Seems like the founder of AP had the biggest heart and really looked out for his people on and off the streets, gotta respect a gangsta who actually displays some class.
The 16 year old kid from WF that killed Armen Petrosyan(RIP Silent) also escaped from Los Podrinos Juvenile detention center and took off to Mexico and got away with the murder. He had his family bring him a cake for his Bday(back then the juvenile detention center would allow that) inside that cake was a .25 semi automatic handgun. He used that gun and strong armed his way out of the facility and disappeared into the night to be never found again.
I was never a gangster but grew up in LA mid city / Hollywood/ watts. I’m 40 years old. And in the mid 90s you heard a lot about these guys putting in work. Life is crazy, hope some people in this video are doing ok
I grew up in Hollywood around this 2 gang rivales, when to Leconte Jr high school, graduated 84 and then Hollywood high 87, it was very tuff to go around western and Santa Monica, Hollywood and western, Hollywood and Normandie.. God bless Armenian community and the Spanish community 🙏 🙏
I knew an Armenian vato called PRIMO from WF, that vato was firme, and his Jefita, his brother, they were good people, his pops was always angry about something , but he never disrespected me or any of the other lil foos that used to live in that area, He was good Gente too
Niiiice.. much love and respect from an Armenian that immigrated to Australia as a 12 yr old and lived here for 28 years now. Still proud of my heritage 🇦🇺🇦🇲🇦🇺🇦🇲🇦🇺🇦🇲
Nerses from the restaurant shooting is a real good friend if mine. The shooting info in this video is slightly innacurate only one of the victims was from the hood at the time, his name was Vartan, furthermore Nerses, the shooter was not from AP either. I met Nerses in jail, I was actually in LA county jail w him in 2008 where i turned myself in to catch the chain to go upstate, in the medical about 50 ppl dorms at old county dtla, he was one of the solidest homies I had ever met and I shared plenty of spreads w him and other brothers. This guy would go out of his way to help you with anything he possibly could all while he was fighting the Death Penalty for 4 or five murders. The cops would always cut up all the newspapers before they gave them to us so he wouldn't be able to read about his own case that got a lot of media attention at the time. We all kept on making up fake injuries so they wouldn't move us from the medical dorm cuz it was a good group of us in there, naturally, it's impolite to ask what happened but if anyone asked him he always said it was a misunderstanding he was just buying food to go at the restaurant using a stolen credit card so the cops nabbed him. Matter of fact, the homies asked him plenty of times that they could jump him in right there in the dorm so he could claim the hood, AP, but he always politely refused, this was while fighting his case of course so maybe after getting Life he might have chosen to join later, I just don't know. When I got busted I had like half an Oz of black on me so naturally I put it in my prison purse and got it out once I hit that dorm, I remember we were living like kings there cuz of that, half the dorm was nodded and scratching, but one thing I remember all four of us were high af for a week except Nerses he never touched it once, furthermore then a day later some guy from Venice came in w a lot of crystal so naturally we made a nice little trade and were using that also but again Nereses never did it, which was crazy and i was always thinking if it was me facing all them charges i would wanna be High all day but he was a strong ass solid homie, for real. Those other motherfuckers he got were trying to pressure his young brother to sell drugs for them cuz he knew a lot of people in that scene but he always refused , and nerses also told him not to sell dope under any circumstances, for anybody, period. so then they started clowning him and ridiculing him after they saw that there was no changing his mind, nerses is a gentle giant type character so imagine the shit those motherfuckers did that drove this level headed dude to loose it that much and murk all of them that day and BTW they were shooting trying to kill him and his brother also it was a shootout not just him killing them one by one like a psycho , so imagine the shit they said or did or were gonna do to his brother that made him get his gun from the car. ponder on that if ur related to one of the victims. Then finally, after a week together the big homie asked us to DP some puto 13 seconds boobop after chow and we did but Nerses accidentally landed a punch sideways or something and broke his wrist, so they took him to the hospital next day and next day came got his stuff, didn't see him again after that, they just re housed him somewhere else. But ya stay up homies and keep it thoro, much respect to the homie nerses that i met in county and ended up a good friend. I hope even nowadays everything is good for the homie even now. This us my wife's account BTW I am Armenian so don't look at the account name, they call me Stretch. Anyways, I went upstate a year later and paroled two years after that, from Firecamp. Peace to all the Armenian homies, vopshem lav exek txerk. Duces.
