@@AddictedToFootie And I forgot to give u deserved plaudits for ur thorough and concise Bio on the ' Great Man'..And I bet privately SAF was kicking himself for his decision with Paul Mc...Because I think yrs later,he stayed loyal to many player's who had prolonged Injuries,but maybe this was just how it was meant to be!.. And I think what makes Paul Mc so popular and interesting,is his total lack of cockiness,he just kept quiet( while dealing with his Demons) to stride out onto the football field to dominate the way U often saw Franco Barasi,Bobby Moore and Franz Beckenbauer did,he was that good!..

@@jerryoshea3116 despite the fact McGrath is an ATG centreback, I personally doubt that SAF regrets pushing him out.. sometimes, it's more important to have a reliable, consistent player on the staff than a genius player surrounded by chaos and disorder..

Top bloke and top player. I met him in his local pub in Ireland. I was like a deer in the headlights when he walked in, I turned to him and said your Paul McGrath he said yes the last time I checked. Proper villa legend they still sing about McGrath at even Villa home game.

nicely researched account.. I'm neither Irish nor a United or Villa fan but grew up in the 80s when this man was considered Top 3 in the world.. being awarded Player of the Year, as a defender, by his fellow Premierleague professionals speaks volumes - truly the player's player.

Love this. It's a shame i was too young to see the majority of his career but i got to see the last couple of seasons at the villa. In fact first game i went to see live he scored an own goal early doors but was the best player on the pitch. What a player and love that every Irish football fan always talks so highly of him

I had the pleasure of meeting Paul Mcgrath at Villa Park as a kid and he was so humble and down to earth. He is the greatest player to ever grace Villa Park and he will always be God. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇮🇪

It's a wonderful video. Although Speaking from experience this laughter mentioning that won a man of the match whilst under the influence I think it's a social instinct people are on a TV show and it's not As if they're condoning it they're just knowledging the craziness of it. I'm sure paul mcgrath would wish he never had to be under the influence but that was his life then. I hope he is it with the right people that he doesn't need to do these things now
