Thats a great viewpoint . I agree fully with your viewpoint. I came off a bike many years ago in a forest track road. With a very cheap helmet on but also fully certified. I think then it was abs plastic on the outside with a in my mind polystyine internal. I was hitting my head face first and remember feeling my head sinking in to the polystirine foam on the inside. And that was only at 15 miles per hour.

“So the consumer needs to be aware of what’s goin’ on with the certification standards in their helmets.” Amen. As motorcyclists we take on most of our own safety just by riding. I consider every get off my responsibility. If I’m going to take the the authority of some sticker as truth, it’s my responsibility to understand the what and why behind it. There is no quality control and no enforcement of FMVSS 218 (DOT) standard prior to manufactured helmets reaching the marketplace. With that said, the remedy for non-compliant helmets are very ineffective. Be careful. This video covers great information. Educate yourself on how the brain is effected during an impact. It is what it is. Currently, there is no other motorcycle helmet on the market that can match the protection of 6D's helmets.
