I like to think that Yasue accepted his dead here because his wind wall was on cooldown and his opponent had outsmart him, with no teammates to blame he repented for his sins by accepting his dead with honor.
The curiosity head tilt theory from Lamb can fit pretty well when you look at all her voice lines. Lamb is always inquisitive, curious, she wonders how and why things work and feel, while she's also so emotionless and serene. Seeing Trynd not only refuse but lash back out at "a peaceful death" could make her curious since "Why would one be angry at going in peace?"
I think Tryndamere going for a swing at Lamb is not only unusual as Necrit puts it but extremely rare and possibly only something someone infused with blood magic does. Mby this means that Tryndamere can attempt to defeat death. This is also reinforced because after that attack Tryndameres eyes glow red with the blood magic. In that case he is curious as to why he was able to take a swing at a peaceful death. When you fight, you fight the wolf. When I say defeat death I mean that mby Tryndamere can't die from a peaceful death (the lamb) for some time or mby that Tryndamere can defeat his own peaceful death and will only be able to die from combat i.e the wolf. If that is the case however I don't think Tryndamere would be able to realize this and only defends himself instead. This also draw interesting comparisons to Olaf and his undying rage.
It's wild to me that people aren't making the connection here. It's not that they're having some simple, humanistic response to a peaceful death or anything, it's that they're genuinely perplexed; they are trying to kill a human, of which they have aided countless times in finding their end, and they literally cannot kill him. It's not that he's resisting, lamb is used to just deferring the kill to wolf in that case, it's that they're incapable of killing him due to Aatrox's influence granting him semi-immortality. Neither the wolf nor the lamb can bring him to his end, which is perplexing to Kindred.
To be fair, Necrit was playing with the WoW streamers and also was in touch (kind of) with Asmongold who is the master of stalling and extending videos. He must learn his techniques. Asmon can also turn a 2min clip into a 2h video
This makes Aatrox's sealing part so much sadder. In his final moments of freedom, he can see death there, waiting, and despite his willingness to go, lamb never shoots at him. No wonder he's so angry all the time.
@@PengusKingdom The comment was right. If u saw how Kayle attacked Aatrox at the end of the first clip, Aatrox dropped his weapon and that means the darkin would go back to the weapon and will be imprisoned there. He just can't die. Even when seeing the lamb in those flames, it does not shoot him w/ the arrow of death or claim him bcs he is cursed to be immortal and just can't die. And that's why Aatrox wants to destroy the whole world in the hopes that it could possibly be his end.
The lyrics telling a story on top of the scenes are amazing. "Its in my blood its in my veins" - Morgana finally embracing who she really is and being unleashed. kayle taking up the second sword and ascending. "All my reasons cut like knives, keep replaying in my mind, all the times ive had to fight" Yasuo's regrets of all the mistakes he's made along the way and giving up on his purpose, which leads him to his end in this possible future scene. And of course "Im still here" is basically Tryndamere in a nutshell. Have not heard many people speak about the lyrics of this amazing song
Im still here can be tryndamere being stubborn or lamb saying u have a choice for peaceful death still so choose it dum dum, or lamb basically claiming she ain't gonna go away ,death is inevitable, all seems valid for me
I think that the whole song/cinematic Kindred is the main protagonist and the other champs are just side characters. "I'm still here" is a reference that Kindred will always be here and waiting.
I think that still here is both. All the c champions are fighting for their lives and even then they still here while that death never goes away, just like the champions death is still here too
Just a bit on the "Kindred isn't santa claus" etc. Iirc, it was stated that the Kindred are, in fact, omnipresent. Whenever there is life, there is also death, so they are there. Just not in the physical sense. They are even through the timelines, always there even when Ekko resets/rewinds things
I am still wondering how the fuck did MORDEKAISER not meet Kindred? Not even the Wolf? When he was older than Noxus and Demacia where the tale of Kindred is well knowned??? How DID HE MISS KINDRED? Or is it just because He Pre-dates all variations of Grim Reap because we know there are other Grim Reapers other than the Kindred depending on your Beliefs. Mordekaiser have a strong Concept of Death how come he did not meet any variations of said Grim Reaper?
