Good god I didn't know I could get so emotionally attached to a fucking meme, this proves that everything (mostly) this game touches is gold. The weed soldier, silly as it sounds is one of many proofs for why this game is so timeless! P.S: I really liked your video, the editing and research that went into it, good job man! One thing I was disappointed in though is that you did not show the origin of the :weed: image, from what I know the first instance of it is on a youtube vid where he talks. One day I hope to talk to the original guy and find the weed soldier model he used for that video. Love ur vids, love tf2, love this community!
I was expecting this video to be a genuine explanation of where the image came from, who made it, how it became such a big meme... Instead I got a video that started out serious and slowly devolved into utter insanity and the comentator losing his mind and I still don't get to know the story behind this damn image. It makes the whole thing infinitely funnier and I love it.

TF2 at 3 AM was really funny to me, a drunk guy joined a community server I was playing in and he started playing Demoman. I laughed my ass off to him speaking gibberish and "seeing double" while he attempts to kill everyone. we then became friends after it
I was able to find the soldier in the weed soldier photo. Its from a video named "Crystal Weed" by TEChulus. They also made some of those weirder Shrek animations that were everywhere back in 2014.

I remember once playing tf2 at 2 o'clock in the morning. there was a moment when everyone went heavy and started doing conga. Without any chat preparation. It was so vivid.
Little story : I printed 3 copy (colored) of the weed soldier and gave two to two friends, two girls not knowing about the existance of tf2. One displayed it inside her toilets on the door (when you shit, it looks at you+ she has 2 roomates), the other one keeps it in her viewport (she often has it with her as we're at uni) The third copy that I printed is... somewhere else

i've only scrolled within the comment section for a whole minute and i've seen 23 users with weed soldier profile picture. over the recent days my insomnia progressively worsen, the major factor contributing to this matter is literally weed soldier(including every other mercs, but soldier is the mainframe). i want to forget it but it appears in like every goddamn media and the only solution i am aware of is to not access the internet but no, i can't live without iitttttt
