Just wanted to say thank you Scott, I am a survivor of this horrible tragedy, and even though i still live close by and drive by this memorial almost daily i have never been able to get myself to stop and actually go inside. this is the first time i have even been through it virtually. if you happen to come through this area in the future don't be afraid to reach out i have many survivor friends that would be willing to share their story with you. thanks again for sharing this.
Glad you made it out Rob. I hope you and your friends who survived are handling the trauma okay. I was not there, but being only an hour's drive away, this fire was very close to home, and I spent the entire next day watching news coverage with my brother and crying.
Thanks Scott. I’m a firefighter in Jacksonville Fla. Done many research papers on this event for college. One of the most tragic events in my lifetime.
I’m originally from Jacksonville moved to Ohio when I was 37 in 2015,my best friend since 1988 is the Fire Chief for Medeira Beach near Clearwater. It’s a tough job and just know it doesn’t go unappreciated
Scott - thank you for being so respectful and for sharing the story of the Station - those people should never be forgotten - what an amazing tribute they built to honor those lost lives - my respect
I was at the club when it caught fire. Luckily, my friends and I were standing in the back. We saw the flams thought the people and we ran out the door and waited to see if it was a fire or just part of the show. We saw it was a fire. We saw people crawling over each other . We managed to pull some people get out. We helped about five people. After that , my Buddy and I went around the building to see if there were any other way out. We saw a fire exit bu it turwd out to be locked. We helped whomever we could.
I didn't know this memorial even existed and definitely didn't know it would be so expansive and dedicated. This was a great video, and thanks for putting it out there for people like me who didn't know about it.
What a horrific thing that happened. But such a beautiful tribute to the victims. Rest easy to all of the people that perished in the fire. Gone but not forgotten. Thank you Scott for your kind presentation.🌹🌹🌹
Scott, Thank you for showing us this beautiful memorial. My husband's cousin was here that night and died later of smoke inhalation. I hope others will have some peace after you took the time to show us this.😢
When I was in fire inspection class we went over this fire extensively. Heart breaking, especially the footage. 80% of people will always try to leave the same way they entered. Always look for additional way out every building you go in! Picture in complete darkness. Count the doors to the stairs in hotels. Fire drills inside your own home with kids. I would only live in an apartment building with fire sprinklers. This comes from many years in the fire service.
When you said you were in the area in one of your recent videos I was hoping you would cover this. I live in the area, love this music and have come to know many of the survivors over the years at concerts and through friends. Their strength and resiliency amazes me. The video is utterly horrific but thank god it’s there because so much has been learned. Thank you Scott for covering this in your respectful way.
Scott, I just wanted to say keep up the great work. I love your videos. You're one of the most entertaining youtubers, the best in my opinion. Always look forward to your next video. ✨️ ✊🏼
Scott, this video is so well done. I had tears in my eyes while watching. My heart goes out to all whose lives were changed forever and all who lost their lives that night. It was to be a fun night out and ended in the worst tragedy. RIP 🙏
This is the most beautiful and majestic memorial I have ever seen. A true, horrific tragedy. My thoughts to those who survived and those who lost. Rest in peace, to all these beautiful angels.
Scott, I have been a subscriber for a while and I love your videos. I must say that your coverage of The Station Fire was OUTSTANDING!!!!!! It has been a few years since I cried over that night, but I am wiping tears as I write this. INCREDIBLE job, my friend... Thank you.....Thank you for remembering and sharing the story of 100 innocent people... I will refrain from sharing my thoughts and knowledge of that incident and who was to blame. All we have are memories..... Respectfully, Annie.