@@Memplex-bs8iuno he has, but if you read into other stories around him you can see that he did meet her without him knowing who she is. She took his death but just because he knows a lot of death doesn’t mean he could 100% know about her
I agree that Lamb's head tilt was most likely a sign of curiosity, however for a different reason. I don't think lamb was curious how it was possible that Tryndamere was still alive and able to fight them, literal death, off. After all, Kindred at the very least have met Tryndamere before. Furthermore, they KNOW practically everyone on Runeterra ("We know your name." "We have always known it."), so I'm sure they are fully aware of HOW Tryndamere is able to survive. I believe that Lamb's curiosity stems more from the "Why?" question. Remember, Lamb is able to understand emotions, but not feel them. So I think she is simply wondering what kind of emotion, what feeling could possibly drive a mortal to even defy death. What is it, that Tryndamere values so much about living that he simply refuses to die? And I don't think Lamb even means this in a mocking or demeaning way, but that she is genuinely curious about it, wanting to understand it.
The utilization of Kindred in this is so fucking cool. there so much meaning behind literally everything. Even at the beginning with Aatrox, how LAMB watches despite Aatrox being a fighter, because Aatrox WANTS to die, and Lamb simply watches and waits to give him that death. They utilize what kindred is so flawlessly in this cinematic, and being a Kindred main, I couldnt be happier with it-!
I love the idea that since Lamb and Wolf are more metaphysical beings than actually there, Wolf was in part acting through/posessing/imitating the actions of the soldiers attacking Tryn. Like if Ashe didn't show up and take down the last two, the next shot from Lamb or attack by Wolf would of had him spinning to "fight" the two coming from behind.
but kinda makes one wonder what kind of attack it was on trynd's shoulderpad that so perfectly lined up with wolf's, more specifically leaving those kind of marks
@@zenixvampirchik652Yeah i've been wondering the same thing no weapon the enemy had could leave that kind of mark on the shoulderpad, so I think its an oversight or the Kindred are more physical beings than previously thought
@@tuomasteivonen6798 the most prevalent theory I've heard for the shoulder pad damage was that Tryndamere WAS fighting Kindred physically as well as the soldiers, I.E. Wolf was taking the place of the real-world soldiers, but was also there himself. So Tryndamere only took a hit from Wolf, and wasn't touched by the soldiers.
@@comictitan4509 I think this makes a lot of sense. If you take how they operate, they most likely try to keep the death in reality by basically mimicking what is around the one dying. With that in mind it would seem that perhaps wolf got frustrated that Trynda wasnt dying and chose to force the death itself by physically interacting with Trynda instead of representing his enemies. If thats the case then it could also be the reason for Kindred tilting her head.
Kindred has to be in the top 5 of Riot's best design concepts, in terms of lore especially. The implications of it in Runeterra and future shows is limitless, and its the main reason I play them. I may be biased bcs big Kindred main 900k or whatever, but when I watched Arcane and saw that they didn't hint at Kindred during important deaths or lots of deaths I was very disappointed, still a great show, just a missed opportunity to make a tiny bit of the community completely ecstatic. I'm over the moon that they're getting some love this season tho
In deed, and it is very unfortunate that Kindred's storywriter left Riot. They should have done everything to keep him and they should have especially taken his message to heart. Namely, that "Lore is important!"
@@deathmaster38 but the Kindred are omnipresent in different forms on runeterra, they may not believe in the Ionian Kindred or the Freljord Kindred. But, they have to believe in some concept of Death/Kindred. Besides, their masks were in the "shop" in Arcane and even so they could've hinted at the Kindred when deaths occur for the viewer not necessarily for Piltover and Zaun.
Well... Zaun and Piltover are both regions that haven't had their representations for kindred specified. It's possible they use Shurima's interpretation of Kindred (that being the gazelle and the hyena), but since there's no mention of a Piltover Kindred (and the fact that Piltover and Zaun are both regions lead by progress and innovation above all else), it's quite likely that the Kindred simply do not claim the souls from there (similar to Mordekaiser's case). After all, spirits in Runeterra need people to remember them to even exist, so it's pretty fair to assume that they can only act on people who know about their existence.
