I'm 40 years old and I grew up a hardcore hip hop fan. DMX, Wu-Tang, Mob Deep, Eminem, Tupac, etc and I am so disappointed where hip hop is right now. It feels dirty to even call it hip hop. The auto-tune, mumbling shit. You and Church have more lyrical skill than all the mainstream stuff. So people shouldn't dumb you guys down to "country rap", whatever that means. I'm from Boston and not a fan of country music at all lol, but I'm a fan of your stuff. Keep doing what you're doing man.
I discovered all you guys a few months ago through Brodnax 16 bar challenge. I'm a 54 yr old black guy from Texas and a rap fan since the 70's. It's hard to impress me and I haven been impressed with any new rapper since Eminem. All you guys bring it on a level I've never seen. Much respect. 💯
You probably won’t see this. But your music has helped me through my depression since my daughter died. I’ve really been struggling a lot. My son died in 2014 and my daughter died in August 2021 and then I totaled my car. I literally am on the verge of eviction bc I can’t work or go to school bc I don’t have a car anymore. But your music and funny videos have truly helped me through so many rough days.
I wish Adam or Tom would show up on TimCast IRL. They could get some of those fence sitters to lean more to the right side of things. Plus, Tim is from Chicago also.
Love both of you!! I'm a 51 yr old retired 100% disabled Army veteran and just started listening to you guys not long ago and i love your messages, thank you all of you for keeping it real!! 🇺🇲 Keep doing what your doing!! We're listening 😉❤
I appreciate you and your music. This story put the fire back in me to get my music right. I was paralyzed at 17 and lost my girl and unborn child. I spent a chunck of time just staying messed up. I finally figured out that wasn't what I want. Picked up a guitar at 25 and now I'm 36. I'm close to my goal of getting off the disability check. I might not be able to walk but I know I ain't disabled from making it. Thank you! Love and Support from Alabama!
@isaacgodwin3429..... Yo, thats a brutal and unfair situation for a 17 year old kid, but unless you're quadriplegic, and/or the accident affected your brain and "slowed" you down, Im sorry, there's NO excuse for not having a job at 36 and living off the government for two decades. Maybe there's more to it, but from just the info relayed in your comment, you relying on the govt to support you is unnecessary if your brains healthy, there's no reason you're not able to support yourself after 20 years. If you've lived with the injuries you have without giving up, turning bitter, feeling sorry for yourself etc... then you obviously have the character, resilience, fortitude and mental strength that any company would highly value.... if you were able to make a life for yourself and find any kind of happiness after a tragedy at such an important and young age, then thats proof you're not afraid to attack and overcome the largest of challenges and you're damn sure better than having to be supported....
I think you guys each do your own thing, there's no way ppl can really compare your guy's stuff, you, church, jelly, struggle, demun & Tom., you guys all bring something different to our ears, different stories different experiences. I love y'alls individuality.
And Brodnax!! I agree. They are all unique and do it their own way and I love listening to all of them individually and together in collabs/features! Best artists around and killing it independently while still being good people.
Being from middle TN, listening to Jelly, Struggle, and most importantly Upchurch, brought me to listening to you. Love all you guys. Btw that’s one hell of a picture of all four of you guys! Keep doing your thing!
As someone who knows Calhoun personally I’m just letting you guys, everything Adam is saying is honest and true. He’s been a close friend of me and my family for at least the past 19 years.. He has always been a humble great guy. He used to rap as a hobby hoping it could go somewhere and to me I thought he was ridiculously talented and I’m not even a huge rap fan but I have an ear for great music. His original mixtape he made by himself was and still is my favorite shit he’s done. “Under pressure” that shit was jamming in my car had other friends asking “who is this dude!!?” And I was making cds for close friends of mine that didn’t run in his circle and everyone loved it.. but with him busting his ass working it was a hobby, until he had to go in to serve his time.. We all threw him one of the craziest parties for him going away. Then he went in to prison and me my family all would pool money together and load up his commissary until finally he got out. Right away my Dad gave him a job as a tow truck driver and he busted his ass doing that (highly dangerous job btw) but he was like family. The whole time I’d always be telling him all these people are jammin his shit at parties trying to get him to rap more but it didn’t fit in those struggling years. But when he decided he wanted to make videos I remember him calling me up asking me lug my iMac to come over and do some graphic design work for his banners and profile pic shit and I knew he had that personality to make it so I had faith he could get to where he is at now.. I’m just saying he’s a true dude with actual talent so if any haters out there think he’s not being real I can confirm what he says is true and he actually downplays the struggle actually. Also Adam we still have your old old mp3s (tour bus shit) I think you should post some of that shit man. Adam if you see this hit me up bro, it’s Tony, I’m stuck in a ditch and it’s 3:30am I need you to winch me out and give me a ride home haha! But for real hit me up bro I’d love to work on art in any format for you again.
