It's wild seeing him with Nat King Cole in the 40s with his hair and beard. Man out of time.

He had a genius and was before his time... but perhaps he was in touch with was was true and genuine, and that is regardless of time. Thank you for posting this.

I came across a photo from April of 1955 .... it looks like eden ahbez .... he is across the street from a restaurant called Sandwich Mill in Los Angeles.

Hey this was great, I watched the entire thing, thanks for creating it.

I am blessed to have a copy of Eden’s Island LP. I did not pay anything close to $1000 for my copy. Whew!!! I think people get a little ahead of themselves. Eden was more the godfather of beatniks and beatniks were the inspiration for the hippy movement. This guy was an influence and inspiration to Ginsberg and Kerouac. His jazz sensibilities were more aligned with Charlie Parker, Chet Baker, Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie than with the Byrds, Dylan or the Beatles.