I heard about this horrible tragedy many times. I did not know a memorial was built where the club once stood. It is absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for showing us this beautiful place that did not start out a beautiful place. Thank you
What a very sad story. To just want to have fun and enjoy a concert, ending up in tragedy. My heart goes out to the survivors who got hurt, and RIP to the lost souls on that sad day 😔
I could’ve given you a boots on the ground in-depth account as I was there with my wife that tragic winter night. Amazingly didn’t lose anyone I knew personally but lost all fellow rock n rollers who never should’ve lost their lives at a fun night out at a concert. Thanks for listening and remembering the poor lost soul’s and their families they left behind. You never made it to Bova Bakery as I had everyone aware you might be stopping in for a visit and we’re gonna take good care of you . Next time, don’t be shy ☺️
Omg ! One of my favorite bands from back in the day. Saw their shows so many times….I was heartbroken when Jack passed away, last month. That fire was just heartbreaking. The crazy thing was, I was invited to go to that show, but couldn’t go that night. RIP to all the people that lost their lives that night. My condolences to all of the victims families 🙏
Scott, you make the best videos! I live on the west coast but if I’m ever in Rhode Island this is definitely a place I want to visit and pay my respects. I remember when this fire happened and it was and still is completely horrifying. Thank you for the respect and class you always show in your videos. ❤️
RIP to all the victims you will never be forgotten ever and thank you to all the first responders for your amazing service everyday My dad is a firefighter/emt and my stepmom is a retired nurse practitioner so i know how hard things can get Sending my love to the families and friends of all the lost souls and also to any survivor i hope you are able to heal
They do still have some footage on RU-vid - but very short ones. Mostly of the wall catching fire and a few people running towards the door. Lovely memorial. Thank you for being there
A combination of bad decisions, negligence and greed costs 100 innocent people to perish and over 230 injured. My heart goes out to all affected and suffer to this day. Its a beautiful memorial park for the souls who were lost there. I hope people respect this sacred ground. Never forget 🙏
I remember this tragedy well. I had won a radio contest to go onstage with the band for that concert, but couldn't make it for the show. May they rest forever in heavenly peace ✝️🕊
I remember this tragedy. Rest In Peace to the 100 angels who lost their lives. I hope that the ones who were injured continue to heal from both their physical and emotional scars from this tragedy. I have two older sisters so I grew up listening to 80s music. One of my all time favorite songs is Once Bitten Twice Shy. When I was little I used to say once bitten twice shy bibe because I couldn't say babe. I still listen to 80s music.
SCOTT THIS WAS ONE OF YOUR BEST VIDEOS! I am still trying to comprehend this tragedy. I remember seeing this incident on the news like it was yesterday. It made big news nationally in 2003.
Beautiful tribute to these angels Scott. You always know how to approach these types of videos with a full heart. RIP to all lives lost and blessings to the families. ❤
God Bless All the Beautiful People who not only lost there lives but also survived as well as the first reaponders and the public outside the club pulling people out.
As a RI native this was a horrible event where many of us were either there or had a connection to someone who were there. It was a horrible night watching the news coverage, praying that people who were there could get out.
Hi scott im from the UK and remember hearing about this and never forgot, absolutely heartbreaking. What a lovely memorial to all that where lost. Thankyou for sharing scott respectfully done as always. Sue in the UK
Its sad bad things happend when you want to have fun. Im glad im here and that your here scott. My birthday is Mon Sept. 30th. the first birthday without my mom and since 2003 my dads been gone. I miss them and love them but im celebrating life to honor them. spreading love to all.❤Vickie
We had somthing similar in Holland lots of young kids died in a cafe on new years eve because decorations caught fire. Thanks scott for this video and R.I.P to all victims
Hi Scott, good to see and hear you, a lot of laws broken that night. Those poor people who couldn’t get out. That picture you showed was horrific. That is a beautiful memorial site but it’s holding so much sadness. Defying rules endangers people’s lives. So really justice was never served for the victims or for the survivors either. The injury’s heal quicker but the emotional side never heals, it’s always in your head. RIP to all the victims who passed on that fateful night 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐. Best wishes to all the survivors. Thank you to everyone who helped out with this disaster. Beautiful music at the end Scott. Thank you so much Scott for putting this out for everyone to see and remember and never forget. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Scott for such an amazing tribute. I remember when the fire 1st hit the news back in 2003. Can't believe it's been 21 years since this horrific tragedy. Hopefully every 1 of the 💯 victims are resting in eternal peace. They're all loved & missed by their families & friends. All of them so young. Wonderful video Scott.
