I can just remember Herons in service with Jersey Airlines. Halfway down the gangway you had to step over the wing spar. The cabin was unpressurised, so before take-off each passenger was given a barley sugar to suck.

Four engine light plane...10499 pound gross weight, pneumatic actuation of flaps, brakes, and landing gear. 19 seats plus two pilots. Fabric covered flight controls and flaps. Pictured aircraft converted to Lycoming IO-540 engines.

Heron yes nice old pice of kit this old girl had nine lives I'm 68 (seen) a few now and then must have made (a nice little (feeder liner) back in the day bless it 😢😊😢😊😢😊
