Get Ready For This (instrumental) was the first track I heard from this massive Dutch group. I love the rap on ‘No Limits’ too, though but I didn’t see the brilliant video (set in a pinball machine!) until recently.
@@DJMadmanCook Get Ready 4 This!!! Still makes a stadium rock on sport games!! Those stab samples in the beginning of the track are so f-ing brilliant!!!
The Twilight Zone or Get Ready For This. A good underground / commercial crossover sound. Love those Rave sounds. But new 2 Unlimited tracks like Get Ready For This and The Twilight Zone would be great.
Agree The 90s were groundbreaking for club music. Then the music producers started experimenting with the saw wave. Without it there would be no Eurodance scene or the birth of Trance music.
@@hinsen Eurodance was awesome. I bought A LOT of vinyl from that time. The whole energy/ vibe blew me away then, and still does to this day....Long live, all the talented Djs and Producers. MAXIMUM RESPECT DUE
I have never had a vinyl record player but I have bought over a hundred club music CDs and the most important for me are those from the 90s that I will never sell and will be listening for my whole life. Albums 2 Unlimited, Culture Beat, Masterboy, Scooter, Sash !, Ice Mc, E-rotic, DJ Bobo, 666, Solid Base, Kosmonova, Fun Factory, Music Instructor and many, many more that cannot be mentioned. By the way. Sometimes I try to create music in the style of the 90's and early 2000's and post it on RU-vid so if you want you can check it out but I'm just an amateur so they are not professionally made. But I'm trying :)
Ray&Anita was on my walls when I was younger. i joined their fanclub and received some"stuff"...still to this day i enjoy their music, best music era evvah.
Ray really knows how to work the dance floor he kills the floor in every video he is in I just Love 2 Unlimited have loved them ever since their debut🥰😍🤩
I'm very happy to listen this interview you got with Ray. I was a 2 unlimited fan :) thanks for this! You were very lucky to meet Ray. I don't know if Ray's keep on making music.
Fav song? Tribal Dance. In 1992, 2Unlimited changed the game of listening to music for me. They were like from another planet! Now, no one fits better on my running playlist. Ray's energy is still out of this world. Thanks for the nice insight, and Ray&Anita, for keeping me going way beyond I would without you.
Back in 1992, I heard Anita's interview on Mars FM in Los Angeles, It was the best, and very exciting. Before the internet to understand artists across the globe back then being from Los Angeles, the radio was the source. EDM music was more of an underground music style here. I am so glad to grow up to this amazing music. Ty Twan, respect buddy.
Mars FM! I couldn't believe it when I came out to LA to attend USC in '91 and they actually had techno rave on the radio. 103.1 if I'm not mistaken. They would play everything from the Orb to Pragha Khan to Prodigy. It was completely underground, only other way to find this music was to look in that tiny section of the music store labeled 'Techno or 'Electronic' and guess what to buy.
Excellent again. One of my most memorable rave moments, was at a rave called Rezerection in Newcastle in 1991. It was before Get Ready For This was on PWL and was only available on import on Byte Records. The party started at 9pm and and always at 10pm they turned the volume right up. At 10pm, the DJ started with Get Ready For This and the whole place went absolutely crazy ! Everyone from the balcony's around the side of the venue just ran towards the dancefloor. Amazing scenes ! Great times !
Ray está mais bonito do que era nos anos 90, isso é inegável... Conheci o 2 unlimited no Toppers, através do RU-vid e espero assisti-los pessoalmente em breve 😊😘
Was absolutely in love with 2 Unlimited and their music in the 90's! What I really appreciate abt all of these interviews is how well prepared you are for them...you know your $hit . so to speak 😅... and no pineapple on pizza of course 😇😅.
@@muzikxpress When I bought the CD when it came out, I thought that would be their next single for sure. Always wondered why they never brought it out as such!
@@muzikxpress Not sure. I know the record companies tend to use all sorts of calculations of trends to estimated sales and what not, they must have deemed it not profitable enough to do so. Am currently listening to "Desire" (from Get Ready album), that one is quite underrated too, in my opinion.
