I really feel like RV gets overlooked a lot of the time. People always mention Ricky, James, and Dungey. I feel like if RV would have made a team switch or changed his program up he would have been in the sport at least another 2 years and probably more championships and race wins. But to win 4 straight sx titles and dealing with a lot of major injuries took it out of him.
@ds6329
@ds6329 7 месяцев назад
Yeah I feel like Dungey was only successful because RV retired. It took Dungey 5 races to get going and win races after RV left and beat the new contenders with consistency. RV is underrated.

I remember watching RV literally dominate the whole field. If you bet against him you were losing money he was the reason I bought my 2014 KX 450. Definitely cannot ride it like him. He is a legend amongst some of the best.

I believe he said in an interview he regrets not switching teams to change it up at the end of his career to prolong it. I believe he would have 3 more championships if he did bc the only competition was Dungy

@@theultraj1634 lmao mcgrath whooped him for 3 years still and was pretty much done at that point. Stewart was on a 2 stroke most of that time. Reed was much better 2011-2014 than any other point of his career. Same with Stewart i know stewart won alot before that especially but he didn't have much competition either until 2011. RV is the real goat just had a short career and btw i hated RV when he was racing.
@theultraj1634
@theultraj1634 7 месяцев назад
@@Ty_Thailand LMAOO I’m not gonna discuss, the discussion here is not if McGrath whooped him or not which is a lie because RC took the championship from him. The discussion here is that he had the best competition ever, and you’re wrong, the best Reed was in the 2000s same with Bubba where he was named “fastest man ever” (which he is) you’re just showing you’re lack of knowledge with your comment. Let me remind you that Reed and Stewart only 2 championships are in the 2000s. So don’t even try saying that their best were in the early 2010s where most of the times they were injured. Also the greatest rivalry in supercross will ever be RC vs Reed vs Bubba. RV is one of the greatest and was my favorite at the time, but don’t come up saying that RC didn’t have competition because it’s a completely lie and you will look as someone with 0 knowledge.

RV is my favorite rider of all time. Overlooked because he retired in his prime with years left in the tank. He loved racing but said racing wasn't everything to him. That's why I loved this guy. RV repping the PNW background. Now it's Levi Kitchens turn!

He wasn’t going to last much longer in the sport. His knee was almost shot, plus he only did the sport because his dad pretty much forced him into it. I can’t imagine how good he would’ve been if he actually loved the sport.

2014 was actually a good year for Stewart. He had 5 main wins and RV had 7. Stewart did end up getting into that whole debacle with FIM that year but I don’t think you could say RV was the fastest guy because Stewart was really fast that year. RV and Stewart both dominated that year.

Yea Tomac has a lot of wins with little championships and RV has a lot of championships with not as much wins if that makes sense. Tomac I believe was robbed of a championship the one year by Ktm and musquin, whereas RV was fast and usually in a good position points wise.

Not that he isnt one of the baddest dudes to throw their leg over a bike, but i do think it made people look at rv deferent. Especially since he was in his sx prime and wasnt as good in mx and ending his career in the process.

We had the luxury of seeing dudes like villo, dunge, stew, reed, canard, roczen, barcia. hell even the 250 lites class was nuts those years. remember nico izzi, pourcel, hill, jlaw, hansen, i remember the lites heats were fuckin crazy dudes were bashing eachother every lap hansen would clean out lappers in the lead lmao. every race had beef too. wish i knew how good we had it, not that the racing now is terrible but it used to be stacked in both classes.@@user-cq9qf3nl4w

I don’t believe you can compare the two guys. Styles have changed, bikes and tracks. I would love to know this as well but I don’t think it would be fair. The guys are going faster now days. So I guess with that being said Jett would probably be faster. I guess you could compare lap times on motocross tracks that they have both ridden.
