For centuries mechanical keys have relied on external features, today thanks to additive manufacturing we place the features inside. A mechanical key that cannot be copied by the masses, even with today's home 3D scanners and printers.
***** Thanks for the encouragement. Actually mostly any shape can be 3D printed, that is why we have focused on making a key which is ridiculously difficult to 3D scan. If you cannot 3D scan the shape you cannot 3D print it, 3D scanning is the barrier. You could certainly make a reader for the key (like for every key), but that would require expertise, skills and knowledge. What we have created is a key that the ordinary person cannot copy with the upcoming of 3D scanners and 3D printers to the masses. Intel just announced a smartphone with integrated 3D scanner and from our own experience home 3D printers are already capable of making working duplicates. Keys need to adapt and we believe we bring the affordable solution to the public. Not impossible to duplicate, but not possible for the masses.
Cool, haven't seen this. So they originally wanted a slider type design, with the bitting hidden inside a cylindrical key. That would have been pretty cool
The more 'secure' the lock, the more sophisticated the attack. 'Solid state' X-ray tubes are readily available, so making ones own "3d shadowbox" is not that tough. Shine the x-rays through the key, use a CMOS imaging chip to 'read' the internals of the key.

Суть когда уловят, только тогда сделают хороший цилиндр. А суть в 2 правилах. 1 минимум места для действий отмычками, максимально изогнутый и тесный профиль. 2 ключ должен легко ухаживаться. В видео это сборник мусора, попал камушек, зажало его и в дом ты не попадешь уже. Короче чушь за дорого.

The pure mechanical Lock is dead. One Ley lost, the Lock is obsolete. Future is the electronic Zylinder or Lock. I have the Seccor Codeloxx Zylinder. One Key is stolen or lost? No Problem, i cancle the Key and programm a new one. Your Zylinder is fallen out of Time
