TIX will represent Norway with the song Fallen Angel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam.
TIX has already been one of the biggest artist in his home country for many years.
But behind the success story that is spelled TIX lays a different tale of Andreas Haukeland, the man behind the trademarked head band, sunglasses and fake fur coat.
Diagnosed with OCD and tourettes syndrom, Andreas Haukeland built an armour around himself with the character of TIX.
Through his hits he wanted to finally become accepted and gather people. But after his big break and numerous top position on the charts, Andreas felt even more lonely and the darkness caught up with him
At this point he decided to put mental health on the agenda.
Now he wants to tell his story.

At 0:19 you can see the dice he has around the neck, representing another uno reverse card towards the Norwegian media criticising his song and giving it a 1/6! He was about to pull out of the Norwegian qualifier for ESC, but he remembered what he did with the name TIX, and did exactly the same towards the bad criticism. He even had it in hand while singing and giving a gentle wave towards the camera, which made it 10x better!

This is a competition, this kind of tactics just makes people angry, it is like trying to get people’s vote on emotion not merit of the song/performance... it is a low tactic. Shame on Norway for it.

@@edicarlos4704 So there's no room for disabled, wheel chaired, blind artists just because they are competing with an "advantage"? History and results prove that they had no voting advantage in the Eurovision, I guess. Unite not separate. That was also one of the ideas that the contest was created for.

How can anyone dislike Andreas ? He´s such a great, humble guy. As one of the "outsiders" I can relate to what he´s saying and I wish him good luck, he deserves to go to the finals.

@Mariette Τ. Misogony is to exaggerate a lot! For the first you have to be Norwegian to understand the russ celebration. The songs was ment to be in this closeed group,, but became so popular that others also listened to the songs. I was a russ mother when his songs was popular. Bouth, me and my doughter was able to see that the lyrics was not ment to ofend anyone. Imao he had nothing to say sorry for. But he did anyway. Music all over the industri is a little over the line sexual. Some peopel are insulted for everything nowadays.

his song has grown an INSANE amount for me, and the fact that he took something that caused a negative impact on his life as a kid (mainly because of other kids being jerks) and turned it around to something positive is so heartwarming to hear. it was strangely comforting hearing about his struggles with anxiety and loneliness as well, i really think that can help people feel like they aren't alone in those struggles.

What he didnt mention here, how these depressions and anxieties led him to suicide. He doesnt talk about it much. But it’s true. Yet people are being jerks to him. I mean, no matter what... Never be a jerk to someone who almost took his/her own life. No matter how much you dont like him. And I think that you shall be more sensitive to people like this.

I must confess I was angry with Norway when KEiiNO lost to TIX, but after listening to Ut av morket and Fallen Angel about a hundred times, I really love them and I hope TIX reaches the final, its song has a powerful message and everyone should listen to it. I will never thanks the Norwegians enough for making us, other fellow Europeans, discover TIX. Not only his song is my favorite this year, but he's also an amazing discovery as an artist. I love all of his other songs and I relate to his personal history a lot. People like him are so important.

Except when you use your "problems" to win a competition... then it is called low blow tactics... I am pretty sure everyone in the competition got a story to tell. Let's see if everyone will be afforded the same opportunities as they've given to Norway to convey their life's Story into votes to other countries also. This is a competition after all... Low blow sympathy tactics turns people away, specially when it comes from a millionaire.

@@edicarlos4704 i disagree with you. i don’t think he use his sickness to win the competition. I think he used music to embrace it. I know a lot of norwegians and other people are thinking that he won because of “sympathy” but i think he won because of his songwriting. He is a really good songwriter, and i know that a lot of his songs have helped teenagers, and other people. Because his texts are very deep and meaningful. I know a lot of people that voted for him because they thought he was the best this year. That he have used music to speak up about his mental health and his “problems” has helped a lot of other people. I think it’s great that he is showing young people with tourette’s that it is okay, and that there is someone you can talk to. He took something that was making him feel bad, and made it into something good, isn’t that a good thing?

@@edicarlos4704 1. Every national broadcaster is allowed to submit any kind of video to the EBU. That means each artist can potentially releases interviews, portrayals, making of or whatever to promote its entry. About TIX, I don't think that every year there are lots of contestants having disabilities. Putting some light on Tourette's syndrom and showing that a person, here an artist, can deal with it and manage to realize its dreams of performing on stage and competing in such a huge international event like Eurovision, is a good way to encourage people to focuse on their strength and go beyond their own limits.

