Welcome back to Tiny Blue Games! My name is Csaw or Chris, and today we are talking about the state of World of Warcraft (WOW) in 2023. Dragonflight has been out for a few months now and I have experienced many of the core expansion features (Dragonriding, the Dragon Iles, the talent system revamp, the profession system revamp, the new dungeons, raids, and even some solo shuffle games). Overall I think DragonFlight is an expansion that takes WOW back to its roots with some more modern quality-of-life changes. If you are someone who has enjoyed wow in the past you will likely enjoy this iteration of the game.

Nice video with some very good points about the game (and it's future)! I dived back into wow myself recently after a fairly long break, and while i've decided that wow's endgame is no longer for me i am having a surprisingly good time (very) casually leveling and doing side stuff on the way. The entire experience just feels so much more pleasant than previous expansions! While i hoped otherwise, i did feel that the story was unfortunately hard to take seriously when any scene that isn't pre-rendered looks straight up silly most of the time, combined with the fact that almost every main character speaks with the same slow and dramatic tone of voice no matter the context. There are some great side stories though, and the game has a positive outlook from here on out in my casual opinion

Great points Brasan! The story delivery is certainly not anything above and beyond other wow expansions, and I never feel like wow can compete in that department versus the likes of FFXIV and GW2. But overall I'm happy with the work the Dragon Iles have introduced. I'm interested to see what areas they expand the world moving forward. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

The flying system in GW2 is not the same as Dragon Flight. It might look the same but it's very different. In GW2 flying is not really a viable way to traverse zones, as the Griffon cannot fly higher than where you started and the skyscale (dragon mount) runs out of energy in the air very quickly. They did this to prevent land mounts from becoming obsolete, but failed because the skyscale is just as fast on land as most land mounts, but has the best vertical mobility in the game due to being able to cling onto walls and regain energy.

WoW has become such a huge behemoth i don't recognize it anymore. It needs a complete revamp, overhaul and extreme de-bloating.

The more I hear about WoW, the more it sounds so behind on the times. WoW is always the boomer MMO.

That's probably an accurate description. Though I will say the changes to flying feel like a step in the right direction. Which MMOs do a good job of feeling more "modern" in your opinion? Thanks for watching and commenting :)

I'm honestly glad I went on to other games. Every time I see something from WoW it looks more and more dreadful.

@@TinyBlueGames I've mostly been playing single player games! I realised that I missed out on so many great games because I only played MMOs for years. The only online game I still play is ffxiv but I just do the story in that one :D
