘ve had a problem with esports for a long time now for a couple of reasons. perfect wheel to wheel racing is literally art for me and for sure these guys are fast but it seems like no one is interested in having good battles anymore. the way some people come from a long way back and divebomb, the way people drive in front of you to block you when they know the overtake is probably coming, the way no one cares if they touch and the way people try to overtake in corners where you don‘t overtake it just hurts to see. and of course everybody blaming everyone else. what was tomasz even complaining about during the silverstone incident? the reasons are quite clear. it‘s what sim racing separates from real racing: you can afford to be overly aggressive because nobody has to fear to get hurt or to get a broken bone or something if you collide. you just switch off the game and move on. there are - not all of them but some - kids that basically lost track of what they are actually doing because they want to be successful so desperately. no respect whatsoever.
Stewarding for league racing has got to improve otherwise the scene will implode. Same for anti-cheating on a once great series. It's super sad to see great people become depressed and have fits of rage like that.
It's ridiculous how close they are from each other. EA needs to change something in the physics model or else to allow better 1v1 battles. Come on, even in real life competitions with equal performance cars this doesn't happen.

A better F1 game would be a son of F1 and BeamNG, there should be a option "BeamNG_damage_model" and these little touches and banging wheels would cause broken wings, open holes in chassis, flat tires and ruining both drivers race 😂. Then these virtual drivers would know how to be carefull and also would get fired (punished) from the team or the competition for being a bad driver.
As for Jarno comment about equipment. I do have Fanatec and have never experience any issue at all. He must be doing something wrong on pedal setup. I heard he changed some things which i dont remmeber what is but it seems to be working. About age limit i don't agree with age change but i agree that these drivers are compromissing their social life for basically no money and this makes no sense. They should be well paid to justify this compromise as we are not talking about a long carreer.
Ive always kind of looked at F1 esports as a joke because of all of this stuff. I understand that they have to use the F1 games but I know for sure the quality of racing would improve if you used an actual sim to run these championships. not a simcade. damaged model is horrendously goofy and it allows way too much contact between drivers. Not to mention the driving standards going out the window when the slightest bit of emotion hits these competitors

My steps to fixing F1 Esports. - Minimum age to race professionally is 20. - Drivers sign 6 month contracts with respective teams, with the option of adding more months depending on performance - Each driver receives €1,600 for participating in each race, reward money is given accordingly to each drivers finishing position. Eg :- 1st place is €7,000+€1,600 participation bonus...2nd place €6,000+1,600 participation bonus...3rd place €5,000+€1,600 participation bonus...4th place €4,000+€1,600 participation bonus...5th place €3,000+€1,600 participating bonus...6th place is €2,000+€1,600 particupation bonus...7th place €1,600+€1,600 participation bonus. Resst of the grid receives €1,600 for participating in a race weekend. - Introduce fines to the drivers for dirty racing. - In addition to fines introduce a penalty points system. 3 instances of dirty driving and you receive a 2 race suspenion.(hurts drivers pockets not to receive the 1,600 for each race, which incentivises clean and fair racing) - 4 seasonal tournaments a year. Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring themed tournaments with prize money for winning the championship Obviously most of these ideas require some investment but the esports scene is growing so there are plenty of companies who would be willing to sponsor this. Just a few ideas i had, let me know what you'd change or add.
I quit F1 games and league racing years ago, and I'm so glad that I did. Sometimes I check out some of the old channels like this to see what's currently going on, and it always confirms to me that I made the right decision. Your concerns about young people sacrificing their life are 100% true, and it's very sad. A lot of them will turn 25 or 30 one day, and realize how much they have sacrificed and how much time they have wasted... to sweat a video game that gives them nothing in return. You never get that time back.
same. i feel like the money ruins it. back in the day, league racing was a fun hobby for people who are passionate about racing. there was no pressure, the only purpose was to enjoy the racing. i think that's how it should be. the f1 esports drivers now put themselves in a situation where they HAVE to win, because their living depends on it. that always creates a toxic environment.
Of all the moments in this video it was the Brazil one between the merc and Williams that shows the biggest issues. Firstly you have the issue of these top 30 guys are all using league racing as experience not as a competitive league, there are no major prizes on the line in leagues so they are just mess around races effectively. Secondly you have the issue of the way that all these guys think they are max verstappen and dive bombs are standard overtakes. Thirdly you have the biggest issue of the lot. This game is an ARCADE GAME. Meaning that the cars are all the same and making your car ultra aggressive has no drawbacks beyond drivability. If you watch other esport races you see that gaps form, racing happens naturally and setups make a difference in more than just pure speed. Tyres are more important to keep an eye on, adjustments in the car are more critical. F1 isn’t an esports game and people are treating it as one that is the biggest issue.
At this point, we're literally watching a bunch of kids playing a game. I don't know why people get surprised when they act like kids playing a game... If they want the standards to improve, they need to start banning people who can't act like adults. Mistakes will always happen but clearly in a lot of these instances, it's just kids raging.
This year esport must be lan. No excuse. Pandemic situation is over and this will ensure all drivers to race on same level and no d. Cheating allegation which is quite annoying. The prize is just too big to play online on drivers home.
There's one immediate and necessary fix that could be implemented immediately. Blanket ban on anyone allowed race in money tournaments before the age of 18. Kids are too emotionally immature to act professional and should be concentrating on their education and social lives anyway. If they want to be an eSports driver when they become adults, so be it.