@@kn1ighttt Kindred is not the concept of death, they are just a spirits.. well they are the most well known spirit of death but still There are many different spirit of death other than kindred. If they were really THE concept of death then it wouldn't make sense for them to die by the eitherfiend( the big bird). A concept can not die and be removed it will destroy the league verse.
If you look close at Morgana and Kayle in the past section of the cinematic, right before they take out Aatrox, Morgana falls to her knees while Kayle rises up. It's some really heavy symbolism for both their futures.
I thought ashes facial expressions were the most muted in the cinematic, but it’s all in her eyes. She’s focused as she drops the two and enters the scene then the eyes shift to concern as she makes eye contact with Tryndamere before shifting back to securing the area. I felt like it was a perfect representation since when you slow down at the end where Ashe shoots her bird into the sky you can see more enemies closing in on Ashe and Tryndamere
absolutely! the facial expressions on ashe and tryndamere in that final scene were fantastic. As you said you could see ashes emotions, but also tryndameres when his eyes go back to their original color as soon as he sees his wife, indicating that hes calmed down.
I might be seeing things, but I'm almost sure that, when Ashe approached Tryndamere, she had a split second urge to go down to him with lowering her bow, but she resisted, because, well, enemies. If it is true than it's an absolutely fantastic touch. If it's not, I will still see it there nonetheless =)
Little fun fact, Trynda hit the wolf exactly four times (counting the hit that the wolf didn't parry), which is exactly the number of warriors he killed during the fight with Kindred. Also really cool detail. Cinematic timestamps: 3:11, 3:22, 3:25. 3:33
Yeah, it really hammers down how the fight with kindred is not happening in world but more of a spiritual "overlay". I think Necrit mentioned it in the last video as well, how the shoulderpad being damaged signals the connection between the kindred fight and what really happened. For this same reason it's not lamb shooting an arrow at yasuo, but just a random arrow from an archer that was lit up to represent the lambs arrow.
For the lamb head tilt, seeing as it only happened after Tryndamere broke Lamb's bow, my interpretation of it is she was confused as to why Tryndamere was trying to fight her. His fight was with Wolf and not her so was probably a bit surprised when she got dragged into the fight.
It's nice seeing them get the spotlight because they've always had the most interesting lore out of the majority of the champs. If you haven't listen to Falconshields song about them.
In my interpretation Kindred's head tilt is pretty obvious. It is because Trynda isfighting with them not only in a metaphorical sense but quite literally. As another commenter pointed out, he slashes the Wolf 4 times, and later we see 4 dead bodies left behind - so far this is in line with the fight being only in his mind. But then he attacks the Lamb, shattering her bow, which signifies that he is in fact fighting with Kindred. This makes the Lamb surprised and curious at the same time
I love it when Lamb is shooting at Trynda to check wether he wants to accept his fate or not and Trynda parries the arrow with his bare hand and then shouts at Lamb like "Leave me alone, you b*tch, i'm fighting the wolf!" 😂 The whole fight with Kindred was so good, i can't stop watching it.
I think, when Kindred appeared when they took down Aatrox, she wasn't watching him. But was there instead to claim the soul of his host that Kayle had killed.
Or rather the mortal part of his soul since this is probably the first time he was bound to his weapon as Atrox is one of the Darkins that escaped after the war
@@bastik.3011 when he became a Darkin, he was no longer mortal. Once the host body that he has taken over dies, he has to return back to the blade he is bound too. I just think it would go with the cinematic, by showing us 3 different kinds of deaths. The first being one where Aatrox's host's soul had no choice in his death. 2nd being The older yasuo choosing to go to his death. And the 3rd being Tryndamere choosing to not die and fight for his life, although most likely cause of the blood magic Aatrox forced into him.