Just did one with Stacey from Twenty 4 Seven. I’m waiting for some more 90s events, so foreign artists hopefully visit, which gives me more chances to do interviews 🤞🏻
Veeery inspired idea you had , to present the stories of the most appreciated songs from the past. 👏 My childhood soundtrack was the 90's music and 2unlimited is on top. It's very pleasant too see Ray's interview talking about the 2unlimited history. 😃
Thank you! I grew up with those songs and often there’s hardly any information available about those amazing tracks. So a good reason to start a RU-vid channel and try to find out 😉 Hope you enjoyed the interview!
@@muzikxpress I remember being ~11years old and wishing the album of 2unlimited, on cassette at that time. Sadly, I haven't find it, but I found "The real thing" on a mix, named "Dance Computer, vol.3", where I found also other great songs. After years, I was searching each song from D.C. mix and at start they were a bit strange, being the full songs, not cut songs, as I used to listen in that mix. 😃 Yesterday I found your channel, searching infos of Kai Tracid on RU-vid. Now I'm browsing your posts to find nostalgy music sources. Thanks for bringing together on this channel the old school "sound lovers" . 🔊
Excellent interview! Fascinating to see how he regards his music back than and right now... Curious to see how it'll be with Michele and possible other artists & new songs!
Thanks so much I was waiting for this interview for very long time. I been a big fan of 2 Unlimited for almost 30 years. Every time I was going on vacation in Netherland back in the time I was hoping to see them in the streets of Amsterdam. Definitely the best dance music group of the 90's...
2 Unlimited sounds still great today. Great Video like always Musikxpress. If you make videos about dancefloor groups i would suggest Capella they made some great tracks in the 90s like U Got 2 Let the Music.
Thanks Marcel! I’m a huge fan of Cappella and I would love an interview with them, but unfortunately it seems they don’t really perform in the Netherlands (where I am based) often. Last time was years ago…. I do not have a travel budget for these vlogs, so that means I can only do interviews with people that live nearby or with artists that visit The Netherlands. All my interviews are in person, so an online interview is also not something I would consider. Just being honest and realistic here, I do not see this happening anytime soon.
Wow amazing!!!! such an amazing channel that i just discovered!! big fan of 2 unlimited and I learnt a lot!! including the song mysterious, I didnt know it despite being a big fan of 2 unlimited, so amazing to discover that hidden gem from 1993, golden age of euro dance... thanks again for video!!!!
This song change my life, 😃💕, I was 10 watching this song on TOTP, seeing the 2 Yamaha DX7's, it blew my mind and set me on journey in music business since 🙏🙏
So cool you mentioned Mysterious 🤩 I really love that track .. My favorite from the second Album. And of course WITH the rap in it. The middle part doesnt really work without it imo .. so mysterious! ❤💙💚💛💜🧡 Great interview. Thx 😊 2unlimited break it break it 😁 Btw: Looking forward to that old school rave revival stuff 🙌🏻
I must have watched these interviews so many times and yes the cd releases I bought in the UK wouldn't have raps in any stuff for radio play they were always edited with raps removed I had to get all my euro dance and rave music with any raps imported but I enjoyed both I was exactly the same age So as a 19 year old at the same time I was crazy for early rave stuff anticappella toxic two etc
Thom, excellent interview of Ray from 2 Unlimited! I'm now a subscriber! Would love to see you interview Wessel Van Diepen or Michiel Van Der Kuy (LA Style). Being from the United States, James Brown Is Dead was such a great anthem that I feel is very underrated. Plus W. V. Diepen is such a big name in Dutch dance music.
Thanks a lot! I did ask Wessel a long time ago already and I was very happy to hear he enjoyed my channel and that he is a subscriber as well. But he told me he doesn't like to do interviews, so unfortunately an interview with him will not happen. Michiel is on my wish list and I hope I can finally make this happen next year if he's up for it (he is also not really keen on interviews I've been told.... But, never say never, so fingers crossed!). The L.A. Style track was even massive in Japan, so I hope Michiel will say yes! Thanks for subscribing! BTW, my name is Twan, not Thom haha ;-) But all good! Always glad when people enjoy my interviews!!