@@nanojjwut947 I think you meant to say you don't think anyone doubted his realness PERIOD whether it's in doing a funny video of serious video or a rap song. I spotted his authenticity the first video I seen him in which was "Did you America Today" and I kept watching cuz I never doubted him since then when he started putting rap music on here I knew I was right when I had a good feeling about him as I'm sure you did too I'm not on here trying to argue with you or "troll" you as these kids have been saying for the last 15 years... They didn't use that word back in my day when you used to use AOL discs so you can get an extra 1,200 hours of being online with your dial-up modem or even when they came out with roadrunner high-speed AOL. LMAO Anyways take it easy bro.
Wow. Thats so awesome. I learned alot about Adam just in this video and your comment. Tow truck drivers are underappreciated. I was one. Aint nothing better than a person that truly shows their love for America like him.
The song Die Tonight was my Anthem during the George Floyd bs. I deliver goods throughout Minnesota, and had many nights of going into Minneapolis. Love all of you guys and the great music you all put out. Thank you for giving true rap fans something to listen to again.
You said something that I can agree with 100 f****** percent and that is the George Floyd s*** was all a bunch of hyped up fuckn bullshit. A low life career criminal!
@@gottmituns6628 its pretty bad when you have to say that. Whats worse is that you'd be considered a racist for just simply telling the truth. Yes, stay out of the dark areas! Never relax around ....
Ryan, You and a bunch of others helped me more than they know. Music and my kids and GOD are what help get me through life. Thank you all for everything that y'all do. 🙏
The crazy thing is y’all don’t owe us an explanation on your lives, but like the comment below you are 100% humble and truly a stand up American. And I speak for myself and anyone else who feels this way, but it’s much appreciated what you do man, and enjoy y’all’s music. I got the clean money dirty hands hat. Mr. Calhoun, thank you for the story. And Upchurch, thank you for helping this guy out. Y’all are truly stand up Guys/Americans, and As a fan of you guys. I may not know yall, but I am Proud of yall. Keep it up yall. God Bless! Much Love from Arkansas! 🙏🏻
I have the same hat, and for me it stands for so much more than just being a hat with a slogan, it's a real way of life, one that I'm proud to live! #DirtyHandsCleanMoney
Just keep it growing y’all. Haters gonna hate but y’all grew rapidly and you touch a whole different side of people, rap, hip hop, country… possibilities are endless and y’all stay proving it. Love yall
God bless all you guys. Upchurch Adam, jellyroll and struggle is literally all I listen too. You guys have made a giant impact in my life and it's my life goal to watch you all in concert and hopefully get to shake your hand. This story legit choked me up. Yall are the absolute best
You are both legends and honestly I'm thankful I had found both of you. Both of you have songs that hit hard for every situation in life. Throwing on a track when I'm going through something in life or feeling some type of way. That 3 -5 minutes will never be forgotten. So thank you Adam and Ryan. Yall are the musicians alot of us needed. Keep doing you kings 💪🏼
41 year old bricklayer here who was surprised to be drawn in by Upchurch a few years ago. I love rap music and country music and honestly whatever tingles my ears! I love the independent aspect of what you do ACal and hope this is just the beginning! You and Jelly, Struggle, Church and Leonard have built something really special and I'm voting y'all for Super Bowl halftime show whenever this country can grow some balls!
I'm a metal guy but you guys and some girls in "Country Rap" have really appealed to me as of late. No autotune. Good beats. Many times a good message. Good people. Big trucks. Love it.
Truck it up! When I start getting tired and need something to wake me up I listen to Adam, Upchurch, struggle, brodnax. It pumps me up and keeps me rolling in my 68mph ride. You know cause it keeps the insurance bill lower lol. 40yrs old, 3rd generation driver, started riding with my dad when I was 4. Never wanted to do anything else. Stay safe!
Here the thing y’all are rappers who can speak to fans unlike other country artists y’all use stuff that I can actually relate to love back and forth you to on a song just crush it keep crushing it man y’all just do it different 🌽🤘
Man just hearin this story and hearin Upchurch's story helped me have the guts to try to chase my dream I've been spendin money to open up my own body shop followin in my dad's footsteps I know it ain't the same as bein a rapper but it's a dream all the same but anyway just hearin these stories drives me to do this dream, respect to you Calhoun for chasin somethin and blowin up
I've been watching you Adam and Ryan since 2017 since my daughter died you helped me stay focused thank you for keeping it real and giving back to your country the way you both do I'd be lost for real from the music to your funny videos to being serious thank you
Sorry for your loss sis my daughter Skyla pass away in 2004 I understand being lost I was for years keep your head up stay strong I won't say it gets easier but stay strong love ❤💗♥
April, I lost a son in 2017. I am so very sorry for your loss. I understand. I shut the rest of the world out and turned to music. That was when I found Upchurch and Adam as well as Jelly Roll, Demun Jones, Struggle and Tom. I was able to get lost in their words and there was something just comforting about it.