@@reeses8607 yes i am aware but as far as i know the celestial spell triggers of the darkins mortal shell dies that's when they get bound to their weapon. Its their soul thats immortal not their body. Technically you can kill them by destroying the weapon but even that is complicated judging by what happened to nafari
@@mrdeafter says who? you? Like what are you talking about clearly they do in the Leage universe. If the Lore says that's how it works then you cant say its not
The implications of him fighting Kindred are kind of cool. When death comes to someone Lamb fires an arrow to see if they are willing before letting wolf take over if they aren't, the two don't fight in tandem as we know in the lore. Meaning if someone rejects the arrow they are subject to the wolf's fury, they aren't given a way to end it peacefully. Each time lamb fired the arrow we can assume it was because one of the soldiers was supposed to deal a fatal blow to Tryndamere, giving him the option of a peaceful death over a violent one, each time Tryndamere rejected it. Tryndamere should've died three times. This theory probably has holes, but I can say that Kindred usually doesn't fight in tandem, but the case might've been unique because it's Tryndamere.
5:10 This was intentional and planned, to the point I wouldn't be surprised if it was part of the initial storyboards. It's a beautiful motion edit. The flying arrow from one scene becomes the exploding hawkshot. This whole cinematic is filled with beautiful editing that shows a real grasp of the fundamentals.
How i imagined Kindred to be is that kindred is an omnipresent being whom only appears when someone is dying to claim their soul. Which means tryndamere was suppose to die when kindred appeared, but his immortality denies kindred from claiming him. (and thats how he fought off his enemies irl) So that little head tilt was probably confusion of "why cant i claim this man's soul"
I've watched it at least 4 times. It's actually so good man.. I genuinely can't believe they released such a banger with lore context thats not just "fight porn"
I think the Lamb's head tilt is more like "Can he see me??" It happens after Trynd attacked her, and usually people can't fight back against death, and most likely they can't even see Kindred. Trynd having his undying power is the exception. Not only he can not die, but he can actually see Kindred and attack her (while in reality he is fighting the warriors around him). I think that while in his rage and has red eyes, he can see the death realm
Oooh that would make sense within the context of the cinematic as well, since before the Trynd fight we only see Lamb’s arrow and hints of her silhouette. Maybe it’s usually only her arrows that can be “seen.” If Wolf mimics physical attacks with his strikes, him getting fended off wouldn’t be anything new for them, but someone actually going for Lamb directly would be surprising
@@TrashyDork We can also see Wolf's scratch marks on Trynd shoulder pad after the fight. I wonder if those warriors actually did them or if as OP said, Trynd is actually fighting Kindred.
I don't think it makes sense considering he's already fought them multiple times before the cinematic and chances are, Trynd tried to 'kill' Lamb in his previous life and death fights. I'd attribute Lamb's curiosity as "Why are you still fighting us?" everytime they meet Tryndamere
After watching like 20+ times, I finally stopped to turn on the CC for the lyrics. In each scene there is so synergy with the lyrics and the action in the video. There was so much purpose in the writing of the song.
Knowing that lamb shows up for those ready to die, im curious what you think of lamb showing up as a silhouette in Kayles fire, instead of something like Wolf's jaws.
Aatrox and all Darkins have immortality, despite Aatrox’s simple wish to just… die. He can’t. Lamb can’t do her job, Wolf has no reason to be there. All Lamb can do is simply watch as Kayle seals Aatrox in his sword. That’s about as close of a death Aatrox will ever get.
That's why I love Kindred. The personifications of death, embodying the duality & inevitability of mortality. The complexity between choosing a peaceful ending, or a brutal one. If you told me they were going to be centerpiece behind league's new cinematic, I would've never believed it tbh. This is absolutely peak, makes up for last year 5x over, & sets a new standard going forward.
Watching the cinematic, I noticed something interesting, though the importance of it is debatable. So far, no one (at least to my knowledge) has mentioned the mark that appears on Tryndamere's sword when the snowflake touches his blade. You've already pointed out that he's an iceborn and his blade is made of eternal ice. However, the symbolism here might be even more intriguing, especially now that we know it's Ashes Hawkshot, who was shot into the air moments before. The snowflake forms a symbol very similar to the Avarosa symbol. This could already be a subtle hint that Ashe is on his way, or that Tryndamere is regaining strength because Ashe is sending him a sign.