I'm Mexican American and my old lady is from Burbank, her parents are originally from Armenia. My wife learned Spanish growing up with Latinos. One of my cousins, she's married to one of my old homies from back in the day in San Diego and he's also Armo. We make beautiful children. Love and respect to my Armenian homies 🇺🇸🇲🇽🇦🇲😎✌
ARMENIANS ARE THE TRUE,"POCOS PERO LOCOS" Clan.. Many people are not informed nor aware that, Armenians are only a population of no more than 8 million strong around the world-- 8 million Armenians is not a lot.Armenians should be treated like a Little Brother. God Bless Armenians for withstanding so much tragedy and misfortunes in their history and always being fighters for Justice, Christianity and even being tough in the Thug Life.
Man I was in wasco reception back in 2010 homie that had the yard was an Arminian from AP active as dude all tatted n he was direct contact to someone I left back to high desert heard homeboy got validated right after I left.. He was a lifer active dude tho
When I was a kid, I went to Toll Middle school and had detention the day Raul was killed, I'm 36 now but I'll never forget that day. It was Friday and I had to stay an hour or so longer at school for detention. When I walked out of the school next to the "Malt Shop" I saw almost the entire thing happen, didn't stick around long enough but I saw the altercation.. Came back to school on Monday to hear the sad news. Raul's little sister was in my PE class on Monday and I remember thinking about how eerie it is knowing I pretty much saw that poor girls brother get murdered a few days prior. Such a sad loss, he was a young man literally trying to diffuse a situation and ended up getting killed over it. RIP
ARMOS are some solid Mfs!!! I grew up with them and me being a fearless 🇲🇽 we fucked up a bunch of lame ass idiots starting dumb drama..rest in peace GOR/QUIBO! You are all family with us MEXICAS thanks to my brother 3lleven and his mom for the hospitality when I was broke..thanks for helping me carnales 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽 🇦🇲 🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲
Armeninan's are some of the coolest dudes ive met in the L.A. County Jail and in prison. Much love and respect to my Armenians i was busted with. Big shout out to Turtle from AP 💯
@@hitter9195 The reality is these dudes are tight with each other. They live and die for Armenia but also mostly cool with Mexicans if we live with each other and among each other. Which is the case in Hollywood and Glendale. I think their hatred of MS and Salvadorians is that Mexicans hate them so much and it is a different culture even though we are both Latinos
I grew up in Glendale. We had a few skirmishes with these dudes. This neighborhood runs pretty deep. A few Armenians went the other way and joined TVR and BTR. For the most part, I have several Armenian friends. It's just like any other race. We have our good and bad apples.
Some of even went to BTC Big Time Criminals and Westside Locos. Both of them were never really big gangs but they did exist at some point back in the days.😂
I was locked up w a few homies from that AP gang.. They push that 13 as hard as any another Sureño. Solid brothers that are abt that feria & all that action.
Me being Persian and having an Armenian step-father who lives around Glendale/La Crescenta, I am actually very surprised that there is an Armenian gang in California. I never knew about it after all of those years of living here. Interesting.
@@Akagsharif that is very interesting. I tried to look up North-side Taliban Bloods in Salt Lake City, but I couldn’t find anything at all. Though I don’t understand why they would name themselves after the Taliban if they aren’t even Afghan. The only information I could find about Persian gangs is about a gang called Persian Pride. They were a Persian gang that was active in LA during the 1990’s, but now they are currently active in Canada. I’ve been to nearly every Persian neighborhood in LA, but still have never seen or heard about the existence of Persian gangs. I’ve been to Westwood, Century City, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Burbank, Palos Verdes, Torrance, Woodland Hills and Encino, but still never seen or heard anything. I’m not saying that Persian gangs don’t exist in America, but I just never heard of them. It might be because the Iranian immigrants in LA are more successful than the ones in Salt Lake City, but that’s just my theory anyways.
There was a Iranian who is half Indian who looks like he works at 7/11 by the name of Fedidoon who lives in the valley and claims to have started SFV/SOUTHSIDE SAND NIGGERS.
Bro, that’s insane timing. I just started doing research on AP13. Like, yesterday. They appear in GTA 5 as “Armenian Mob.” Seems to be the only pop culture reference to them, so I wanted to learn more. This is exactly what I needed. As always. Thank you bro.
