🌟 DESCRIPTION🌟
This video showcases the story of Raven Keeper and Odin's Ravens. Odin's spy Ravens appear to be children given to Odin by their parents to be killed and used. Their spirits are trapped and gathered together by the Raven Keeper. Very interesting and sad story line for these poor children. By killing the spirit Ravens you free the children's spirits from Odin's control.
Taking place three years following the events of the previous game, Fimbulwinter, a great winter that spans three summers, is drawing to a close which will begin the prophesied Ragnarök. Kratos and his teenage son Atreus begin to traverse the nine realms to seek out a means to prevent Ragnarök while attempting to uncover answers behind Atreus' identity as Loki. Their journey will lead them to Týr, the Norse God of War who was previously believed dead. Their conflict will lie with Thor, the Norse God of Thunder who seeks revenge following the deaths of his half-brother Baldur and two sons Modi and Magni; Odin, Thor's Father and King of the Norse Gods; and ally-turned-enemy Freya , who seeks revenge following the death of her son Baldur.
The Story Of Odin’s Ravens (Raven Keeper Secret Boss Fight) God Of War Ragnarok 4K UHD includes the full story, ending and final boss of the game. The game was played, recorded and edited by Gamer’s Little Playground team. We recorded the game in 4K 60FPS on Playstation 5. In short, the video includes the full game, ending and all story related scenes. The video includes the ending, full story, all cutscenes, final boss, all bosses, no commentary, all missions and all cinematics.

So the ravens are actually children sacrificed by Odin to be his spies. And the method is by hanging them from the world's tree, like he did, and reshaping their souls into ravens. The new father and mother they mentioned are Odin and The Raven Keeper, since they took them from their original parents. There's really no limit to Odin's depravity.

For that, he trumped Zeus because at least the Olympian would still permit things to happen so long the end result was tied to him in a positive light. Also the fact that the ravens said they "tried to escape. We clawed, we screeched" implies that the hanging wasn't proper. They weren't hanged normally, where your suddenly shot down and you're given a quick, relatively painless end. They weren't just handed. They were strangled by the nooses. And that makes it worse. The ravens forced to watch their own parents kill them slowly, or at the very least to get them to the brink of death where Odin could swoop in and play the hero, using the minds of the ravens against them. They would be searching for any end to the pain, so they'd serve Odin without thought. And the newest ravens, those who only know life under Odin's thumb, they likely can't think of any possible existence other than servitude, and that makes it all the sadder.

@@terrybatman All of the ravens Kratos kills throughout the game are actually the souls of children, twisted and moulded into the forms of Raven’s by the Raven Keeper to act as Odin’s eye’s and ears throughout the 9 realms. The children were offered up to Odin by their own parents, likely in exchange for food, money, blind devotion or to avoid being killed themselves, we don’t know. The children were then murdered (possibly by hanging going by what the ravens say, though it could be just their way of saying they where killed) and their souls taken to be manipulated by the Keeper.