While that would be really cool and the ice shape indeed looks like some kind of a symbol (a 4-pointed star shape with 4 "tentacles")... it's nowhere near resembling the Avarosan symbol. The closest match I could find was the Demacian Illuminator Crest and even that one is a pretty big stretch (+ it makes no sense to appear there).
I agree with some of the symbolism. To me the snowflake represents Ashe approaching, and Tryndamere notices this, though possibly subconsciously. That is why he refuses to die on the ground.
Tryndamere saw the snowflake and tired but still going, he got up once again to fight and keep pushing, probably didn't thought of Ashe for it but just see the snowflake made him wake up once more, also, I don't believe Tryndamere is an ice born, neither his sword as well, that's just a Necrit mistake imo
Kindred is such a unique way to portray death, and it’s shown so perfectly in this cinematic. Riot really needs to just have a branch studio or something full time making media for this universe, it’s so interesting and entertaining!
Still here have a ton of references to my favorite parts of lore, and have breathtaking battle choreography - I rewatched it 15 times in one evening. And yeah, Aatrox’s Kayle and Morgana’s scene is one of the most complex air combats that I’ve ever seen in non-anime media.
I notice that pattern on the kindred fight and leave a comment on the first day of the cinematic. Many people agreed with me but others didn't, as the times passes more people are seeing their fight as something more than just "fighting", and i love this because the kindred's are actually having more attention from the players. I read their lore in 2015 when they launched and was amazed by how good their concept was. I never forget them and when i saw the cinematic about 5 times, i notice that pattern (all the other details i missed because i only focused on the last fight lol)
YESSS! Im so happy that finally, Kindred get to have screentime especially on a Season Cinematic. But not only that, they gave Kindred a loooot of justice and they executed their lore, relationship, fight scenes so magnificently and it also has in-depth meanings as well. This is a very good year and am also excited because Kindred will be released in Wild Rift, love it so much
I think that head tilt of the lamb is because of a different reason. When kindred appears before somenone, that persons time is up(I'm not deeply connected to the lore so if there is any one else escaped the kindred itself repeatedly except the darkins and the cats please let me know). Meaning either the lamb will claim their life or the wolf. Their life will be claimed no matter what. But here we see a person who fights both wolfs claws and lambs arrows. Of course anybody who refuses the lamb would be in the same situation but Tryndamere also fights back. Yes as the necrit stated in his eyes he is fightin with the wolf but actually he is fighting with his enemies. After Tryndamere spins towards the lamb, the lamb dodges. Her bow is broken but after the dodge it reappears. And the wolf also disappears during the spin and after it reappears but the lamb dodges. So I think Tryndamere starts to understand what is Kindred(Since I believe this is not their first duel, they may have another stand off during Aatrox's invasion or maybe many more times.). And the lamb starts to realise he is special. Not like special but special special. Unlike darkins Tryndamere is mortal, so he can die. That's why they are fighting in the first place and thats why kindred didn't do anything in Aatrox vs Kayle + Morgana scene. She knows she can not claim the darkins so it's just there watching not interfeering. But in Tryndamere's case, Kindred knows he is mortal and can claim his life, but she also can't because of the blood magic(undying rage). So I believe Tryndamere's life can not be claimed in combat (not in a regular one at least). But as she is Kindred she always appears before him everytime to uphold her duty to claim his life but always she can not. And we know lamb is rather merciful, since she claims lifes without pain. So in the end that head tilt is rather both sign of sympathy and nervousness from kindred. Sympathy because the things Tryndamere endures everytime he refuses both lamb and the wolf. And nervousness because yet again she couldn't claim his life. Kindred always claims mortals life but not this one.
