The Story of Grandma's Stove 

"I hate to lose it, but it did blow up" 😂 Love how matter of fact grandmas can be!

Someone else may have already mentioned it, but that stove is the same one used on the show Bewitched. My father in law just passed away at 105 and they had the same stove and it too still works. I wish I could upload a picture.

My sister has this EXACT model and still uses it now in March 2021!!! Wish they were still made, but it is a sensible piece of equipment and therefore manufacturers are too stupid to see the logic in this type of oven/stove/storage unit. Thank you for the fantastic video.

Back then, they made appliances to last. I have my mother’s 1960 Kitchen aide mixer which I uses all the time.

Good Story! My family owned a single Oven Flair Stove purchased around 1962-1963 . Lasted until 1987, but it was removed not because it didnt work, but because we wanted to modernize the Kitchen at the time. I believe it worked when we sold it. I wish we had it back! If I could find one Id restore one replacing the old parts with modern parts and l.e.d. lights. Retro Cool with a 21st Century twist! Sorry to hear it "Blew Up."

We used to make such nice things back then. This range makes what we have today seem like cheap crap. This grandma is a good woman as she wasn't greedy, she bought a good used range and stuck with it until it blew-up. God bless her.

My house growing up had one of these... as did my neighbor's house... They really don't make them like the used to! Built like tanks and to last!! From 1979 when we moved into that house until I went off on my own in the mid 90's that stove cooked all our meals... Eventually that house was sold and new owners remodeled the house and redid everything with modern stuff.

Not going to lie. I’ve been seeing this stove for *years* on Bewitched. Never payed much attention to it. Now that I live on my own I look at it and it is amazing. It looks good and has way more functions that most modern day stoves, and its nearly 60 years old! Wish I could get one like it today.

My mom have this stove. And I love it ❤ the larger oven doesn’t work. We have been looking for parts

Parents had the same stove growing up. Miss it. Best ever. Often wonder why they stopped manufacturing such a fine stove.

Great video on this stove. I miss it so much. My Grandad had one. I love opening the oven doors up over n over.

I had one and it was the best stove I ever had , great for the burners that pull out and in and ready to use . Double oven great for despret temp cooking girls . And guys that love cooking .That was easy to clean . The best stove and double oven . Lots of baking .😀🦋

I have this model oven as well. I don't use it but do have it in the kitchen as a conversation piece. It's beautiful when well kept and surprisingly can do many modern things even though there's no digital buttons (just turn knobs). I love the "font" used on the lettering around the knobs and things. I'm glad you have this wonderful video posted!!! I love listening to the history of it. I wish she could explain more of what each dial does because I really don't know all the features without a manual.

We have a similar frigidaire stove, but it doesn't have a double oven and the buttons on the panel are somewhat different. But the pull out burners all work. We love it!

Best stove ever made...by standards of the 1960's and even today. An interesting aspect of the Frigidaire Flair is the stainless steel look it has for the burner top and shelf below the ovens. Only, that's not stainless steel. It's brushed nickel.

you can have vintage stoves redone. they have parts for it they call it new old stock. when they made parts they made them by the thousands. if the memories are worth the price to redo it they can make it like the day it was made.

3:00 - "And the parts aren't available anymore..." So true, Grannie. I'll assume in 2020 both you and the stove are in Appliance Heaven, and I don't mean that grey market store on Ave. U in Brooklyn...

I have the same oven with the exact same pattern in the glass but mine doesn't have the cook top built in. I have some Frigidaire knobs in the wall that match the style of the oven but the cook top is about three feet away and was replaced in '91 with a GE unit that has the controls built in. So far everything works with the oven except the broiler in the large side and it doesn't have very good insulation so we don't use it during the summer if we can avoid it.

I just hope you didn't send it to the crusher. This stove is very easy to repair and restore it back to the original brand new condition.

Appliances used to be designed with pizazz...even the type font has style..

Looks like a Gaffers & Sattlers oven. We had one with the same dual clock for automatic settings.

Everything was made in the USA. We had good jobs. 😢

Don't make them like that anymore. I have a Frigidaire oven now, and you literally use it a couple of times and needs to be fixed, use it a couple more times and it needs to be fixed. Today, they make trash, and call it good business practice.
