It’s a good rant! I have never had to work for money, but I do it because I like working, and I like teaching my children to work and to earn their own money. I sell “bits and bobs” on Ebay, seeds on Etsy, and extra produce at market.
I hate that phrase "trad wife". I saw an article in the paper last week about a woman 'trying' to live like a trad wife. She loves her life yet people were trying to say her husband is keeping her as a slave and he should be locked up. How stupid! My gran and greatgran were homemakers, it was normal, they earned bits of money which was known as 'pin money'. They sold eggs, did sewing and odd bits that they wanted to do, usually when they were saving up for something. There has to be a title for everything these days, crazy! x
@@BellyBurly87 I wouldn't say it was submitting yourself to your husband in the sense of 'you must do what he says'. It's about communication to beable to choose the sort of life you want for each other and any children you have. I remember when I was a child a lot of mums in our village worked in local factories in the evenings, they did a 6pm - 10pm shift. They were home all day and there for the family meal when the dads came home. Then they went to work and the dads took over. x
@@therichardsonssimpleliving I would consider myself a home maker but I worked night shifts also leaving after dinner when dad's back and then back early to continue being a mum and homeschooling etc. It can be done.
@@therichardsonssimpleliving my mum did bits from home then got a 9 hour a week job as a playground dinner lady. She never worked as much a my dad but her opinions were just as valid in all things. People have a very weird way of looking at things sometimes now dont they x
A stay at home wife have many titles to their name. Just because they chose to not do the job. Why does it matter how they make some money to help make the budget stretch. Thi