Kindred in lore doesn't always only appear at the very moment of death. In kindreds very first short story she appears before a girl twice. Kindred appears at moments where you can and most likely will die but not always the moments before death
I can't stop remembering this cinematic and remembering the details damn riot really got us hooked. This is just starting and it's already this epic, I'm so excited on what's more to come on legue's lore and arcane 😭
What I also find interesting is the fact that Kindred "dodged" Tryndameres attack, the one that almost hits the neck. I don't know if "lore wise" Kindred can be slain or beaten (still kind of new to the lore), but the fact that they dodge his attack is fascinating. If they cannot be beaten or slain, or even injured then they would not even bother to dodge, after all what would be the point. If they can be slain, it brings about a whole new aspect, since Tryndamere in theory fights death all the time with his ultimate, he might be one of the few beings ever to come close to defeating/slaying death. Neat stuff. An easy explanation of course is its a riot cinematic and they wanted a fight, not a "im gonna stand here and let you slash at me until your arms give out and we can finally claim you"
I think the cinematic's Morgana and Kayle part is from Canticle Of The Winged Sisters story - VII (The Battle of Zeffira) and VIII (What Cannot be Undone) because as of my understanding there is a time jump after VIII, so they don't split instantly after that. And they line up quite well (Before that it only talks about them existing, so this can be an old story, just as the cinematic and after that talks about them sort of working together then splitting up)
You know what would be crazy? Since they aren’t like physical beings, I can imagine Lamb not actually caring if she got sliced because she’d just reform, so what if she dodged instinctively BECAUSE trynd was about to cut their mask, so her body moved on its own as to not be split into 3, but she doesn’t actually realize that, so the head tilt is her being confused as to how she was forced to act
Another interesting take is that towards the end of Tryndamere's fight with Kindred, prior to Ashe's volley, you can see that he was eventually going to submit to Lamb as his reaper. It just so happened that Death (Lamb) was a split second away from winning. You can see this when Ashe's volleys were shot (which couldve been Lamb's), and Tryndamere did not flinch to defend himself (an act of accepting his death). Crazy stuff Rito.
I'm not sure how I feel about the interpretation that old man Yasuo is for certain accepting death in his scene. Mostly because it feels like strange storytelling for the old ronin who thought he had walked away from the sword to take up a blade again to protect a village from bandits only to give up almost immediately with dozens of bandits still within bowshot of the village. I like to think the reason we see aspects of both the Wolf and Lamb looming over him is because he has yet to make his decision, after all, earlier in the scene he also closes his eyes before parrying an arrow at the last moment. And the labelling of the arrow that hits the screen as Hawkshot implies to me that that particular arrow, while symbolic in Yasuo's scene, is actually part of the scene it transitions us into.
I completely agree with you. I have asked this many times but nobody seems to know the answer. Why would Yasuo want to die and why would Kindred want to kill him?
Well, it seemed rushed to me too, but there is still a believeable explanation that he saw the Wolf and knew that his time has come regardless. And at that point he was just a tired old man albeit his powers. It's all killed by the fact that it's his vision and he could see a Pikachu on the Death star shooting superlasers at him and it would make almost as much sence, but at least it is an explanation and a pretty touching one.
@@itsgonnabeokay9341even before Necrit said it or anything, Yasuo is just tired of everything at this point in the lore, he decided to face his things but we don't know what happened in between until that old man Yasuo, still tho, I found it kinda understandable, he was done with fighting, even in his quotes in game says "Death is always by my side" and the wind as well, he just didn't wanted to keep pushing probably, he saved that woman that already flee and probably others before and that was it, as Yasuo puts it also in-game "Looks like the death IS the easy part"
@@itsgonnabeokay9341 I mean the creators of the cinematic said in an interview that they wanted to create a version of Yasuo that hasn't used the wind technique or his sword in a very very long time so...
I still maintain that Tryndamere merely managed to stay alive for long enough for Ashe to save his hide rather than him actually "fighting off" or "defeating" Kindred. Nobody in the lore is strictly speaking "immortal", even if someone like Mordekaiser or Kindred themselves comes very close. Tryndamere is a mortal. Even if he kept fighting and raging forever, he would die from exhaustion and lack of nutrition sooner or later. Aatrox as well is only 'immortal' for as long as his magical prison isn't destroyed.
Aurelion Sol is pretty immortal in the sense that he can't die of old age and actually killing him would require a power we have yet to see in LoL universe.
