The guitar tone from that Gretsch Country Gent is to die for. I was obsessed with the Blackpool Live VHS and bought a flanger just so I could try and recreate the guitar solo
Art, art, and art...... great lyrics.... great band... they are not trying to be anything but themselves and their talent... pity they got stuck up!!!!
The Stone Roses is the debut album by English rock band The Stone Roses, released on Silvertone Records in 1989.It cemented the band's reputation among critics, & is still rated by some as one of the most influential albums. In 2004 an Observer Music Monthly poll consisting of musicians and critics voted the album the greatest of all time & the likes of NME still rate it as 1 of the top 10 greatest albums of all time today!! Ian Brown couldnt sing? That says alot about favourite bands of some!!
MAGIC! Only a few have made people react to music like this. RATM, The Beatles , Nirvana, Yes, Iron Maiden , GNR ( debut albums only ) You can feel the world is about to change when you first listen to them. IMHO.
Bob Bob whatever you think of GnR, 'Appetite for Destruction' blew all that stratocaster poodle rock shit like Poison out of the water about 6 bars into welcome to the jungle
Bob Bob GNR are bad? Axl is one of the best (if not the best) frontmen ever. Plus he’s one of the best singers of all time. AFD speaks for itself. The illusions are way too underrated (estranged, locomotive and coma are really really underrated songs). Spaghetti incident doesn’t count. And Chinese Democracy is a brilliant album, it just needs a couple of good hearings to understand it.
Alvaro Morata, Antonio Conte, and a few City, Liverpool, and Everton players disliked this video. Romelu Lukaku, on the other hand, made 100 accounts just to like this video 100 times.
@dancingkira95 Yes, this is from the Blackpool 89 gig, he says Blackpool and International Continental. The "International,Continental" bit is something he says throughout the gig after shouting "Manchetster in the area, We're International, We're Continental " when he first walked on stage, sure it was just something he made up on the spot and reckoned it sounded pretty cool.
Hilda and The Mountain King should have used this theme for the following reasons: 1) It's from around Luke Pearson grew up. 2) The trolls are pretty much Made of Stone. 3) There weren't any mainstream music artists in Hilda until now. 4) It's the fucking Stone Roses.
I was at Spike Island back in 90, just after leaving school in Runcorn! I thought about what a massive band they was going 2 b, for years to come!! A shame it wasn't that long really when they would fall apart & the great bands that followed and took over was just imitating them! But then the news came out they are back! Would only have loved 2 see them again at Spike Island with a better sound set up, but I think they would be too big now 2 do that show again, not enough space 4 the fans!!
I love the Stone roses but i have seen them live three times only once was what i would call epic which was Glasgow Green in 1990 , the other two were poor , i don't care what anyone says Ian Browns voice is fucking awful live , the real genius of the Roses is John Squire , he wrote them total gems of songs , for me first album is the best album ever made, i still love it today, never ever got bored of it!
The rhythm section ain't too shabby either lad!! He smokes loads of weed that's why his voice is fucked. My mate was in The Ways when Ian Brown was in there and he was bouncing around calling everyone "star" and he got buzzed off, his pad robbed and told to wind his neck in. He has a broad North Manchester accent for somebody from Timperley via Warrington!! Mani is a genuine kid though, he used to run with United back in the good old days, he's on a you tube vid of when Utd we're fighting with West Ham on the ferry. MCFC M20...
On last.fm (a site that notes how many people are listening to what bands and how many times they are playing each track) Bieber and The Stone Roses are on Par...
From seeing an advert before this video of a 'boyband' releasing their new album, I took a step back, and wondered, what the hell has happened to music?
