The Story of 'German Town' in Jamaica

In the 80s my school my classmates who were germans and chines now looking back we never considered them different because all speak the same they were integrated pluse there was some many different shades of jamaicans it was the norm the world really can learn from jamaicans that different race of people can live as one and trust they as as proud of who they are as any black jamaicans We are not a wealthy nation but omg i wouldn't trade for nothing else i hope qe continues to practice one love 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿✌✌✌✌ JAH people JAH land this is paradise for some its heaven we recognize our country man and woman from across seas not from the color of their skin or eyes but from their accent its hard to hide when they speak i see family i hear my families speaking Call us the rainbow tribe if you want too its a name that identifies our people all people from different corner of the earth live as one on the island Truly out of many people we are one which is our national motto

History is so good..never new this and I'm from Montego

My grandmother and grandfather is buried there, I use to go here as a kid.

What these German Jamaicans missed out on, is the fact that their heritage is not a 'German heritage', but a Jamaican heritage. They have, like 'immigrants' tend to do, 'kept themselves to themselves. As the Chinese Jamaican, the Jewish Jamaicans and the Asian Jamaicans have also tended to do. They have withdrawn themselves into maintaining an almost time warp existence. Which is a dangerous thing to have done. People need to mix, so that we can become 'one people out of many.'
