Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel. Today is August 9th, and I wish original Third Eye Blind Bassist Arion Salazar a happy birthday with a video about one of his most infamous bass guitars built by ZON known as "El' Toro." Arion and I crossed paths last year after he saw my "10 Days Late" guitar cover and ever since then, I have been fortunate enough to learn more about his gear.
I wanted to do a video on "El' Toro" because of how special this bass is and how synonymous it has become with Arion. I remember seeing it a long time ago before the Internet was big and always wanting to know more about it, so I reached out to Arion to fill me in on the details which he was glad to do. I received some up-close photos and notes about what makes it one of ZON's most recognizable creations.
One thing I have always admired about Arion and original 3eb guitarist Kevin Cadogan is their taste in unique gear. When I was little, I was always drawn to guitars that were outside the box and not your typical everyday choices, and the first time I saw a 3eb performance I knew Arion and Kevin were serious about the sound they were going for.
I also want to thank my sister Paige for helping me put this video together. This is a one-of-a-kind instrument, so I felt it deserved an equally special video.
