I’ve recently been in the process of worldbuilding the setting for my own future novel when I began thinking about the different religions in some of my favourite Fantasy worlds. Of course I would be building religions for my own stories, but how did some of the great authors of the day do it well? Naturally one of the first settings I thought about was the Cosmere since it’s definitely my top favourite fantasy setting in literature.
And when this thought came to me, the first religion that came to mind was Vorinism from the Stormlight Archive. Not only is it the major religion from my favourite Cosmere story, but it’s also the one that’s been fleshed out the most of all Cosmere religions.
So today I wanted to take you guys through some of the core concepts behind Vorinism in this short video. We’ll look at their beliefs, their culture, their priesthood, and even some of their history.