@@itsgonnabeokay9341 He comes close. As does Mordekaiser, as well as Kindred themselves. But the lore doesn't explicitly states that they cannot be killed. It only implies that doing so would be extremely difficult, require unknown methods or require a highly unlikely set of circumstances.
@@itsgonnabeokay9341 That's the point I'm making. Nowhere in the lore does it state that any being is full-on immortal. We have ageless entities and powerful beings who have never been slain, and we have those who return to life through some mechanism like Aatrox and the inhabitants of the Shadow Isles. But I can't think of anything in the universe completely immune to Kindred. At most, they've put death on hold for now.
Asol is gonna easily outlive Runterra and therefore Kindred. If we are talking about immortality in terms of power scaling then it depends on which system you use. Asol definitely has type 1 which usually is eternal life as well as type 3: immortality via Regeneration, possibly type 4: Immortality via Resurrection, type 6: Parasitic immortality, type 8: Reliant immortality and type 9: Transcendental immortality. @@SleepyFen
My favorite detail is the difference in Tryndameres fighting style with and without his rage. Untill he actually pops off the ult (and his eyes go red), his fighting style looks focused and well composed. Even the arrow shattering shot looks, precise, calculated. When Undying Rage starts, he becomes volatile, wild... literally raging and blindly fending off the death. It is very clear by how he knocks the 2nd arrow, carelessly, almost random.
Whats even more incredible about all of this is that the lyrics of the song perfecting alines and subtly mentions everyting that you are saying in a way, both in morg/kayle part, trynda part and even yasuo part, this is trully a masterpiece
i swear i keep watching it and feel like the lambs head started to tilt a few degrees as the camera cuts to her before the scene where she dodges the spin attack
I like that as it switches from Yasuo to Tryndamere, with the view of the sky, you can see a circle detonating into snowflakes, which is the effect when Ashe's E reaches its target. It subtly indicates that Ashe knows where Tryndamere is and doesn't just stumble on the fight happening.
There's a small scene where Lamb tilts her head, like she was thinking "why does this guy keeps holding on to life?". That was an amazing moment. EDIT: On second watch, Necrit did mention the tilt, and it made even more sense. This cinematic is one of the best pieces of media Riot has ever released.
lamb's head tilt for me is a curiosity based, probably signifying "so he still refuses his death" since she has probably fought him before and is surprised at how many times he has refused to die
12:00 Also, actually the moment when Tryndamere swings on Kindred and destroys her bow and amlmost scratches her. She may look surprised not because she was surprised that Tryndamere doesn't die, as we discussed. As she represents the peaceful death, she may be surprised that Tryndamere doesn't want to accept the peaceful death and wants to face a difficult one. Because it would not make sense for Tryndamere to attack Kindred in that moment as he was fighting the wolf and Kindred was standing and doing nothing. Tryndamere intentionally swings through the wolf and trying to reach Kindred, wolf was not even his target in that moment, so this way he is kind of rejecting a peaceful death. 2) One more of the possible explanations also why Kindred is surprised in that moment is that. Logically, Kindred attacks only when person is ready to accept peaceful death. Wolf attacks when person resists to peaceful death. In this case, they are attacking both at the same time. This can represent that Tryndamere as a human would like to accept peaceful death, but because of the Undying Rage, he cannot do it and needs to fight. That is why she surprised, cause one moment his eyes are blue and he kind of looks like a human who would accept peaceful death, couple seconds later he is a red eye monster which swings like crazy trying to attack her.
My guess would be surprise because its probably the first time she almost got touched... Just as u said he ignored wolf and went for the lamb, not only would that be unexpected but also new to them... As far as I remember in all the lore I've read of Kindred, they're always metaphorical and something else is what kills the victim in the real world, the victim only sees Kindred claiming them... that forest where those goons were killed by the fire, wolf's death, the old women with the heartattack, lamb's arrow... but someone attacking death itself, now thats new, and only possible as Trynd is alr supposed to be dead but Undying Rage keeps him alive
Am I the only one noticing that each time Trynda attacks, it counts up to 4 hits/kills on the guys in the background and Ashe come in and kill 2, which is a result of the 6 enemies on the ground at the end. Trynda hit 6-7 times overall, but some of them were parries, 4 of them were attacks. kinda fun detail that the wolf and kindred he attacked, was a killing blow to the raiders.
