We can be 100% sure that the indgame store is working perfectly on launch though.

There was once a time when a game came out, you placed the disk into your console, and it was complete and functional with all of the content there from the beginning.

Imagine the people who missed this news and get their buddies all prepped to play campaign co-op on day 1. "Na, it's Halo, co-op has to be here somewhere.". It's what I do every Halo game, or used to do anyway

Not having Forge for half a year is a massive blow. Half the reason the multiplayer in Halo 3 / Halo Reach had such longevity was the endless supply of custom games made in Forge.

I’m still just sitting here wondering how incomplete the game was when they initially wanted to release it.

Compared to Battlefield 2042 and CoD: Vanguard, while this isn’t the greatest news at all, it seems to be quite a lot better than its competitors because it actually works and feels quite fun on the multiplayer side of things.

Remember when games used to come out with everything instead of having to wait for months for a 100% full game?

It's kinda disappointing that most triple AAA games nowadays feel like they have the mentality of releasing a partially finished game, and then planning to finish it down the road

Anyone who says's Forge is "not a dealbreaker" has clearly never played it. The amount of pure fun and creativity that mode inspires is worth the price alone for me.

While I personally don't mind a few month wait for co-op and forge, I can see why people are upset. I'm hoping this means that some of the rumors about the campaign and forge are the reason for the delays. An open world less linear campaign probably presents unique issues with co-op, and if forge is going to include a.i./bots on top of everything else I'm fine with waiting.

What kind of shocks me is that they’ve had 6 years of feedback from the community about halo 5’s half-baked launch and plans were not set in stone from day 1 to insure the game would be feature complete at launch. Dude, we made videos back in the day about how awful the wait for “stuff halo ships with” was.

Initially I was going to be ok with no co op campaign at launch, than I went back and looked at my original copy of halo 3 and realized after 12 years I am yet to beat the he game solo on any difficulty and had a clear change of heart.

This is extremely disappointing. I haven't played Halo since Halo Reach and Halo 3. Everything looked soo promising for Infinite and I even got my friends to get onboard with Halo. We will probably still get it but I was looking forward to Forge and Co-op. I was banking on those experiences to bring me back to those nostalgic times of the Halo franchise 😔

I literally don't give a fuck. I love forge but after the heartbreak that was Cyberpunk 2077, (and after the forge leaks showing a super advanced forge mode for Infinite), I'd rather they play it safe and do what they must. For me Halo hasn't been the same since Reach, and now we're finally getting it again, I want it to be as good as it can be.

I miss halo 3 when it first came out. That was perfection in its own moment.

Forge I could wait but not being able to play campaign with the boys day 1 is a major disappointment. It’s so weird because halo 5 had a big focus on the co op campaign with the 4 player squads.

The exclusion of playable elites, assassinations, forge, and campaign co-op even after a year delay really makes me wonder how rough the game would have been if it shipped last year. It really sounds like 343 bit off more then they could chew and Microsoft was more then willing to let them choke if it meant selling their new console.

Campaign co-op is without a doubt my favorite thing about Halo. There's nothing more fun than getting a group of friends and going for every single player achievement in the game together, laughing at the story as we crack jokes during all the cutscenes, and then spend at least a solid week torturing ourselves to beat the game on LASO mode. The last time a Halo multiplayer mode was as much fun as that was back during the height of Halo 3's multiplayer days.

Some of the best memories of my life was playing split screen coop with my friends and families. I would spend hours on my time beating halo 3 campain with my older brothers, and I when halo mcc came out me and my older brothers would spend days sitting on the couch beating every single halo from combat evolved to halo 4 on all difficulties. The fact that halo infinite will not have split screen coop on day one saddens me but I will still get the game and wait for split screen coop.

I’m worried about the things they haven’t mentioned; Firefight, theater, custom games, fileshare, game modes like Infection, Race, Juggernaut, etc. What other core Halo pillars will be missing on December 8th?