Hey Phil. Have you ever heard of the TV show, back in the early 2000's, Titled "The Sheild"?. It's about a dirty Los Angeles Police officer in the Hollywood area. They reference the "Armenian Mob" Heavy in the show and is apart of the main storyline. It's a Great show. If you haven't watched it, It's very addicting and written very well. The Lead Character is played by actor Michael Chiklis who plays a LAPD Narcotics Officer. In 2002 he won an Emmy for best actor for the role, and in 2003 he won a Golden Globe for the same. Check it out if you get a chance. 👍🏼👌🏽
@@Jackj28 aye HELL Yeah that used to be My Shit! 💯 Wat was his characters name? Wasn't it like Vince Mackie or something like that? White Boy was Super Bad-Ass on that shit 💯💯💯
I know three guys who are AP members. All three did time. Two in CDC and one in the FBOP. The two state guys have heavy prison tattoos and the guy who did Federal time does not. The thing I like about them is that they not only don't brag about AP, they deny that AP even exists. My son, who is 1/2 WHITE and half Salvadorian went to North Hollywood High and did legit business with some of those kids. They remind me of the old Jewish ✡ gangsters from Chicago. My mother was born in Chicago in 1929 5 months before the stock market crash and the official start of the Great depression. She was Jewish ✡ and my Great uncle owned an umbrella 🌂 factory on Lasalle St. in Chicago. He also was heavily involved in the numbers racket. But like the Jews ✡, the Armenian people don't do crime for street credit or bragging rights, they are very low 🔑 🗝 key.
Interesting video. I would've never thought Armenians would take part of organized crime, etc. Most Armenians I have had the pleasure of meeting are decent, smart people (antrepreneurs, scientists, etc.). Such an eye opening piece of video 😮
LOL you serious? They have been involved in white collar crime and bank fraud for generations? AP was the gang element but most of them do tax evasion, credit card fraud and all kinds of other fraud. They're good people otherwise and I love them but they know how to run the game in America.
Armenians are super studious, educated, and hardworking people in general. They have so much love and pride in their people. Unfortunately, due to constantly being targeted, they had to resort to form a gang to protect their community. Initially that is how it started anyway.
@@mkim4091 We have mostly been targeted and oppressed by foreign powers. There only very few instances where a foreign power ruling over our nation was actually decent towards us, those being the arab caliphates, Achaemenids, byzantines, and romans. Here in the US we were outcasted and treated like shit, like other foreign immigrant communities back in the day.
Bro thanks for the stories and keeping it respectful and not make jokes about situations where people lost their lives! Unlike war in Cali that decided to start making light of serious situations
as armenian thanks for sharing our gang history, matter fact that's true, we stay mostly low key nowadays, but we less visible, all in all i don't bang i got bunch of mexican and el salvadorian coworkers, big culture with big heart. Armen was the founder of the AP thats why for us youngsters who grew up in socal we got big respect for him. he had big impact, taking care of your own people, business, kids etc...

I am a Persian who lives in LA and I also love Armenians. I enjoy being in the Armenian neighborhoods at Glendale and La Crescenta. My step-father is an Armenian from Iran. He invited me to an Armenian wedding and I had a very good time. I hope that Persians and Armenians stay close together. We share many cultural and historical ties, dating back to thousands of years.
@matthewelisha8797 We love Persians and we know in Iran that you guys have our backs and don't let the difference of religion create hatred between our communities.
I remember going into a office in Hollywood and the man all in a suit had a pic of 5 guys i asked him whos that he said those are my nephews they are in the Feds doing time. They looked like cholos but they were from Armenia Power... They are some serious ballers they owned property and business in the Hollywood strip all u saw was exotic cars in the parking lot. Homies run SUR 💪
Some of my homies are from AP the way they greet and help each other is mad dope nothing but respect to them as a matter of fact cause some my homies are Armenian I learned to call random people buligs 😂

I was born and raised in Glendale my mom came to this country with Raul’s mom in the early 70s. We attended Raul’s funeral it was very tragic and sad. I’ve been watching several of this channels videos and have a story for almost all the videos I’ve watched after living in Glendale, Blythe st in panorama city, van nuys, on Vineland in Sun valley, north Hollywood, Pacoima and Burbank in the 90s and 2000s and grew up with a father that was in and out of prison.
Some of the people in these pictures are NOT Armenian Power gangsters or gangsters of any kind. Some of these pictures are just groups of friends and the pictures were stolen off the internet. Whoever made this documentary needs some educating.
Pretty sure they started before the early 90s, I met 1 of the originals, he drives limos in north Hollywood, we had a good conversation about Gangs in Cali and back home for me in Chicago, bro had knowledge, even knew many of our Gangs in Chicago, Latino and white mobs, he surprised me by knowing about Latin Counts, Almighty Bishops and even the white Northside Gangs Simon City Royals & Gaylords
@@kx-2333Bro ap was like 300 members, MS and others were in the thousands. Imagine if the Armenians were as much as the Latinos. Besides, Armenian organized crime ain't shit in the US. In Russia, the Armenian sect of the Russian mafia controls entire cities like Sochi, Krasnadar and parts of Moscow.
