Pastor David Guzik looks at the amazing story of Esther. We see how God in His wisdom and sovereignty will allow His people to be tested, but will always work out His plan of the ages.

Great job teaching this... my favorite is Esther 8: 17 "And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. AND MANY OF THE PEOPLE OF THE LAND BECAME JEWS; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

Esther 2:21 explains that Mordecai became aware of it because he was sitting at the king's gate while the two eunuchs were plotting. This is my favorite book of the Bible. Thanks for the sermon!

You're teaching on Esther was illuminating . I especially enjoyed the question and answer at the end of the sermon . It was like getting an extra version of every Thursdays question and answer on RU-vid . When I first began listening to your enduringword teachings, some of them had the question and answer at the end of them. . I learned much and enjoyed those Questions and Answers too.. May God bless you and keep you, Kathy

I enjoyed this presentation and his enthusiasm. I love history, and for a while l binged on any channel that dealt with the subject of Esther. However, l seriously question the way contemporary church-goers approach the infinite and Almighty Creator of the limitless universe. @0:14...There was a jump into prayer with no announcement of prayer; also pacing back and forth, with one hand in one pocket and a free movement of the other. He who *is* "life, original, unborrowed, underived" is to be approached *"with reverence and godly fear; for our God is a consuming fire"* (Hebrews 12:28,29). If _Queen Esther_ would fast and pray to enter the presence of a mortal monarch, how much more should we fear to approach an eternal God, who once set boundaries around Mt. Sinai (Exodus 19:12,13)? Even the seasoned and revered apostle Paul said, "l bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 3:14). The lapse of tme cannot erase the ultimate holiness of an unchanging God (Malachi 3:6).

There are some Christian women that like Esther you have been displaced, isolated, and hidden away, and God is putting you in positions of power to save your household and the household of Faith if you listen to ABBA Father through the teaching, blood, and body of Jesus Christ, and the divine leading of the Holy Spirit/ Holy Ghost.

It's interesting that it is a plan of the "AGES"...The last chapter is chapter ten with three verses...The verses have the following word count totals in the KJV... 1) 17 2) 41 3) 35 Another way to write them is 17159=AGAEI or AGES

If "approaching the king" was dangerous (as stated at 4:11), how could Esther have "informed" the king of the plot to kill him (as stated at 2:22)? (I think I know.)

At Esther 6:13, Haman’s wife Zeresh showed that she knew that anyone who tried to kill Jews (God’s people) would be killed. But at Esther 5:14, Zeresh had suggested that Haman kill Mordecai (the leader of the Jews) by hanging him on a stake. When Zeresh made that suggestion to Haman, do you think she was deceiving Haman into getting himself killed?

Now King Xerxes was the ruling king From India all the way to Cush He lived a luxurious life A lavish life of plenty and much A big beautiful banquet He hosted his third year The who's who of everyone Was expected to be there Nobles and princes of the provinces Were quite excited and certainly eager The guest list included Persian military officials All of the important leaders The king wanted to impress his guests He thought of many ways Xerxes displayed his wealth and glory For a full 180 days He showed everyone the gold The pearls and the silver White linen, costly stones Purple material, marble pillars At this party everyone had plenty of wine The Kings wife, Vashti, and The women partied at the same time King Xerxes was high in spirits From the wine on the seventh day He commanded Vashti to come to him To put her beauty on display His aids delivered the message The queen refused to go The king burned with anger How dare she tell him no He called his team of advisors Who understood the times They said he must do something Concerned about their own wives They will dishonor us If she can dishonor you Send her a way to never again Never to approach you Let this be known to all Make it an official decree Then find someone else to be queen Who is better than she When the other wives hear this Then they will all know To obey their husbands and Much respect they will show Pleased with the advice The king did what they proposed Message delivered and received Let every man rule his household (By Esther Coleman-Spells)