Does anyone know if they addressed Spartan collision? Walking through people will have a huge impact on custom games. Also we definitely need more ragdolling, especially from the hammer

Honestly, the moment I heard that the game was gonna be open world to some degree, I sorta just wrote off co-op even being a thing. I'm surprised they're actually trying to make it work in the first place. Also yeah, the delay to Forge actually makes me more excited then upset, who knows what sort of crazy shit we'd be able to do if they have to delay it for so long after launch.

Anyone else remember the good old days when games were complete upon release and no one was worried about what wasn’t finished, and it was just the story and characters we had to worry about?

It's so weird to me that co-op is one of the delayed features considering it was such a big part of Guardians identity at launch. While I agree Forge is important to the franchise and goes a long way towards longotivity (especially important considering the length of time between entries compared to it's contemporaries like Call of Duty and Battlefield), I think launching without co-op is such a bad idea and hurts the game since it's so engrained in Halos identity, I don't think I've met a Halo fan who has never played through a campaign in co-op. It's like launching a Gears of War game without co op available.

I do find it disappointing that these features aren't there at launch i plan to wait 3 months for coop I feel the campaign with ya bros is the best way to experience halo

I can see why 343’s suits think it’s acceptable from a business standpoint to launch without campaign co-op and Forge. The most popular current games don’t have either of those. But these are franchise staples that fans should expect. Hopefully Infinite blows everyone away though, and launches with tons of content.

That scene at 2:02 gave me nostalgia, I remember playing split screen on the 360 with my older brother when he bought the Halo Mash-Up for Minecraft.

I think most people don't understand that game development comes with a lot of difficulties, especially on such a large scale. 343 have definitely had a lot of issues, like it was said with leadership changes and more, so I really think we should be cutting them some slack. When it comes to game development, the more time in the oven the better, as the content will be more polished and feature heavy, which at the end of the day we all want. I absolutely agree that delaying it is the best decision, I am disappointed, but knowing the industry and the complexity of game development, especially with large companies, I cannot give 343 shit for doing it. On a side note I must say that the studio is very lucky to have investors that are willing to have let the game be delayed for a year as well as those two crucial features, something that Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt Red did not have (it's a shame because Projekt had already delayed the game by a few months and cut features to help finish it, but they really needed another year which the higher ups were not prepared to give, that's the reason why 2077 released the way it did, and also because it was such an ambitious project. So I cannot give those developers any hate either). PS: Knowing The Act Man's audience I am probably going to get a lot of shit for sympathising with both 343 and CD Projekt Red in this comment, but if you're going to be against me at least be civil about it. The last thing I need is someone screaming in the replies like an entitled child. Just be respectful and understanding please.

I mean it took over a year for PC to get forge on Halo MCC and MCC to THIS DAY STILL doesn't have cross play Coop

So disappointing. I've been playing the flight, tons of fun and really nostalgic but man... no forge, no campaign co-op, no custom color combos, no dual wield, no elites, and the shitty battlepass unlock system. I am not going to give my money towards a product that isnt finished because I'm so sick of half assed games being released. I get it, we dont want another cyberpunk, but if we keep paying for games despite all the missing content, companies will never stop doing it. I'll definitely get the game, but it certainly wont be day one. Maybe after those 3-6 months when it's an actual halo game.

I’d be very interested to watch a documentary on this game like what they did for the original games. This game has been a wild ride. I think what’s important for people to realize is that this game has been through hell. The game was originally supposed to be released last year, and I don’t actually think it would’ve been as glitchy as people think it would’ve been. I’m sure covid had something to do with it being delayed. And once Joe came in, he changed everything around because he didn’t like the route the game was going. That means they were pretty much reworking a HUGE portion of the game. So of course it wouldn’t be ready if they had to rework a lot of it. And I’m sure that goes into why Co-op and forge were delayed as well. According to the Reddit post, because Joe wanted to rework the “freedom” the campaign has, they couldn’t figure out how it would work. Like how would checkpoints work when people are in two completely different places. I think that delaying Co-op and forge was the best option. I can live without them even though those are my favorite things to do in halo. I just hope we get a quality campaign and multiplayer. I also think people are too harsh on them. Some people are acting as though they haven’t acknowledged any of the feedback we’ve given them from 4 and 5 when that’s exactly what they’ve been doing. They’ve listened to so much of our feedback over the years and just because of this one thing, some people choose to ignore it. Yes, having Co-op and forge is pretty major for halo, but it’s not like they didn’t want to have it in the game on launch. I’m sure no one is more disappointed about this than 343 themselves. I just want people to realize this.