When I first saw Tix and listened to his song, I wondered what kind of unusual artist he was and really wanted to see his face without glasses. After a while, I wanted to listen to this song again and again, somehow it attracted me, sunk into my soul. And so, I sit in the middle of the night with headphones, and I only listen to 2 songs, this is the Fallen Angel and the Dark Side by Blind Channel, and I cannot stop. But after I began to read his biography and learned that he summons to speak openly about mental disorders, it made me respect him. Thank you Andreas for the fact that people do not feel lonely and misunderstood by others. I love you

What I highly appreciate Eurovision for is it's ability to attract unique musicians at the right time. No one appears here by accident: neither the musicians nor the listeners. *** I felt in love with the song "Fallen Angel" from the first phrase! The atmosphere of the song just wrapped me with extraordinary warmth. Such a strong clear voice! It revealed the strength inside of my heart. Well, if they have something important to contribute with, no one is stopping them. If you read the comments on TIX official video though, you see comments like he is just a joke, and they call him all sort of names.....so for people to take him and his song and message seriously, he definately needed to tell his story and the message behind the song. This is what I said to all Tix haters. Behind him is this sad story about Tourette syndrome and while everyone supported Salvador Sobral from Portugal in Eurovision song contest 2017, then now when you would need to do the same, you're judging Tix due that Keiino didn't win. What a shame to everyone Tix hater! Plus he is one of the authors for big worldwide hit Sweet But Psycho by Ava Max. Tix, Fallen Angel is a masterpiece, you are deserved, if not to win, then definitely to be in top 10.

Tix is such a strong person. He got trough so much and this turned out to be a great succes cause look at him now.. I love how he always is so open about himself and always tries to help others. He is such a nice person with a golden heart! I wish all people were like him. Why can’t we all just be nice to eachother no matter who we are, where we come from or wich dissability we have? Okay I think so this need to be solved right now To those who keep commenting negative things here for him... I just want to ask you all what is your problem with him.... Bcz keiino didn't win and tix won for u all it became a crime.... People voted for him... Even if he is a famous artist he got his fans bcz of his hardwork and dedication and his fans and public of Norway supported him when it was needed....... The problem here is.... this is a competition... using this kind of emotions to win votes is just a low tactic, this is not fair on the other contestants, everyone got a story to tell, it actually could back fire on him, he is making millions on his songs and still didn’t find happiness, and there he is trying to get votes using his Melo dramatic life story to convey it into votes, it is not fair, and quite frankly it pisses me off. @@edicarlos4704 You have misunderstood. Tix did not participate in Norway's national final to win, but to spread a message. He didn't even think he could win. Neither do I think the Norwegian people sent him because we thought he would win (if that was the case we would have sent KEiiNO). We sent him because he had a message that the world needed to hear. We sent him out to all those who were struggling out there, and who needed to see that it is possible to overcome the inner demons created by bullies. It is really sad to read your comments - maybe you are one of those bullies? You have no idea what this is about and assume that everyone is just out to win Eurovision. Some of us have realized that there are things more important than winning a music competition. And since we're already talking about winning or not winning Eurovision, you probably know that Norway didn't win this year either. But we did something better. Also this year, 2024, we shared a fantastic Norwegian artist with the world, and there are many who are grateful for that.

As he says in this video he wants to connect with as many people as possible. He has said this about his music: I’m making music for people to connect with, I’m not making music to please the music critics. I want to make songs people understand and can relate to. I'll be the soundtrack to the life of the guy who has been working his ass off all week and is just looking forward to the weekend. I'm there for the girl who has had her heart broken for the first time. I am there for the boy who wants to get out of the closet but does not dare to say it. I am there for all those who feel loneliness and all those who want to get away from loneliness. To get that message out, or to be there for so many different people, my songs can’t be too complicated. It's a bit like eating pizza with a knife and fork» 😉

I really hated this song and this guy for no reason other than the fact that Keiino didn't win, but after giving this song some time, I really started to love it and now I know lyrics by heart. I was initially mad he won instead of KEiiNO, because I really loved (and still do) KEiiNO's song. But after hearing his song, it started growing on me, now it is in my top 20 and I love it (not more than Monument but still). Hearing this story makes me love it even more. Been a TIX fan since 2015 when I found his music on Spotify as a suggested song. Been amazing to watch his rise from the beginning basically. Hope he comes to America and becomes a star here because he’s 1-0 on English songs so far. I still love the Russ songs he does the most tho.

This shocked me. I've been all over the internet talking about MGP 2021 and how TIX didn't deserve to win. But while I still believe that, I now understand why he was selected. It's harsh. And I'm still probably going to go around the internet saying that TIX shouldn't have won. But now I've garnered respect for him, from hearing his story and the meaning behind his music. I have gotten over KEIINO's loss now. I fully accept TIX's victory, although I don't support it. This is what NORWAY wanted, and even if it's not what I support, Norway chose, and they get it. I hope they do this to all song entries! The story behind the song is very important. Knowing the background and the essence of the song can literally change the way we view them. As for me, I always research about the song before passing judgement. That is why lyrics is my top priority in choosing which one to give points. The melody comes 2nd, and the actual stage performance or theatrics are just bonus points.

Not everyone has an important story to tell or has written their own songs though. Many just sing the song other people has written for them. Most songs arent autobiographical as this is. And if you have seen the abuse Tix has received under his video, people calling him all sorts of words, a joke, a devil etc, and made fun of him...this needed to be told to people. Myself and others have tried to explain to people who he was, why he was dresswd like that etc because there were so many judging him on his appearance, so Im glad this was finally uploaded.

Before these explanations, my point of view was: "How can some regular pop music with a pitch change at the end can win against KEiiNO and their Monument?" But now, I see I was mistaken, and that the song, and TIX, are deeper than I thought at first. (One thing that didn't change is that I loved Fallen Angel from the beginning, as well as Monument) It's all more clear now useful video, good luck in the contest!