What a horrible way to go, just so tragic! That fire Marshall should’ve been prosecuted - instead he was so concerned about a door that he failed to check on anything else?? The memorial park looks well done and well maintained. RIP the victims. I hope the survivors stay strong, something like this impacts you for the rest of your life.
Same thing happened at the Beverly hills supper club in Kentucky. The headliner (see his face but can't remember his name - wasn't to say John Davidson) was even pulling people out of the doors. He still won't talk about it
Scott thank you for showing this video! I remember watching that video. It was HORRIFIC, to say the least. My heart bleeds for all the victims and everyone who lost loved ones because of it.😭😭😭 I absolutely adore your respect, compassion and caring. You are a great man. I have loved you for years, and always will. Never change. ❤❤❤
I saw great white in Medina, Minnesota two weeks before this happened and I met and talked to and got a pick from TY the guitarist such a nice guy he was trying to help the fans get out that's why he died really sad 😢
That was such a horrific night. I’m an 80s kid and have gone to numerous rock shows like that. The guitarist (Ty Longley) was from a town over from me. I recently read a book called “Killer Show” about it. It was written by a lawyer who represented the victims. Very comprehensive book. The heat and smoke was so terrible, there were ppl in a certain section had SIX SECONDS to get out or it was over. I’ll never forget reading that and seeing the results of diff tests they ran on various things. RIP
i seen that video the most heartbreaking video i ever seen absolutly horrible thank you for being so respectful as usual scott god bless you and everyone this video is about
Hi Scott, I don't remember this tragic moment, my heartbreaks for everyone who perished. I like the atmosphere of old biker bars & everytime I go into one I always look for the exits. I'll remember this story 😢 fly high free birds 🤘🏼✨️🕊
@@SCOTTONTAPE Tracy King was just helping out some childhood friends (the owners of the club)....It was a last minute call to him. He was there to help (as always) and he saved lives, yet lost his own. His wife and two young sons were left alone in a split second. That story times 100 people. That night for hundreds and hundreds of people will live forever.... Children who lost parents that night are now (themselves) moms and dads....Life goes on.. It is never the same.
What a moving tribute, Scott! You, as always, are so respectful and have so much compassion for all who have/do walk this earth. Thank you for doing this one especially. I'm an old rocker and loved Great White. Also, I don't know if you knew or not, lead singer of Great White, Jack Russell, passed away on August 7th of this year. He had Lewy Body Dementia and had only retired from touring a few weeks prior to passing. Thanks and praise from Peterborough Ontario Canada 🇨🇦❤️
Scott I appreciate the video and the respect you have shown. My sister lived near the Station Nightclub where this horrible tragedy occurred back in 2003.
Thank you covering this Scott. I remember when this happened. I just didn’t think it was over 20 years ago. So sad. Hopefully this will never happen again. To much loss of life.
Excellent video. This was such a horrible and preventable tragedy. I visited the memorial a few years ago and it is such a beautiful tribute to the 100 who died that night.
I slightly remember this tragedy Scott😢thanks for reminding us of it🫶🏻✌️🙏😔just s sad and awful….😭beautiful remembrance buildings, gardens, plaques…..peaceful🫶🏻✌️
I'm Swedish, but I remember this tragedy from the news. The park is so beautiful, so well kept and with the 45-adapter art and the memorials looking like stage monitors... Very nice! Great video as usual Scott, and with your sense of respect and dignity that you always show for any victims of crime or accidents. Well done! ❤
I do remember that. I remember the news showing the original video of when it ignited. So sad. And weird this pops up as I am in the process of looking for tix to watch them at a venue in Vegas in November.
Homage to all the victims thank you Scott for bringing it back to light as the mainstream media seems to have no appetite to reflect on it with the viewership unfortunately.
Scott you are such a compassionate man. Your tone and delivery are so respectful. I didn't know of this fire and was moved to tears. Thank you for what you do. RIP to all who lost their lives and the families they left behind.
I remember when that happened and being horrified. I was 35 back then and yes, loved Great White in the 80s. So very sad. They did a wonderful memorial and thank you for going and sharing with us.