I was an ABZ member and went to Hoover high-school. I was the only AB here and fought AP time to time. Westside Locos would help me out because I was outnumbered. The funny thing is that I had many Armenian friends who I grew up with since Mark Keppel (elementary school across Hoover) and they had cousins and uncles in AP so we eventually we got cool and even played basketball together. There would be like 20 AP members and just me playing ball and they would joke around saying they'll jump me. They taught me the "rabees kick"? Not sure if I'm spelling it right. You like lift your hands in the hair and kick like you're kicking down a door. They were goofy af as well. We used to make sex sounds during art class together. (1st floor of Hoover) hahaha. One of the guys who took part of the act wasn't an AP member but he was cool af but died in car accident.. forget his name but guy was funny as hell.
@Wheels and the Legman 1998~2001. There was no beef with AP and AB. There were little commotions like fights that were just minor and throwing eggs at each other, during Halloween shit like that. But I grew up with a lot of Armenians since Keppel Elementary so there was a special bond even though we went our separate ways in high-school. In elementary and junior high we even hung out together but that stopped in high-school. But still talked if we had the same classes together like PE and smoke together. We used to pay the security guard to let us smoke too. As long as we respected each other's boundaries it was cool and small fights were not big enough to cause a war. They knew what AB was capable of and there was no way I was gonna survive in Glendale if there were any crazy beef. I think me being goofy helped at times to ease the tension whenever it happened. You know like they say go back to China 'ara'. And I say stfu McDonald's unibrow and everyone would just crack up. It was always the ones that just came from Armenia that tried to fight with me but his elders would either back him up first but never jumped in or sometimes just tell them they stupid. But we would always have a meeting to discuss if there should be a fight or not. It was chill af. We were busy beefing with gangs outside of Glendale. Mostly wah ching and ktown gangs like MBZ
When we first came to United States we moved into the hood of Inglewood and we built our first Armenian church in that hood. As more of us came they moved more north like Glendale Burbank Hollywood & north Hollywood. And we slowly moved out from Inglewood but our historic church stayed.

Sounds a bit dysfunctional but Very Dangerous nonetheless. Italian American here and know about a log of organized crime but didn't even know the Armenian mob story on The Shield was based on a true organized crime group. Wow.
I remember the Hollywood high incident, I was at football practice when Sycamore st started harassing Armenians. Saddest thing one kid I new from Bancroft Jr. High was really cool with me and when we got to HHS one year and the kid would mad dog me and flash AP I was like yo for real? You know me from JR high what you mean what set I claim, turns out he needed to make his bones and was looking for anyone, that was sad.
I got much love and respect for the armians they with the business, all bout the money mafia stile..i see them drive here in México🇲🇽 with Mercedes benz & BMW s.
The big difference between AP13 and other gangs is AP hood in Glendale is actually a rich neighborhood and a lot of their members come from good family’s with money that’s why when they get caught for putting in work they don’t get alot of time because they have money to pay for good lawyers I mean it’s obvious cuz they only got 15-30 years for kidnapping which is easily a life sentence
The AP's are cool. The Greeks in the Valley, known as GP (Greek Pride) actually formed a short alliance with them back in the early 90's. I remember because I was one of the spokespeople for GP. We ran a few hits together and came up on alot of money. Problem was that the money was getting real big off up into other stuff that I'm not going to comment on. Short story is that both sides got too prideful when it came to splitting the money up and it all ended in about a year. Sad thing because the few scams that we did run netted us alot of money. we talkin millions. There were some smart minded people in the groups who together were masterminds who could've beenwall street guru's quite frankly and could've made so much money together. But that is the problem with Greeks they get real greedy and that's why GP actually split off into sub sects and disperesed throughout the San Gabriel Valley, LA, Dego, and the IE. Together though they were business brains but too much greed.
I lived in Hollywood most of my life I remember walking in Hollywood and Western I'll see a group of O.G Armenians driking in a parking lot they would lift up their shirts to me and show me their guns from far away, letting me know to not fuck with them. I had my own beef to worry about never had a problem with the Armenian Powers , I was always watching my back for the maras that were a couple of blocks down western and santa monica. HOLLYWOOD was always crazy!!! Love my city all tho I almost lost my life in those crazy neighborhoods a coupleof times!!! Thug life 😎

It’s all good. But AP was started in the early 80’s out of necessity. In 1989 through early 90’s is when more Armenians came to LA. AP got a big bust in membership around that time. It’s hard to say who was the original founder. The real OG’s are in there mid 50’ and early 60’s. Most of whom you will not see in these pictures. They like being under the radar. 😎
WS Harpy's is all around USC. There was another click around 10th Ave by Washington and they expanded a bit in the 90's to grab all the small gangs that were beefing with 18, MS, Crips, and Clanton. All those gangs along with the Bloods were grabbing all the tag bangers back then.