You and ryan are the only true country hits i listen to other than 90s hits but yall two are the best yet! I want to thank you two for the entertainment and awesome hits 🙏✌
Big respect for this. This is exactly why your liked. Don’t ever forget it and I know you won’t. A lot of us grew up like that. Grew up listening to rap. Doesn’t matter who is Better it’s about making sure we never forget our values and remember and be grateful for those that helped us along the way. I’m a union worker and never was gifted in music but I appreciate the drive and the great music
Mad respect for both .... Clean money is my ringtone up at 4 in the morning home at 6 in the evening then hustling side jobs on weekends to keep me and the family fed and sheltered... yalls music is very uplifting and motivational 🙌 keep it going🤘
Bad Ass Brotha. Always good to hear You, Upchurch & the others you mentioned. You guy's changed the scene. I grew up listening to Everything from Kid Rock Korn, Slipknot, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ACDC, Easy E, Wu-Tang, George Strait, Jamie Johnson, Hank 1 2 & 3, Willie, Waylon, David Allen, and many many more. Still to this day I listen to all these guys and now including Calhoun, Tom McDonald, Church, Jelly, Struggle. Just keep being real brotha!
🥰 I'm proud of you. Too many people have forgotten to be grateful 🙏 & being humble, shows how strong and faithful you are! This is awesome! Keep putting this out
Loved your story!! So happy for you I am 57 and grew up listening to Led Zeppelin and ZZtop but I I never heard country rap until 57 years old! I just happen to see a video of Ryan and loved it. Happy for you! God Bless!
My memory is shit but everytime I see your videos, there's something that sparks a memory where I feel like you an I have crossed paths at some point. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and out in North Chicago. Spent a lot of time in Elgin and Naperville and on the north side. Idk what it is but you seem so familiar....outside this social media stuff. I don't remember a lot of people from back in the day cause I never cared to know them! But for someone to stick in my mind, means that they were good people. And that's exactly what you are, Adam! Congrats on all your success! You're the true meaning of the American dream. Anything is possible if you're willing to put in the work!
You’re a great person man.. I started out my early adulthood wild asf.. but not in a good way.. I went to jail for a year and was addicted to opioids for 10.. but I have a family of my own now and I’m moving to Gatlinburg next year!! Life has shifted and really changed for the better and y’all’s music is my confirmation to life.. everything y’all spit I’ve lived.. you and Ryan especially!! I’m a musician and a fighter and I can’t wait to see what else Gid has in store for me!!! God bless and love y’all fam!!! 🖤
Listen young man, you’ve earned your spot and the downright respect from the fans. Keep your working man’s head about you, love your family and your country.
Adam the first time I ever saw you was on a video of you shaving your beard in support of a little girl who had lost her hair due to cancer. I think you may have raised money for her. I thought that was so freaking cool of you and I instantly had mad respect for you. Seeing that, and reading people's comments about what a cool dude you were, made me look you up to see what you were all about. Everything I see out of you gets better and better. Keep on truckin man. You're kicking ass at this thing called life, and I see big things in your future brother. Mad respect to you and Church both ❤
Adam, I got 15 or so years on you. Saw you and Demun in Ramona, KA, with my Brother, who is not my blood. WE ARE BROTHERS. You are 100%. You get credit, you give credit! We are never any better than the folks we are around. Thank you for being, what we all should be naturally. You and our kind are what people should aspire to be... Love you, Brother ❤🇺🇸❤
Thank you to the two of you men , any goal I’ve set I’ve accomplished , left school after 8th grade (2016) had issues with kids and teacher cuz of where I raised I was a farm boy and sitting behind a desk wasn’t for me … left school and I went farming for many farms in the area , got into turning wrenches when I was 16 listening to upchurch and it all continued ( with you ,struggle,Jelly roll etc.)now as of almost a year ago I got hired in a big ag equipment shop as a service tech , you guys are the face to what I call blue collar music you know the struggle and have always been real , thank you for that
Said it the best “you have to be obsessed with it” day in and day out, the fact you go back and thank the people around you. To think that you were just some random person one day, to someone the next, lots of energy pushing your skills and career forward along with awesome people surrounding ya. Someone like me from small town wauconda IL, I’m glad to hear the story behind it. Appreciate you and your music Adam
Pretty badass to hear these stories, it's inspiring for people, even for people like me that took different roads in life I'm not a rapper, but the stories and lessons and lyrics you guys lay down, can be adapted used in other ways. Seeing yall being real a.f, and putting "your" actual life and thoughts into songs while remaining good hearted is something the world needs more of. Yall are bad m.frs and I hope I get to give both yall a firm handshake for being a light in this world for people who may be in the dark.