Personally, I would prefer if they delayed campaign until co-op was finished. I want to sink my teeth into it with all my friends and be up until 3AM hyped up with some Mountain Dew.

Would you rather be able to play now and take the 2 features 3 and 6 months later, or would you rather they just keep it unreleased for another 6 months...I am more interested in the single player experience being amazing and repeatable, I played combat evolved co-op like hundreds of times! it had awesome replayability...if the quality is there I will be there with my friends when it gets here...just make it GOOD!

Most games lately are really competitive and lack of Co-op makes it even harder for casuals to find good games with it. That’s why I’m so excited for Halo Infinite Co-Op and Outlast Trials. Most companies probably thought that it takes more effort and less profitable (Fuck you Madden). Not everyone wants to be a sweaty E-Sports gamer. Some people including myself just want to enjoy the experience and story along the way. I missed the times of messing with my friends without getting competitively shouted and just laughed at the shitstorm’s about to happen in the game

Honestly... I think having a “Basic Forge”, like Halo 3 or Halo Reach level Forge for Launch, would help a LOT to tide us over until Infinite’s “Super Forge”.

I enjoy your videos man, great content. Can you just clear something up for me though? Halo was supposed to launch last year right? They delayed it because it wasn’t ready (I was all for it, make the very best game you can and take your time and don’t release it until it’s ready). My question is that if it was supposed to come out last year and 343 thought it looked good, does that mean that had Halo been released like it was supposed to we wouldn’t have had Forge or Co-op (theoretically) a year later ????

I hate how game updates or “free dlc” these days is just developers putting back old shit that was in previous versions of whatever game and by the time their done adding everything back the next installment to the franchise takes priority, leading to missed opportunities to add new and creative ideas that can bring some new life to a franchise

As disappointed that I am co-op is delayed, I take comfort in knowing that I would be significantly more disappointed if it wasn't delayed and was completely broken on launch instead.

I really do wish they would release f2p competitive day one and hold off on releasing campaign until it's done. I understand why they won't do that, but it would be nice to have the full experience once the paid version releases.

It's one thing to not have forge at launch, but not having forge for at least 6 months is terrible.

they had a really hard decision to make, between co-op and forge being delayed OR delaying the game entirely until those come in when they made steadfast promises that it would fully released in 2021. No real right answer, this one probably upsets the least amount of people, since people can wait for those features to come if it's a dealbreaker for them and people who can't wait to get their hands on the game get it as soon as possible. As long as everything releases without an overwhelming sense of being unfinished, I can definitely see why they chose this route, because of publishers, shareholders, all the shit that's been infused into the industry by modern day economics and it should float them until they finish. Obviously once upon a time, original Xbox/PS2 era, shit was different, game had to be delayed to come out fully finished or swathes of content had to be cut (see Halo 2). BUT they've assured that those features will come out in a timely manner and I think they feel the pressure to have it meet a high standard of quality, or this will possibly be the end of 343 making Halo.

Honestly, I'm glad that they are listening to their community instead of cover their ears and act like nothing happened. Yeah, maybe not having forge and campaign co-op is really bad, but at least they didn't lied about the state at the game.

A point you didn’t mention that I feel like is huge, is families especially dads and sons can’t share that experience from the get go without spending 1k on consoles and the game and TVs. But think how many adults that grew up with halo have kids, we want them to experience the game like we did

To be fair about the Skewer, it's designed to be anti-vehicle, while still useable on infantry. I want to tip my hat if players nail other players with the Skewer.