My headcanon for Lamb's headtilt is a mixture of both Curiosity, Indifference and Confusion. She's analyzing Trynd because everytime they meet he refuses to take her easy option, even whilst Wolf is attacking him and she's offering peace, he still attacks her. It's kinda like her going: "Why are you like this?"
I also think that kindred was puzzled as trynd actually lashing out at her is not a normal thing. It implies that somehow tynd can actually perceive her as a real entity and that's strange. Same with wolf actually having to jump in the way of tynd, people would normally fight wolf not attack lamb.
I think when the lamb tilts her head, it is not only curiosity because she doesn't see that too often, but rather confusion because Kindred can't understand why a mortal would refuse to die since to them a life time is merely a second and they don't see the point in fighting of death when it will come anyways and to them just a moment after
What I like in Yasuo first appearance is the way he digs a line with his staff, I see this as a representation of his Wind Wall, protecting him and the villagers behind
Idk I think explanation of Trynda's situation is very obvious. He did died and Kindred came to collect his soul, as they're omnipresent and they appear automatically for those who are dying. If he would've just fought why would they come? They're already too busy for coming and watching how a random dude fights. At 3 minutes of the video we can see that he's lying, completely alone, he doesn't move or breathe. When he's getting up we already can see Lamb and the shadows envelope the space around. Assuming that this is how their ritual begins, they're awakening their prey outside of time and space and making them chose. He chose Wolf and fought him. While doing that he activated Undying Rage and his body started to heal, which made Kindred leave because there was no point for them to be here and he returned in real time and space where we can see other soldier lying and running at him. It would perfectly explain how his immortality works. He actually dies but every time fights Kindred outside of time, activates his immortality and regeneration and returns. His LoR ability makes it even more realistic, as he level ups after dying.
Necrit isn’t that hawkshot though as you can clearly see at the end of the scene with yasuo it has wings. It's probably just a clever effect for a transition
It's possible the hawkshot at the end wasn't a signal either, it was to reveal there's more soldiers about to attack (they both look around as if it isn't safe then Trynd picks up his blade and looks ready to fight again as soldiers approach them from all around in similar armour)
This cinematic is a masterpiece , i've watched it 14 times and can't get enough ( plus the 3 times from necrit's vids if you count them lol ) and still gets some chills. I can't thank riot enough, I'm so happy X) .
Can confirm I've been watching Still Here at least 10 times a day since it released. Even on the first watch I was going on about how cool it was Lamb was curious about Trynd. Never noticed hawkeye going off over his head.
I also think that Lamb put down her bow, while casting the last arrow, is on purpose aswell. Tryn is still fighting those soliders while seeing kindred, and at the moment ashe casts her volley, the lamb cancles her shot, cause she knows that ashes arrows will kill the last source through which Tryn could actually die in that moment.
There was a theory that trynda never really wanted to oppose death, which is why lamb shot at him, but then his blood magic worked up and refused death and so wolf came at him, then he was back to consciouscness and accepted death so lamb shot at him, then his blodo magic...
I may be overlooking it but the formation of the trees and how it concave to the eyes it looks like the veins of the eyes and the pupil slowly fading in death as the bright light embraces the body of going cold. As how yasuo takes a final look to his incoming end
I believe and want to think that her slight turn of the head is connected with a broken bow - Tryndamir broke the bow, the personification of mercy and the gift of peaceful death, completely abandoning it. It looks symbolic and beautiful.
love foroshes wolf in the kindred scene how bad ass it looks to die by his bite, but in game all he is a floating head that absolutely does no damage and is no threat
for me the kindred tilting his head was confusion and curiosity at the same time more like "that's the first time someone attacked me" since they usually fight with wolf
Don't know if this has been seen yet or not, but in the flame transition from Aatrox to Yasuo you see a glimpse of the outline of a figure weilding a bow. It seems pretty deliberate.