Just worth noting for anyone who cares about the actual mythology- while the greeks and romans despised Human Sacrifice and thought is abominable (The Romans still *did it* occasionally, mind you, before anyone springs to their defense), the Norse peoples absolutely made Human Sacrifices to their gods, and we have stories of Odin receiving them in particular, recreating his death by being hanged and stabbed with a spear simultaneously and tying into an odd theme where he sacrifices himself *to himself* for power and knowledge more than once in the mythology. It's to the point that the actual mythical death of Baldr, being stabbed with mistletoe, something ordinarily harmless, weirdly lines up with being a potential sacrifice to Odin in some context we don't understand entirely because the myths we know are too fragmentary, incomplete, and too much the dregs of what survived centuries of christianization for us to get a clear picture of the faith people actually believed in. All of that's to say: People being sacrificed to Odin and used by him for power might be one of the most accurate parts of his characterization in this game, though nothing I'm aware of makes it sound like anyone sacrifice *children*. For all the creative liberties Santa Monica took with the mythology to tell the story they wanted to tell, this bit that seems like an example of exaggeration of what a sick bastard he was might actually be one of the more accurate traits they gave him, though it was by no means unique to Odin in the mythology. Thor got a good deal of human sacrifice as well.
@jonathancampbell5231
@jonathancampbell5231 Год назад
Yes, the human sacrifices included children. Archaeological evidence of Viking sacrifices at Trelleborg includes skeletal remains of seemingly sacrificed kids, some as young as 4 years old. Killing children was common in the ancient world, not necessarily for sacrifice (though this happened) but if the child was deformed or too expensive or (God forbid) a girl, then most societies would abandon or kill them in various ways. One of the few societies to condemn the practice were the Jews, and we inherit the disdain for it through Judaism via Christianity and Islam, even after secularisation. India and China both had several cases of unwanted kids being thrown into wells going into the 20th century, and even in the 21st you had things like the One Child Policy and high levels of gender-based abortions partly because there was less of a stigma against harming infants to begin with. If Kratos was younger, the "human sacrifices" part would have bothered him more than the fact that the sacrifices were children; he makes it quite clear that the Spartans in particular had their own ways of abusing and killing kids.

@@jonathancampbell5231 I don't have nearly the same level of historical input as you two, but if I recall, in a novel about God of War, in order to save Calliope, he and other champions in Greece fought over ambrosia which was set up by some of the Pantheon for their own sick amusement. Not to rain on the parade but myths of human sacrifice in Ancient Greece are abundant AND we've found human remains in sacrificial locations attributed to Greek Gods. It's incredibly likely that the Ancient Greeks DID indulge in human sacrifice just not to the same level of abundance that other cultures did. That said, as a Spartan, it's unlikely Cratos would've ever been exposed to such sacrificial events, outside of whatever happened in the games that I'm not remembering. Further the sacrifice of children specifically has 0 evidence, the closest is the sacrifice of a teenager... it is fitting that this specific example of human sacrifice is a teenager sacrificed to Zeus... In a way linking Zeus and Odin, funny how that works.

Main reason being is this whole finding the ravens, bringing them back for the individual rewards, just for the ravens/dead children souls to turn around and tell you some absolutely horrific shit was so fun. And it was a great way of giving context to odins actions in a way that is genuinely horrifying giving you the perspective of these kids. It’s also the fact that there’s no music, noises or really anything in Nifilheim. It’s dead silent for every sound besides what the ravens tell you and the way it echos is so creepy knowing they’re literally just dead children just makes it even more unsettling. Great quest, I love how when the ravens finally mention how they’re turned into ravens, even kratos is held aback by how bleak the situation is.

Can you imagine the conflicts that went on in the households of these children? One parent wanting this sacrifice, the other at least less than sure, or both fanatics, at some point regretting their actions or so turning their souls towards this goal that they erased any remaining humanity? I wonder if some of them weren't condemned to return as Hel-Walkers and such. It's not hard to imagine their recently-dead-souls pleading to Odin for Valhalla, and him sneering: "Aren't you those child murderers? Why would I permit you to dine and drink with heroes?" The story of the Ravens. The spirits of children, sacrificed by their own parents to Odin by a ritual hanging, meant to emulate his feat of mystic suicide. The part about souls sinking deeper implies that either they never reached Odin, or he even might have simply rejected the souls and condemned them to the Lake of Souls. Probably where the Raven Keeper stepped in, spoke to Odin about using these lost souls for something ""useful"". The children were then forcefully brainwashed and enslaved and reshaped into obedient Raven spies, controlled by Odin and the Raven Keeper. Only Kratos killing the ravens freed their souls of servitude, but the fact that their souls remain in this place instead of passing on implies some kind of inability to move on; I feel like these children have suffered enough that they would move on if they could. So here they remain, in their tree, which appears to be in the middle of a fucking frozen wasteland. Countless spirits of dead and tormented children.

@@tararocksong5085 honestly if the other gods of Greece even heard about a hint of this idea by Zeus, they would gank on him so hard.