Man I love how grateful you are of all your RU-vid viewers. I’ve been watching you since day one. Legit. And I follow a lot of RU-vidrs. You are the only one that constantly thanks us. That always remembers where he came from, and acknowledges that we the viewers are a major reason for any RU-vidrs success. Love you bro. Proud of you and happy for both you and Church.
The picture of you, church, jelly, and struggle is my Home Screen, I’ve idolized and listened to yalls music for the past like 5-6 years I love y’all and yalls music 🤘
I love all you guys Brodnax, Mesus, Upchurch, Demun, Struggle, Jelly Roll, Tom and you for different reasons, but connect to all of your lyrics... thank you all!! 💜💜 Maybe someday I can see you all live... that would be 🔥🔥🤯 poor Upchurch gets trashed it seems more than the rest of you guys for some reason 🤷🏻♀️
@@Tat2d_Barbi_420 I don't believe ACal gives too many fucks either. He says what he wants and does what he wants. God knows so does Tom. So that may not be a valid reason why Church gets so much shit.
@@flash2tz UpChurch gets the most shit because he always waves the confederate flag and that always triggers the sensitive snowflakes who don’t have a clue about southern heritage
Ryan is a great inspiration to me and many others. Watching and really HEARING what you said in this video, inspires this old man. Thanks for the honest discord,, I wish you well my friend!
I love hearing about your grind. Young men need more role models like you and Ryan. Real men are such a rarity. Especially in my neck of the woods. Keep grinding boys. Young women out there need to see that. Much love ❤
Honestly, I’ve got mad respect for the both of you. And I can rack my brain with thousands of questions for y’all. Y’all inspire me to do better. I hope someday I get to ask those questions. And shake your hands and thank you for helping me get over shit, helping me get into shit, and helping me along this walk of life I’ve been through.
I met you at a concert a few years back when you came to Reading, Pa. You're down to earth, and genuine. It was awesome. Definitely wanna go see upchurch in concert next, because you guys are very relatable and cool ass people
I love and have always supported what you do, from you starting with comedy with your boy to you doing music with Upchurch and by yourself, love it brother you're the man!
Am glad to hear all this! I didn't know the dynamics between y'all, am relatively new to this genre & you know how commenters are, obviously. I love y'alls music! Listen daily on Pandora (am building house on TN mtn & can't always get true internet signal, no radio stations (am really in the middle of nowhere) so their satellite "stations" come in handy! I get a beat to dance around to while building! My 62yr old hubby loves your music too! It's awesome you write & perform your own stuff! Keep on bringing "the good guys" the good shit! We appreciate it!!
That first song blew me away had me following you the rest of your life with much love and respect I am very happy to have come across that video I'm glad that you did what you did I'm glad for up church too you also help me out in my point of life from where I was at because you're a 1980 boy and I am too and a lot of things you say and are with your morals and values are so the same damn ones that I walked and live with every day too thank you always keep kicking ass
This is awesome, I've watched yall go from rags to riches, including jelly, struggle, an demun, an yall get better the harder yall go. I appreciate the days we live in!! keep going strong brother 💪
Y’all both keep it straight and that’s why we all like and love y’all. All y’all. Adam/Church/Jelly/Struggle. Every country boy connected with Church. We loved what he sang. It touched me in a way that I never felt before. I lived the songs I herd. You Adam, took it to Beast mode brother. Man I could just run my mouth for ever. So to you all. I love y’all and what your putting out. We all do…. Thanks Tremendously to you and everyone involved. TRUTH
I love hearing stories like this... true, hardworking, honest, real men... that stand up for their beliefs... and r there for each other! I have so much respect for all the independent artist out there, u guys have opened my eyes to the curptness & bullshit the music industry throws out there! Thanks for sharing this story..😎❤🤟
This is inspiring as shit because the way y'all can just make what you feel without caring is where it's at. It's a huge challenge for alot of us and hearing y'all do it is awesome. Keep killing it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Would love to see a part 2 of Back N Forth. One can really tell in that song that you two are connected somehow and have a very deep brotherly love for one another.
Dude we've all been there with hard times but you pulled yourself out... mad love for that. Thx for being a father to your son, we need more of that.... men can change
Im 44 and I love Both of Yalls music. Im old school country, but damn! I love the music yall produce. But I definitely listen to some old school shit too. Love it! Keep it up 🤘💪
Real talk you and ryan did what cash money and no limit did in the 90s. You guys are amazing and i appreciate your guys music and and everything that goes with it. Love this video
Acal and Church straight up I love yalls music and content I bang yalls stuff all the time since yall started I've live in IL MN WI TN GA FL and now NC still to this day yall have no clue how much yalls music helps me through everything from my family to yalls thank you 💯 🇺🇸