well, watching the footage of the "esports" drivers incidents and their behaviour dealing with these incidents, I kinda understand corporations not willing to increase funds for this shit show. And I wonder if the drivers truly understood that their competition is a marketing platform and the impact of their actions. For instance: Retire from a race because of a rather small contact. Or refusing to keep racing because of near mental breakdown after a brake check. I wonder when and If the drivers truly understand their own role this whole mess. Plus... a better f1 game would also nice, right?
I have a real life job and I have two college degrees in CADD and Mechanical Engineering. Unfortunately, here in the US, college is the biggest scam in the world. In terms of eSports, these kinds of people who do eSports are ruining these games.

Its incredible I played halo esports for the better part of 13 years and just because your a pro doesn't mean youre having fun, especially when youre playing over 6 hours a day everyday even if you haven't slept because they overwork you. The people organizing events have no idea what to do to make it a fair competition, like making qualifying tournaments online when LAN is the only true skill representation is the stupidest thing ever. And Jarnos dealing with shoddy hardware cuz the people who organize that tournament are content on using things that aren't built for quality but for scamming, its incredible how unreliable almost all the modern pedals are, logitech pedals are the best and most reliable for me, everything else thats not enthusiasts level of quality just breaks instantly so you buy more from them. Just because youre proffesional in a game doesn't mean its fun, I'm friends with the best halo players ever for years, and no-one wants to play the game. But to be fair for proffesionals the game will never be good enough, like its your home so you want it to be perfect. But, its still unacceptable how little our opinions actually mean to the organizers and developers.
Recently, a couple of days ago, I was taken out on lap 1 in 45min race in iRacing. While "towing", I went to fetch my earbuds, and listened to a podcast for the remainder of the race. I was pretty happy at the end. And when I looked at replay, I saw it was nobody's fault, or just a bad situation in a rolling start. I used to get upset, but when I saw so many replays where I saw me having so much space I could have left for the other guy; an honest mistake from the other car affected; or even a different car;... then you start to have some humility, and not just think the worst, even if you got taken out on lap1 T1. However, I can see that it's make or break in almost every single race, and these youngsters having a mental brakedown because of the bad result,... This is not good. For every reason JD listed. I don't like where simracing and e-sports is pushing competitive virtual racing.
There's such a big buble in eSport scene, people think that it's certain that their favourite game will get bigger and bigger and bigger esport money. While in reality things in esport are very unrealiable and impossible to predict. For certain, you shouldn't count your life to it..
Thanks genius, you just said a whole lot of nothing. It’s pretty common knowledge nowadays that esports bleed money heavily. The esport technically has gotten bigger and the prize pools have gotten bigger too, it’s just that it will plateau and or decline at one point or another. Racing esports I believe is such an untapped market since there isn’t a whole lot of racing series bigger than f1 esports besides something like the LeMan series...if the developers and esports scene got their shit together for f1, they’d do well.
“Untapped market”? Please. Racing games are niche’ at best, and F1 racing games are a niche’ of that. There’s no untapped potential in this market. There’s a lot of passion that game devs are feeding off of and turning that into marketing. But the greater gaming and esports community at large couldn’t give 2 shits less about racing esports.

What Dylan did to Kiefer should 100% just be banable, If you're out of the points in p15 with 3 seconds of penalties why intentionally hold people up, it's like people who just stay out on hards with their only intention being to hold people up, I can't imagine it's fun for the people their holding up and if someone did it to them when they were in a position to win the race they would hate it just as much, not to mention it's incredibly not fun to watch...it should never be a thing.