(1) Like the father of all/ We swung from the tree / Wisdom, gained father/ Servitude, gained we (2) A gift of life/ A gift in death/ To smother forever/ The All-Father’s Breath! (3) New father/ New Mother / New fate - to suffer. (4) In life we hanged/ In death, we kneeled/ Until you freed us/ With your steel (5) Our souls transformed/ Our Minds remained/ until those too/ perverted became (6) We told what we saw / Empowered his lies / Good little ravens / Good little spies. (7) We are of one mind/ United by pain/ Longing for a world/ We shall not see again (8) Our lives cut short / souls sinking deeper / until gathered up / by the Raven Keeper. (9) Mummy and daddy / Tied the noose tight / To send us to Odin / To bask in his light. (10) We tried to escape / Us clawed, we screeched/ But nothing escapes/ The Keeper’s reach. (11) Mother and father/ Perished at last/ Finally now/ Our anguish may pass. *BREAKDOWN* (1) The ravens tell they were made by a ritual by being hung from a tree like how Odin. However where Odin gained wisdom and the ravens where enslaved. (2) The ravens tell desire to gift Kratos with the tools necessary to kill their enslaver: Odin the All-Father (3) The ravens refer to Odin (new father) and Raven Keeper (new mother) whose union made use of them. (4) The Ravens tell how they were murdered by hanging, then kneeled to Odin’s will until Kratos frees them. (5) The ravens tell how their souls remained and their minds did for a time but then those became perverted and subservient to Odin. (6) The ravens tell of their function as spies for the All-Father. The ravens traverse the nine realms and serve as Odin’s eyes and ears. (7) This could be literal or figurative, given the ravens speak in unison its entirely possible they are a hive mind. They may also simply mean that they are all the same in that they suffered the same pain by hanging and were taken from the land of the living to serve in death. (8) The ravens tell how their souls being taken out of the Light, as souls sink into the light, by the Raven Keeper. Recall Sindri had to swim after Brokk’s soul and only got 3 of the 3 components. The Raven Keeper sifts up souls from the light after the children are murdered in Midgard. (9) The ravens tell how their parents ritualistically murdered them by hanging to send them to Odin. Given fimbulwinter it’s entirely possible that these children would have starved otherwise, and the families were persuaded by Odin to do this, and he’d show benevolence and give them a place in his paradise. It is also entirely possible the Raven Keeper did this wholly on her own, but Odin has a silver tongue so its more than likely given his propensity for manipulation that he orchestrated the whole ordeal especially given what we learn in game how with the Midgardians in Asgard he used them as a meat shield from invading forces. (10) The ravens tell that this may refer to either the children writhing in pain in the noose as they hang to death or that as souls in the Light they attempted to flee but they were captured by the Raven Keeper and enslaved. (11) The ravens tell of the death of the Raven Keeper (mother) and Odin (father) and that they are at peace. However, it is likely they will not be able to return to the Light and be put to rest due to the corruption of their soul states. Even Kratos ponders if they are free and Mimir says at most from Odin’s influence and when concluded Kratos ask if more could be done and Freya says they’ve done what they can. So like Brokk it’s entirely possible these children will never know rest in the afterlife due to Odin’s enslavement and the Raven Keepers fanaticism.

Gotta love the big man K, realised that they were kids, and it was the Raven Keeper that was at fault, and the first thing he wanna do is "meet" her.

It's harrowing and downright heart sinking to learn the true identity of the Ravens. Now I feel bad for shooting them down like pests in this and the previous game. Odin, like Zeus, is truly a God that deserves no redemption and have no redeeming qualities. It is funny how both Odin and Zeus are both dominated by Fear, causing them to be evil. Zeus being fearful of someone overthrowing and killing him, and thus all his actions throughout the games. Even before Pandora's Box was opened, Zeus was already fearful and paranoid of being overthrown, akin to a jealous mad king that thinks everybody is after his throne. It is just that after the Box opened, his fear and paranoia soared to new heights after all the evils are released. Odin on the other hand, is fearful of the unknown. He wants to know everything from past, present and future just so as to be in control of everything, akin to a control freak.
