It’s such a shame the chick didn’t survive, I’ve always wanted to get a random new mutation in a species I keep. If you still have the bloodline from that pair, could you try line breeding those closest related to that male? They may be split for albino, particularly if it’s a recessive mutation.
would love to see how you have your parrot aviary set up. Thinking of putting all mine outside but i wanna build myself. I need ideas im not creative at all
Definitely albino imo. If it was, it would have probably been a hen as any ino mutation will be sex linked meaning the father would of been a carrier. Shame that you never bred another one.
I’m not sure but I think it’s an albino, which are known to be weak no matter what. Also, was this created by you? Or found by you? I would say found vs created since you weren’t trying to create a new mutation it just happened one day.
I didnt think of it that way, but very true. I guess I found this mutation since it was not something I was trying to create. Wish it would have nade it but like you said they are just genetically weaker.
I have a pair of blue face in a mixed Avery. I also have a pair of red face. Can i mixed these two in the avery. I hear its not a good idea as they may cross breed. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.
