This is a masterpiece. I've heard Part 2 pop up occasionally on my Pandora Metal channel for a while, but never before heard Part 3. Today it came up and I had to replay it several times due to how good it was. So I searched for it on YT and found this. My oh my. What a good track, this entire thing. \m/
i think the best one is part 3, son of perdition. probably the band thought so too when they were naming the album but i couldn't find any covers of part 3. the song is a masterpiece. listened to it like 17 times and found it out like 2 days ago
Really. I agree. Very occasionally vocals don't ruin an album (Zao - Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest and Peace). 99% they throw the song out of whack. This is my first time to hear this band and song. I'm loving the guitar work.
You guys kick fucking ass. I know im fucked in the head but if I get teary eyed while just listening to your music...well its a thing of beauty lol. You guys help me deal with my emotions that i never learned or was taught to deal with
I heard this band on my lunch break 6.5 hours ago, once, and now it's one of my favorite bands up there with Opeth, Between The Buried and Me, Gojira, Animals as Leaders, and Unexpect. Grade A music, well done gentlemen. Victory Records has even more talent for finding artists than I once thought. Great victory indeed.
Thankful to have stumbled upon these guys. I love metal bands that can show emphasis, beauty, style, emotion, and incorporate music theory in it all at the same time. Brilliant!
I find myself absorbed into a good instrumental where the instruments talk to me. Words are good, but a song that can speak to you without words is rare.
The sound, playing and arrangement on this is masterful. Pleasant to the ear with the underlying tension only seasoned jazz musicians can add in with that mild dissonance flavoring the metal in all the best ways. Outstanding instrumental.
I first discovered this song when I was in lowest point of life and that was earlier in February. I thought I lost everything around me to not be able to believe it.. instead I became aloof and bitter instead of dwelling on it.. is how it's viewed from the outside but inside I was really hurting to the point I cried to the 2nd part of the song at it's intro and I couldn't stop repeating it. That's when I said to let go and the rest of the song just guided me through it
Still one of the best instrumentals I've ever heard!! This saga really moves in forward motion keeping the listener engaged with so many layers and killer riffs mixed with solos as well!! Great fucking job!
+Connor Keegan A style of guitar playing, often it's just monotonously playing very low notes in quick succession. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just what it is.
That's rare to see a comment about Obscura on other band "videos". ;D The beginning part also reminds me of Cynic which i really like. Wretched is is fucking amazing. Love such bands.
Yeah I just heard this band. Not sure if i really like them or if I'm just taken back by their talents. Only time will tell I suppose :P I guess it comes down too that feeling of "am i addicted to their sound?" and if i come running back or not.
Idk man I think it's just something that will take some time getting used to. Way back when I was just getting into metal I had to get used to each vocalist if it was something I wasn't used to (first one was Kalmah or CoB I think lol). It took a while but I really got into it. I try to apply that same concept here. I can't let go of my best musical discovery in years T_T I miss Billy but I'm starting to warm up to their new vocalist more and more.