@@muzikxpress Twan (my apologies on the misspell! Dang auto-correct!) Thank you so much for the reply! It's great to know that Wessel is a fan of the show, but I also understand their hesitancy to conduct interviews (especially when privacy is a big concern) but nevertheless thank you Twan for going out of your way in conducting these interviews! It's a lot of work and dedication and it's really appreciated :D Be well! :D
Haha no worries, all good, all good! :) And yes, a few people I did reach out to unfortunately said "no" when I did ask them. But I still have a huge wish list with people I want / need to ask, time and budget are usually my biggest issues since this is "just" a hobby and I do all by myself in my spare time. Don't get me wrong, I love doing these interviews, but as you said, it is a lot of work haha ;-) More to come soon BTW! :)
A cool, informative interview. It was a fun watch. 2 Unlimited are probably my most favorite Eurodance artists. Love most of their releases. So good to see Ray is still performing (now with Michele). Good job, Twan. 👍🏽👌🏽
Same…. Big fan of the late Torsten Fenslau’s productions…. Not sure which person I could interview that would actually be able to tell some good stories though. They all live far from me as well it seems BTW.
I just recently found this awesome channel and now I'm suscribed: hope someday you could get the story behind the hit "Be My Lover", thanks a lot for your excellent work and interviews!
Thanks a lot and thanks for subscribing! And that one is on my (loooong) wish list as well, but then I would need some more time and travel budget so I can make a 3 or 4 day trip to Frankfurt again to record a few interviews ;-) So hopefully one day, great track! Fingers crossed!
With EBTG releasing a new album after 24 years I have a tiny bit of hope that 2Unlimited will release something new too. After the whole 80's revival we all know a 90's revival is gonna happen sooner or later. The Weeknd has been spotted listening to 90's tracks lately, so I'm just saying the time is now.
Amazing I'm a Also Big RETRO Music Fan 90's - 80's But Amazing Video But Is it Possible To You To Do Interview With Germany 90s Group //REAL MCCOY\\ And Talk About Their 1994 Hit Song Another Night
Thank you! And no, I did explain to you several times already I do not have a travel budget for these vlogs. Plus Real McCoy doesn't really seem to perform in The Netherlands, so I don't think this will ever happen. So you can stop asking me the same question over and over again, my answer will stay the same. Thank you.
@@muzikxpress Ok I Stop. Sorry For Annoying You With That Question Please Forgive Me🙏 But Maybe One Day Real McCoy Will Perform on Netherlands But Who Knows We See. First That War Also Has To End But Maybe One Day Real McCoy Will Perform On Netherlands Fingers Crossed 🤞. And Also Maybe In The Future You Can Do Interview With Me Cuz I Think I Wanna Be Mucisian In The Future. Thank You 😁
I was kid and I liked no limits so much. But then I became rock fan. Grunge, metal, so called alternative rock. And as a teenager fan I hated everything non rock. Especially techno. Except 2 unlimited. And I'm still listening 2 unlimited in my car, and my friends, other passengers always positively reacts when my car audio starts to play their hits
In da name of love was such an underrated song but they released it waaaaay too late when EDM was already in the scene. Ray and Anita would've been out on tour again.
I wish, but doesn’t seem like this will ever happen…. I did reach out to Jo Bogaert, but unfortunately he said he is not doing any interviews… I’m a big Technotronic fan, so would have loved to hear what he had to say about the project….
@@janegibbon2504 yeah would love to sit down with them or at least one of them. And I’m not a producer myself, so I only have some very limited knowledge of equipment and producing.
SAW should have left them in- that was part of the appeal of 2unlimited-rap/singing. Although on the hitman and her compilation album the rap is finally retained.
Yes as explained in the interview in the UK the label decided to release most of 2 Unlimited’s tracks without vocals. I only found out about this when I was doing research for this interview BTW (I’m Dutch hehe)
